Beware of voiding warranty with ARB bulbar – Purchased a Triton Ute from Kings Mitsubishi in May 2021. They recommended an ARB bulbar over a Mitsubishi. Didn't tell me this voids their 10 year warranty on the washer pump. Initially the washer lines kept wearing through then the washer pump broke. Mitsubishi charged me $100 to tell me that the pump was broken and not covered by warranty. ARB… Read more

warranty is 3 years but their service centres are booked out for 3 months. No flexibility or consideration for people that live in the country - expect customers to make a special trip to suit them.

Pathetic design – ARB bullbar was on my 79 series when I bought it. I was never a fan of them to start with as they have absolutely no protection for your spotlights if you hit a roo etc. $1300 worth of lights sitting proud waiting to get smashed. I hit a roo one night and because of the angle at the bottom of the bar on the left side, it’s speared the roo… Read more

Only offroad bumper for jeep liberty – Love my ARB bumper/ WARN winch setup on my jeep. Works well, only flaw is that you can't cover the winch very well in winter & water will freeze the coil of wire up. Was an easy install atleast a two person job & have to install winch inside bumper before mounting it. Show details

Super impressed with head office Kyslth – After having a summit bull bar poorly fitted by Keilor ARB which caused damage to my bumper bar and getting a less than favourable response, decided to contact head office Kylsith and spoke to Jason. To my surprise Jason and the team were fantastic and did a super job and repaired everything as what should have been done by Keilor.

Minor rust is a problem – Fitted ARB deluxe bar in 2009 to a 2002 hilux. Good bar that has protected vehicle very well from multiple unavoidable roo strikes. The cost of the bar has been more than recovered through no vehicle damage. However, the metal is literally delaminating in one section due to rust (the flat bar that wraps over turrets). Was a bit suprised to find… Read more

this and it's likely beyond minor repair and would require a resection of approx. 80mm. Decent rust protection would have been a good option (or better protection should have been standard). Would buy another bar given the overall strength the and integrity.

Love My ARB Deluxe Bar – The genuine Mitsubishi Alloy Bullbar was replaced with a more purposeful ARB steel bar with winch. The bar has been colour coded to match the car's colour. Looks great and very happy with the result. Thank you ARB Hoppers Crossing. The bar looks sturdy and I even have my UHF antenna on the bar. I definitely recommend the colour coded option.

ARB bulbar came off – I drove back on the PDR road from cairns to Bamaga and found out at Bramwell junction that the 3 bolts had come out of my ABR bullbar on the drivers side and it was hanging off there are now 2 cracks appearing on the mounting both sides too near the Bolts. Rust after 3 months coming through – Bought bt50 fully kitted right from the dealer. The arb bull bar is showing serious rust spots after 3 months. Now I live near the beach...but this is absurd. Rest of the truck as new....except of course my arb intensity fog lights which have rust coming through on the brackets, I expected 3 years minimum rust free...got 3 months.

Arb bullbar cracking – I also have purchased a summit deluxe bar for my 2017 Prado VX and have had the same issues with the bullbar wobble which has led driving lights factory fog lights and uhf aerial fitted. Love the car regret buying the bar and not real impressed with the quality of the fitting☹️.

If you have a 2015 or newer Toyota Hilux, don’t buy an ARB Summit Bull Bar – If you have a 2015 or newer Toyota Hilux, don’t buy an ARB Summit Bull Bar. We purchased a 2017 SR5 Hilux new, and had ARB fit a white Summit Bull Bar, Classic canopy and an ARB Tradie roof rack. We are pretty happy with the canopy and roof rack, and also the finish quality of the Summit Bull Bar. The finish quality of the bar and white paint… Read more

is very good.

But this review is about the massive vibration and wobble in the Summit Bull Bar.

We had the bar fitted and straight away my wife was concerned about the amount of movement in the bar on normal roads.

When we purchased our Hilux new we were impressed with its on-road handling compared to older model Hilux’s we have owned.

The ARB Summit bar completely ruined the feel of the car. It went from being very smooth on the road to vibrations and wobbling on even the smaller bumps in the road. You can feel the reverberation right through the car, even through the seat. (It did not do this before the bar was fitted)

Also, the bar can wobble and vibrate more than three centimetres at its ends, this is very distracting while driving and unsafe.

The ARB dealer was closed over Christmas but I called them in the new year once they reopened and voiced my concerns regarding the bar, to be told that this was a Toyota platform problem not their bull bar.

They said that the rubber mounts, that connect the cab and body to the chassis was the problem, and the wobble and vibration was between the cab and chassis, not the bull bar.

I had read this on line but was not fully convinced and asked them to check over the bull bar to make sure it was fitted correctly. Which they were happy to do.

Once done they insisted the issue was the rubber mount between the body and chassis, and that this was normal for a new Hilux.

I was still concerned and questioned them on long term damage to the car that might be caused by the vibration and wobbling, they stated that the bull bar would be covered by their warranty. (Which is pretty useless if the chassis has cracks show up after the warranty expires)

I then asked if there warranty covered damage to the car caused by the bull bar, I’m not sure I got a conclusive answer to this question. They did say that they have had no issues with the current shape Hilux and their bull bar. But as this model is still pretty new and there are more new shape Hilux’s without bull bars than with, I think that is pretty inconclusive.

I have heard Prado owners have the same problems with this bull bar, and one owner told me he went through multiple CB ariels and had damaged spot lights caused by the bar vibration. The ARB dealer sales person even said the vibration and wobble is even worse on the 200 Series Land Cruiser. This sounds like a bit of a development issue and a lot of buck passing.

Overall I am pretty unhappy with this bull bar and would not recommend it to any Toyota owners.

I would have preferred that they had disclosed this information regarding the wobble and vibration with their bars and Toyotas before we ordered the bar. I would have then been able to make the decision for myself whether or not I can put up with the wobble and vibrations. It would have been my choice and I would have been informed and knowingly taken the risk.

But because they didn’t inform me of wobbles and vibration, that they admitted to knowing about, I now have a bull bar that has ruined the feel of our brand new car and has left us with concerns of any long term fatigue and damage that might be caused by the bull bar.

We can’t even remove the bar and refit the original bumper as it was cut to fill gaps for the ARB bar.

I think this is poor form, and again would not recommend this bull bar to any Toyota owners.

We are happy with the canopy and roof rack, but very disappointed with the ARB Summit Bull Bar.

Great Bull Bar Poor Finish – Have a ARB Deluxe Bar on my 2013 BT50 , in black, after only 4 years it looks like its done 20 years of hard work. Paint faded , rust spots all over from stone chips. Thats a shame as its a great looking strong bullbar . Rest of the car looks like new apart from this.

Looks bad – Seems like an OK bar but the fitment on my 2012 hilux is terrible. There is a big gap on the sides near the lights, it is extremely rattly and very prone to rust. bolts. There are holes for 3 bolts. I fitted 3 high tensile bolts each side this lasted for a about 3 rears and to day I have replaced them all again because of wear from the shaking. I also found another bolt hole each side that had to be drilled and it acts as a pin so hopefully it should now stay put. Im sure ARB would have installed the bar better than the smash repairer. Having worked on the bar several times I like it a lot it is strong and heavy and anything that runs into it will come off second best.

Rust like so many others – Steel powder coated bullbar on Mazda BT-50 rusting a after less than six months. ARB say that the bar is 'not defective' because the problem is not structural. Offered to 'fix' problem but car would be off the road for 10 days - which would be nothing more than a re-spray anyway. A premium product in name only - Rubbish!

Average Bullbars – I have been very disappointed with my Bullbar, for the premium price I expected a better product from the ARB brand. I've seen some really neat installations and then this is not one of… Read more

them.

The bar is rusting along the entire cut edges well under the paint nowhere near a stone chip.

Also the paint is peeling off inside the bar.

The black plastic trims are discoloured from the sun.

Car has never seen the beach and is actually kept in the garage or under cover most of the time.

The fitted driving lights are cheap items too.

The headlights reflect off the top bar and it vibrates over bumps.

I had the car for two weeks while the bar was ordered and painted. What a terrible difference the bar made to the handling after fitment. it dropped the front down nearly 20mm at the front guards and lifted it 15mm at the rear. Personally I think these bars are far too heavy on standard suspension, nearly 90kg swinging off the front end completely changes the vehicles dynamics, they really need to be fitted with HD suspension as a mandatory item when they sell them.

I think a locally made alloy bar would have been a better option.

Rust rust rust – I bought an ARB bull bar for my Landcruiser 80 but sadly it is rusting to bits. Their respond was that is normal wear and tear (due to stone chips) but the rust is on the inside of the panels, on the bracket and on all the sharp edges. None on the area that is subjected to potential stone chips. Communication is challenged at best. Seems rust is a common problem even though they are in denial.

directions were missing for the "fog/signal lamps" housing and the factory fogs don't fit. Contacted tech service. Received rude response "factory fogs don't fit, never have and never will" so I had to buy their fog lamps. After buying their lamps I found the housings didn't include the clamps needed to install them and I still needed the directions as it was obvious the housings were missing something other than basic nuts and bolts.

I then emailed them about the missing directions and whatever pieces were needed for the fog housing install. They sent me the missing directions with the response "cheers" but no mention about the missing parts. I have sent 2 more email requests for the parts (probably worth about $5.00) and they won't even respond. After contacting some ARB distributers I'm told I would have to buy both housings to get the parts I need. Buyer Beware if you buy from ARB product and most certainly if from an online retailer !!

10-7-2015 I wanted to update this review because they did finally respond (after my notifying them of my intent to post negative reviews) and sent the correct hardware. So, aside from the rust on the bumper of the assembly, I raised the review to a three from a one because they resolved the missing parts issue.

bad vibration – I recently purchased a new bt50 and had an arb black bar fitted,On bumps and minor dirt roads it vibrates badly and is hitting lh side panel. Also the fitters stuffed up the cutting of the wheel arch plastics which were bent up instead of cut. Also sticks out and will need a lift kit to enter creek crossings. The main problem is the vibration and the bar hitting the body when it vibrates. I am not impressed and wont buy another.

I don't drive it anywhere near the beach or salt water either. sore. I change my cars over every 3 to 4 years and its now presented me with an issue. I have to fix it ! Quoted by a mobile paint repairer $500 to sand back & re paint it. However, first i have to remove the UHF & mobile phone antenna, then the spot lights, and then a winch and connecting bash plates. Then i have to remove it off the car (weighs 80 kgs) Then i can get it painted! And after painting i'll go through the whole process again. Sorry, but this is just rubbish, $2500 plus a full days work just to get it looking the way it should look. There are copy bars on the aftermarket scene that cost $1,000. I could of bought 2 by now and still had $500 left in my sky rocket. ARB talks about there R&D in Australia and the fact we should buy Australian.
