You will learn basic repairs! – We have had ours for 7 years, so it should be ready for the tip, based on the principle of inbuilt obsolescence. HOWEVER, over the years, I have replaced the runners on the top rack, picked out broken plastic from the cutlery basket, thrown away parts of the bottom strainer and had to reattach the brackets that attach to my cabinets 3 times. Now the motherboard has gone, we are going for a Bosch....

1 Star for Poor Service from ASKO...and that's generous! – Up until now this dishwasher has been fantastic and I would highly recommend it. Yes it is now 7 years old but recently the top drawer had broken plastic pieces and ballbearings dropping into the bottom of the machine and the handle to the cutlery basket broke. Obviously out of warranty, but I have found the service from ASKO Australia, EXTREMELY… Read more

POOR. After contacting them via phone and email it took over a week to get back to me ...Then after sending photos of the broken pieces it took the lady handing my issue quite a while to find out what the piece was... Then she goes on holidays and as I did as well contacted ASKO when I returned only to find out that the lady helping me no longer works at the company. When I speak to someone else about the issue there is nothing on file!! Spoke to them and emailed them two days ago... Still waiting for a reply... HOPELESS. The machine was expensive and I didn't think that this would happen after 7 years. My brother had a cheap DISHLEX for 16 years without a problem...Don't buy ASKO ....

Motherboard broke and costs $800 to repair – Asko is not an American brand and you will pay the price for it. The Asko I used was broken after 5 years and we called to see what was wrong. A common problem with the dishwasher is that the motherboard broke. To get this replaced on an Asko is $800. Asko is not worth buying because I could buy 2 NEW dishwashers with that money plus with the… Read more

installation fee. Take my advice and get an American brand dishwasher so you do not come across this problem.

Biggest reason NOT to buy an Asko – Lots have been written about the pros and cons of buying an Asko over other leading brands like Bosch or Miele. I’ll give you the biggest reason not to buy an Asko as long as you excuse the fairly long story. We’ve owned an Asko for about five years now. In the first few months of owning the machine, the lights on the controls would dance… Read more

around whenever we pressed the start button. It didn’t happen all the time, just occasionally.

We called Asko and the technician came and said nothing is wrong. We had to pay around $140 (if memory serves me as it was some years ago) for the call out because the company has this real customer unfriendly policy that actually discourages you from diagnosing and fixing problems early – but that’s an argument for another day.

A few months after, the machine stopped. Just wouldn’t work. We called Asko and the technician told us it was a clogged drainage pipe and not covered by the warranty. We had to pay another $280 for this. I was mad but paid.

The next day the machine broke down again. Asko came out and found a corroded part that had to be replaced. The technician told us that the first problem with the control was due to this as that is how the machine tells you something is wrong. Wonder why this wasn’t picked up in the first place!

Here’s when the fun begins. We called the service manager three times and emailed him twice to arrange a refund for the two service payments we made. We can never get him on the phone and left messages. He never called back and I think he must have been hiding from us.

We asked the receptionist for the Australian general manager. She would not put us through and said we should talk to the service manager. We asked for the GM’s name so we can email or write him and she refused to even tell us that.

Luckily for Google we tracked him down (this was Richard Sims, who has since left) and we emailed him and sent him a registered letter of complaint.

Weeks passed. No reply.

Out of desperation, I emailed global HQ to tell the CEO what a lousy job Richard Sims and his team are doing in looking after us and attached the letter I sent Richard.

The next day I got a call from Asko Australia’s customer service manager. What a surprise!

He told me Asko would give me the refund I requested but was fairly unapologetic. He also couldn’t tell me why I was ignored or why management seems to be hiding from unhappy customers.

He also said my check will be sent in one week. It took two – no biggie. But what really makes me unhappy is that Akso Australia didn’t even have the courtesy to extend an apology to me even though they knew what they had put us through.

It is simply amazing that a premium brand knows so little about customer service.

Who cares if Asko outlasts its competitors? Any company that treats customers with contempt doesn’t deserve my business.

This dishwasher is my best friend – This was bought to replace my fifteen year old Asko, which I loved, but which finally died. I love this new one even more. Everything comes out clean, sparkly and dry; and I never rinse anything. It holds a huge amount of big things with odd shapes. The little extra drawer at the top is really useful. I totally recommend this dishwasher. Just remember to use a good cleaning tablet. Quiet, elegant, effective. Nothing at all

Excellent dishwasher, best I have ever had – This dishwasher is one of the only I have ever had which fits my large plates in it. It is also exceptionally quiet and does an excellent cleaning job. I'm not sure about the reviews on here which say it doesn't clean very well as I always rinse my dishes before putting them in and I have never expected a dishwasher to clean dried on old food bits… Read more

anyway, so I am comparing the cleaning standards to other dishwashers I have used when dishes are thoroughly rinsed (I didn't think the idea of dishwashers was to leave lots of food on them and expect them to clean off crusty, dried up, days old food). Quiet, large capacity, excellent cleaning.

Better but not brilliant – This dishwasher was a replacement from Asko for my dud D3132 (see other review). Comparatively it does clean dishes, which is great. It is also nice and quiet, looks slick, and holds lots internally. However it did take quite a bit of experimentation with program choice, and detergent and rinse aid quantities to achieve good results. The Asko… Read more

'helpline' and service people tell me I should only need to use one teaspoon of Finish detergent and have the rinse aid dispenser set on the lowest setting. To be frank, this is terrible. I found the only way to get good results is to use the Normal or pots cycle on the high temperature setting, with a heaped desert spoon of detergent and the rinse aid dispenser set to 4. These issues aren't that difficult to overcome, but clearly I would not be achieving the same environmentally friendly results that Asko claim, both in terms of electricity use (to heat to a higher temperature) and detergent and rinse aid use.

I don't know if I would buy another Asko dishwasher. My experience with this one and the D3132 leave me thinking that Asko may have lost the plot a little when it comes to dishwashers. But maybe all manufacturers are too busy chasing energy star ratings rather than producing machines that work well. looks good, holds lots uses more detergent, rinse aid and electricity than Asko suggest should be needed

Asko D3351 – We purchased the Asko to replace a 10 year old Electrolux. The Electrolux was noisy, used a little to much water, needed the door seal replaced frequently and it cleaned all the items to a spotless condition. Whatever we have tried, including having a charming Asko Technician adjust a series fault on the electronics, the Asko machine does not… Read more

clean dishes.

Discussions with our local Asko agent have not resulted in any positive assistance other than send a technician for which we were charged $250. Quiet operation, low power and water consumption. The machine does not clean our dishes unless we prewash by hand.

How did i miss it all along – It was a last minute decision to buy asko as we were ready to buy a bosch after a research.Paid in full and saw the review.was apprehensive that we had make a wrong decision, but after it was fixed and started to work i am pleased as punch. Was very quiet and washed very well a tad bit expensive but no regrets there

Best on the market! – My ASKO D5233 is the absolutely best dishwasher I have owned in the last 40 years! Everything I put in there, and I have put some pretty dirty stuck on stuff just to test it, comes out perfectly clean. I love that you can put the flatware container where ever you need to put it to suit your preferences in loading the bottom rack. The options… Read more

of the folding tines also offer a lot of choices in how and what you load. I do a lot of entertaining and the ability to put large items in both top and lower racks is wonderful for my prep clean-up. I also like the way the ASKO dries. I always use a good dishwashing table and have no problems with cleaning. MY only regret is that I did not use ASKO at our other house and when that one needs replacing it will be replaced with an ASKO. Arrangement of racks, the way it cleans and dries

Cleans very well! – The dishes come out clean and it's very quiet. It looks nice and is easy to stack which was my worst complaint with my previous machine (of another brand). Clean dishes, quiet and easy to stack all sorts, sizes and shapes of dishes The regular wash takes about 1hr and 30 minutes - seems a bit long to be energy/water efficient?

Bad – It is good to look at and the physical built seems high-quality but not impress with the cleaning function. Overall, disappointing. I bought Asko as I thought it has good reputation. But I'm not at all impressed. The design and built looks high quality The most important function - washing is not impressive. Pretty much most of the time, a few of… Read more

Quiet and efficient – We bought this dishwasher after our old one developed fatal problems. The price was a tad daunting, but it washes so well and so quietly that we consider the price well worth it. Our old dishwasher was notorious for not always washing everything in a load as well as it should, but we have had no problems with the asko thus far. Always washes well… Read more

and quietly, and the filter is easy to clean and reassemble. A bit too expensive and you can't buy one off the floor. You can't haggle with any store because the price is set by the company.
