Still works in 2018 but without apps of course – I got this phone as a gift from a old German couple who gave to me because they couldn’t sell it from gumtree and we met in the ferry from Melbourne to Tasmania ..... The phone was slightly damaged on top ...... First thing you must noticed is how smooth this phone runs ...... it doesn’t feel like it’s from 2010 at all Well I guess with iOS… Read more
..... even the original iPhone runs like butter ......
Normal web browsing and YouTube still works like a charm ..... just forget about apps because apps today don’t work on an iOS 6 platform ......other than that everything on this phone works the way it should be .....the most amazing thing about this phone is it doesn’t feel old at all whwn you use it ..... basically function like how a modern smartphone should ..... now that’s how much ahead of everyone else Apple was ......palm pre is another device (a year older than iPhone 4) that can still be use today and run on webos so forget about support but you can sideload apps you need
I give it a 5 star for longevity and how much ahead of its time and future proof
There are still people that uses this phone in 2018 can you imagine
Very slow! – I have had the iPhone 4 for 2 years now. Before it was my Dads for work but he got a new iPhone (the iPhone 6s). At first it worked really well the battery lasted, I had enough storage ect. After a year it became annoying. One day it ran out of charge and wouldn't come back on. I bought 4 new chargers. None of them worked. About 7 months later I… Read more
got a Samsung J3 because I was very disappointed in Apple. That phone broke very easily. Then I got a oppo phone (best phone ever!) it was fast, had amazing camera quality ect. But after 2 weeks I forgot my passcode... Whoops. I tried to turn on my iPhone 4 because I needed a phone to communicate with my parents when going to school. It Turnt back on (it took a year!). I'm writing this review using it now. I do not recommend or I get teased a lot and asked "when are you gonna get a new phone, it's not 2010" or "My grandparents have a better phone then you". I have told my parents but they said I just have to save up for a new one I have my eyes on the iPhone X. No one can tease me with that. It'll take a year to save up but it's worth it. I think the iPhone 4 is a rip off its very small (easy to loose), very slow and most apps don't work because of the iOS update required (no apps work except for YouTube) plz do not waste your money
My first smart phone – My husband handed me down his Iphone4 he had bought in 2010 when he had decided to get his hands on the then new iphone6. It was my first smart phone ever. Since then its been 5 years operating in perfect condition. However lately it has started showing signs of ageing. I get a little annoyed when it just gives up on you when you are most… Read more
vulnerable. I am in the middle of this traffic on the way back from shopping and almost running late. I had charged it full before starting and it was at 70% all applications closed. And then it just dies! Black screen with the loading ring. With my trusty google maps GPS gone I had to rely on my ill used rusty geographic sense to get back home. Luckily I made it. Quite frankly i was also bit pleased with myself. But i just couldn't make that reassuring call back home saying am on my way. This also happens a lot when i am in the middle of facetime talk. On several occasions i was pretty sure it was fully charged and it just shuts down. You plug it back it shows a hundred. And you go...what the..
Another fault that has emerged is the microphone. On picking up a normal phone call i am not able to hear anything unless I put it on speaker.
Then this little trick the google maps GPS plays too many times where i have been forced to use my inner compass. I type in the destination and click go, it just flips back to the main menu. I do not know if this is an application error or the iphone error. I had updated my iphone software as well.
All in all still love my old iphone though it betrays me on my weakest moments.

This is best iphone – So, my friend owns this phone and he told me to say this: 'My phone is perfect and it is real smooth on iOS 7! It actually runs smooth. The only problem is, its smashed!
iphone 4. a serious conversation – I loved my iphone 4s it was g reat, it fitted in my youngen hands and it fitted in pockets like a dream. On my iphone 4 I created many memories several of them being musicallys, I learned how to transition like a pro, it made me who I am today, if I never had my 2 iphone 4s, that's right I had 2 iphone 4s'. I think that iphone 4s' are better then… Read more
any iphone ever made including the iphone 11pro max. They are also within the budget of $10, I also still my iphone 4 from 3 years ago, it means the world to me and I would never get rid of it, it has special in my heart. Xoxo gossip girl
Awesome screen, compact size – The retina screen is really great. The phone has a compact 3.5 inch screen which is tiny by modern phone standards. It has a headphone jack. The battery is not user replaceable, which is a downside.
Still got mine!! – I’ve had mine for 7 years now whilst my friends have gone through iPhone after iPhone. The battery just needs changing but that’s after 7 years!! I don’t use it except for calls and texts so this works just well for me. Show details

Good For Its Time – Pros: Highly Sensitive Touch Screen Has a great display Supported IOS 7 Can be found for cheap Good replacement phone for rugged use Cons: None at this time and due to old age Main: The phone is phenomenal and amazing for its time and performance. It can be found for $20 Aud easily and be used as a 2nd phone. It can still browse… Read more
sites, but its painfully slow at this point. However, it can be abused and be taken to work (manual labour, where care is not needed) and be used without many drawbacks. A surprisingly good piece of tech from the past, but i do not recommend using it. (Cheaper chinese phones are better these days and even faster/more capable)
Iphone 4 – The iphone 4 has been a functional and user friendly phone .It is quite and old phone but I am still using it for everyday purposes. It is more prone to glass breakage so I suggest using a screen protector .The battery life isn't very good but overall quite a good phone . Show details
Almost faultless for 7 years – This phone has been a life changer, and almost faultless for nearly 7 years. I have replaced the battery with cheap ebay ones twice now, so they don't last as well as the original (6years) but at $10 each and fitted myself that is no big deal. The range of apps is fantastic and the range of uses I have put the device to has made it a superb piece… Read more
of kit to own. It even works as a phone! Wouldn't try any other brand. As a metal worker, the poor thing has had a hard life but has never cracked a screen or any such thing. I did drop it in a bucket of chemicals once, but opened it up and dried it out without any ill effects.
Pretty good – Not bad, nice model. A big heavier than current models but still good. :) Would definitely purchase again if it was not discontinued but it is still a fine phone to have it has a very good signal and I enjoy the smaller screen compared to other phones that have large screens. Older models have advantages – I have had this Iphone 4 for the last 2 years without any issues. Because it is discontinued some more recent apps will not run this phone as the IOS is 7.1.2. For me this is a feature as I have all the apps I need and they work and I no longer have to worry about system updates(which I find constant updates annoying). The phone is smaller than later models and fits in my fob pocket. Show details
The Duck – I have been feeling a bit down and have started swimming laps to deal with it. Two days ago I was the only person in a 50m outdoor pool. I was doing overarm and a duck landed in my lane. I could see its legs from about 25 metres away and I thought, 'It will get out of the way as I get closer.' But it didn't. The frustration that I felt having a… Read more
Mexican stand-off with a duck in a pool is how my iphone makes me feel. I bought it secondhand off Elliot at work. Elliot if you're reading this, this phone isn't that great.
One month after purchase and still going strong! – A grade iPhone 4. Bought two of these for my children for a bargain price of $99 each. Now after a month of use, I can genuinely say........."they are both just like new." Seriously, you would never guess they weren't. They look like new and there are no issues what so ever with them. Fantastic. When I need another phone, I know where I will be going. Forget paying $1000. Show details
It's good... At being a phone – iPhone 4 introduced a new design to Apple devices and runs up to iOS 7.1.2. It does a great job at texting and calling and works very well on telstra long life prepaid. I use it mostly over wifi and it works extremely well, I use it for watching YouTube and Instagram and very basic gaming. The screen is small but old apple phones are that way!… Read more
Some games are laggy and have missing features. One problem is that I can't access the 0/p key on the keyboard and have to copy and paste from websites. But it's in great condition and works perfectly, if you need a cheap phone that's good at being a phone then buy a second hand iPhone 4 off eBay or gumtree, mine is second hand and works very well indeed.
Great phone, still works great! – I got my iPhone 4 second-hand from my stepfather, and it's been one of the greatest devices I have ever owned. I've only dropped it a couple of times, but it doesn't have a single scratch on it; strongly built. I personally like the smaller size of the iPhone 4, it's small enough to put in your pocket and it's also heavier than the newer models… Read more
which I also like; it makes the device feel a bit more hardy. Only con I have is since Apple have stopped updating the 4, it's run a bit slower. Other than that, the iPhone 4 is fantastic phone and I will be devastated the day I finally have to replace it.
Iphone 4 Long lasting – no problems and no mini hearts when I drop it they are so much more stronger then the newer phones I've had a Samsung once I drop it the whole screen blacked out, it wont turn on and it cost me a lot to fix. I've had the iPhone 4 for i think four years now the only problem is that its slowing down gives me more patience i guess
Great buy im happy – Really smooth phone, love it couldnt use the screen because of how small it was but im upgrading finaly to the six plus soon so i love iphone
Non-Brakeable – I have an iPhone 4. Yes, they are discontinued, but did you know many people still have them today. i am one of those people. the iphone 4 happens to be no breakable. i have dropped my iPhone, more than 5 times since last year in December (2014) and it has not broke or made a mark, or even have any scratches on it. how amazing. but they are sadly… Read more
discontinued and since no body wants them they have made new iPhones. More thinner, bigger, have more space, new apps that can help contribute to everyday lives. but this iPhone that i have hasn't smashed, craked, split, or has any marks on it what so ever. this is an amazing phone and Apple should do this to every iPhone as it can stop people from spending lots of $$$ on more iPhones if it brakes, which isn't a bad thing to have iPhones, but i don't think anyone would want to have them broken, smashes, split or anything to damage their phones.
Long lasting – The Iphone 4 is great and works very well even though I have had the 4 for several years. It is very reliable and easy to use. The main issue however is that you cant update past IOS 7 and quite a few apps now need at least IOS 8. Love the phone and will definitely upgrade if/when the 4 gives out.

Can't Update :( – The iPhone has great software however is difficult to transfer between other devices. The background files are inaccessible which may be annoying for someone who wants to retrieve background files in an app like the voice notes in whatsapp to be able to save it. Further, it doesn't update to any operating system after iOS 7 which means that certain features of other apps are unavailable like Whatsapp Web.
Great longevity – Really good over time. Have had for almost 4 and a half years now. Started to go downhill about a year ago and became slow, however still working fine. Hoping that the 6s will be of a similar quality. Admittedly I stopped updating the software due to limited storage space and advice that it would overwhelm and kill the phone.
Great quality phone – As Apple product, I have my iPhone 4 for five years and the quality of the product is just fantastic Usual Apple fustrations such as incompatibility with other non-Apple systems but you'd find a workout in lost of the cases
Disappointing – For such an expensive phone, it does not deliver. I have used cheaper mobile phones with less hassle. Not a very user friendly keyboard, camera inferior quality and often displays programs it hasn't been asked to. Very disappointed and would not recommend this product.
the best phone ever – the iPhone 4 work good one off the best phones I had some times it get a bit technical but just switch it on switch it off that restest the phone
Happy – I'm so happy with it.I bought it 3 years ago and it's my best friend!I'm so addicted to it.I give it 4.5 stars.Just a small problem is ios after iphone 4s getting better,my Iphone is 4.I'm still happy with that.
Excellent for casual use – Many people might think the iPhone 4 is now an obsolete phone, but in my opinion, it's excellent. Phone calls work perfectly, built in apps work fluently and it can handle many games and almost all apps. Some newer games may not work on the iPhone 4, but most do. For many people, iPhone 4 will be more than enough. If you don't play a lot of… Read more
hardcore games or if you don't care about not having the newer and shinier phones that are over $1K, get this phone.
Slow can't play certain games – Bad camera - unstable compared to most phones. My old nokia took better photos. Slow - can't load multiple things at once. Can't handle multiple apps open for too long. I used to used my uni app to open pdf's and after the third pdf i open, it'll crash the entire phone. Mind you iphone 4 (16gb) was brand new, no music, few photos on it. … Read more
The worst part of it all was the smallest problem i had (that drove me nuts) :
You cannot lock iphone 4/4s screen whilst in a call.
What i mean by this is, yes the screen does turn off when you put the phone to your ear. Yes the bloody sensor works when i cover it. It does not lock if you press the lock button on your own accord.
It just hangs up no matter what you do.
The only exception is if you have ear phones in but i can honestly say even then, sometimes it doesn't want to lock, it'll hang up. So rude
Iphone has too many problems. But i've been using an iphone all my life because i need it to connect with my macintoshes
If it werent for this then i would have stopped using it years ago.
As a very fond apple user, i still think this phone is so bad compared to window phones and android phones.
Apple really is minimal technology, made to look nice and hip and very expensive.
Not a good phone because the battery life dies after a few months anyway.
Bluetooth and wifi drains battery even if you're not surfing the net. It'll just drain just because its on.
The notification system is bugged up.
System control has bad options too. Doesn't even have the option to turn on/off data. Have to go settings>data>cellular data turn on, but this is annoying when your entire phone is slow.
So i still use one because everyone's handed me down an iphone (funny enough)
Still going to use it because i guess it's easy to use and simple design
Also because i need my reminders, email, calendar and contacts to sync across my tech
All in all, if you have money, do not buy an iphone.
There are a lot older android models than the iphone 4 and 5 that are already more powerful.
Apple is a hype.
Theyre just lucky im in love with macs
