What a disappointment – Bought an Asko four years ago since then it has broken down once and needed repairing, then two years later and out of warranty the control board broke down thanks to a silverfish, now 7 months later and again out of the 6 months warranty period the control board has gone down again. If I get fixed again this machine will have cost me nearly $900… Read more

in repairs. I think its a lemon and should start looking for a new dishwasher from another manufacturer

Asko D1706 Fantastic – I have had this dishwasher for nearly 17 years and it has never missed a beat, is worth every cent I paid for it. I would recommend this brand to anyone who wants a decent reliable dishwasher that does a fantastic job and if it ever does break down I will buy Asko again.

Lasted 2 years 3 months – Asko "built to last longer." Your kidding. I'm a plumber and mine blew the control board 3 months out of warranty and they want 500 to fix it. I paid 1500 for a what I thought a good machine so I wouldn't have this problem. My advice buy 3 cheaper ones for the price of one of these. It doesn't clean any better either.

Asko D5131 leaves residue all over the dishes – I have found that unless I clean the filter daily and clear out the small holes on the washing rotors, which is very difficult, my dishes have a fine residue all over them. I think this machine has a major design fault. I wish I had paid the $500 to fix my old Asko, which was terrific. Environmental credentials Unless all food residue is… Read more

completely removed from dishes the machine deposits fine particles all over the wash- especially on the top shelf.

Great! Works very well – This is my first ever dishwasher so I have nothing to compare it with but it does everything I'd expect from a dishwasher and that is clean dishes well. Even baked on cookware come up sparkling. I'd only have to re-wash an item if I didn't stack properly as I'm still getting used to that side of things. While it's not annoyingly noisy, it's… Read more

definately not whisper quiet. By buying direct from the company, they can also install for you (for a fee) so you can have it up and running quite quickly. I also chose this brand instead of some of the others in the price range because of the build quality. The inside cavity is ss compared to others which have more plastic. It does the job it's meant to do, and very well. There's nothing I don't like about this dishwasher but it would be handy to have a cycle completion alarm.

Cleans well enough but not sure it is worth the extra $ – Bought this model mainly for the low noise level for an open plan kitchen and it is pretty quiet. Has a really long wash cycle (2 1/2 hours for normal wash), so not very practical to run a load through just before the guests arrive. Washing ability not great if run on the shorter settings. Also throws plastic containers around a lot so leaves them… Read more

full of soapy water. Love the movable cutlery basket. Not sure if it cleans any better than my previous 15 year old fisher and paykel at half the price. Fairly quiet, movable cutlery basket Looong run time (2 1/2 hours for normal wash)

Great Diswasher!! – I've now had this new machine for a month & only good news to report!Delivered at the EXACT day & time directly from Asko. Very impressed. I unpacked & installed myself (I was replacing my old machine). All fitted perfectly. Good instruction book to follow. Machines washes & amazingly drys everything so well! That's with the drying option… Read more

switched OFF!! Plastic stuff is still a bit wet, but I just prop the door open & they all drip dry OK.

I only use the quicker "Daily Wash" option & everything is still washed well. I don't even use the most expensive brand tablets either. Does everything Asko said it would & more so! nothing so far.

Good – I have had this machine since the start of the year and have no regrets about buying it. An old saying but very true, you get what you pay for. very neat looking machine,no knobs and is child proof which is a big plus. It is very quiet which is what I expected for a dishwasher at the price that it is and washes very very well even on the quick wash. None really except that the normal wash cycle is long but one third of that is drying time.

Excellent and reliable dishwasher – We've had this dishwasher for about 9 months now. We have the stainless steel model which is very attractive. We had a slightly smaller than average cavity under our bench (59cm) so only a few dishwashers would fit and we were limited for choice. The Asko D5131SS slotted in perfectly and has not disappointed us. We are a small family and use this… Read more

for all our dishes including plastic children's plates and our pots and pans. We use it every 1-2 days and haven't ever had a problem with it leaving residue on the dishes or not cleaning thoroughly. We use the 'normal wash' setting though, as we found the 'daily wash' wasn't quite thorough enough. It is quite a long wash cycle but it includes a drying cycles which is useful for unloading the dishes. One annoyance is the plastic dishes don't seem to dry even after a long drying cycle. Regardless, we are very happy with this machine. It is a bit more than we would have liked to have paid, but we were limited in our choice due to space so we have been very happy with what we ended up with. Reliable, attractive, easy to use, cleans very well Expensive, plastics don't dry even after long drying cycle

Terrible – We went with the Asko after a recommendation from a friend and the salesperson. What mistake as our primary requirement was quiet operation. Ni surprise that this machine is going back. We'll be getting a Bosch or Blanco as a replacement. Does a good job washing. Flexible layout inside. VERY noisy for a machine described as a dish whisperer.

Good – Although this machine comes at a high cost, if you can afford to pay the extra this machine is certainly worth considering. I have the SS machine and it's a very good looking appliance. It runs quietly and washes very well, even with a cheaper detergent. Cleaning it is easy as well. The price is high but you get what you pay for. The heavy wash… Read more

takes almost three hours (inluding hot wash and drying time) however it cleans a burnt pot so is worth the wait.

OK – I am impressed by the dishwasher in many ways. It is only early days so hopefully it will comtinue to perform. I paid the bigger dollars to get something that would last, look and function great and would be quiet. I have got everything I asked for EXCEPT IT IS LOUD, I am not sure what ASKO's definition is of quiet. Looks great for a white… Read more

dishwasher, has some great features such as child lock on door and electronic panel. Washes the dishes great I don't even have to rinse. Definately not quiet. I looked into so many with so many reps and I really wanted something quiet as we have a small house and I was willing to pay the dollars to get that. I was told this would be the best pick by many however there is no way it is quiet certainly not a dish whisper. The racks don't have as many options as some do.

OK – We got the Asko D5131 dishwasher delivered and installed today so it's very early days. The old Kleenmaid Crystal was 12 years old and falling apart, but it was just as noisy and took a third of the time to still do an adequate job. Right now at the first wash I am a bit disappointed. I have it on the Normal setting, taking a whopping 1hr 55… Read more

minutes to wash a regular load, I'll be using the Quick setting next time - at a more reasonable 45 minutes that is something I can cope with. It is early days, but definately not quiet. It was cheaper than the German brands Its should be called the "Dish Yeller" this is no whisper quiet machine, I can here it from where I am and that is two rooms away. The normal cycle is over an hour long - how can this be water and energy efficient?
