Never buy Asko, they are very noisey with very poor tech support – Bought this machine in good faith, paying extra for quality. The machine was delivered and installed by an Asko trained installer, after 4years the machine started making loud bangs, Asko tech came out to no avail, called again, was not believed, Tech came out again and changed support strut, the banging was worse. The technician bills adding up.… Read more
I have just been to Stan cash to purchase another machine ( not assco ) and was told Asko Know about this fault. Asko come out and fix your machine for free this time and reimburse me the money i have spent on your so called Technicians
Avoid buying – I bought the Asko W 6564 , back in 2017 , as I wanted a good quality brand , that would go the distance . I treated it kindly , used minimal detergent, and have just been told by my service technician, that two of the cylinder supports are broken .( it had started making a terrible sound on the fast spin )The machine washed well , but I would… Read more
definitely expect the structural integrity of the machine to last at minimum, 10 years , not just over 5 ! That will without a doubt , be the last Asko washer, I ever purchase !
Never buy Asko Again – Bought this machine 6 years, thought was a premium brand will last for more than 10 years. Paid more than $1700 for this machine. Now every time when i try to spin, machine will make very loud noise and i have to stop it. Check on website, their service fee is very high, $140 for call out, and then charge $35 per every 15 minutes. And this does… Read more
not guarantee a 100% fix.
The internal machine very easy to build up dirt too, all the black stuff around inner drum.
I will never buy ASKO again, with this amount of investment, i can buy a much better machine with 10 years warranty.

Overpriced useless machine – Purchased about 6 years ago following my previous ASEA dying after 25 years Rubber fell off, detergent area all rusty within 6 months and F11 regular feature as just won't spin or drain properly Show details

Only one way to describe junk. JUNK – Had this washer since about 2018. Like most, purchased due to reputation and alleged quality. It has admittedly washed very well on the short 80 minute cycle. Not so. By the end of 2019 it had an annoying squeak when operating. Asko by then had no service people due to the beginning of a pandemic! Local 'agents' came, changed a control board… Read more
which was not connected properly and broken and failed to resolve the issue. Early January they removed a coin from the lint trap and told me all good. The squeak remains.
Now it trips the power. 6 weeks to get a service person out - local 'agents' again as ASKO will not service out of warranty units!
Insult to injury. I have informed ASKO that due to the impossiblity or servicing which they refuse to do, and the remaining issues, now getting worse, this unit was not fit for purpose and under my rights I wanted a refund. Their response was to offer a discount on the most expensive machine they have! Yes, pay them ANOTHER $1.3K for the privilege of having a rubbish washer!
Off to Fair trading for us.
Asko wonderful – I bought my Asko second hand for $50 from a local charity. Looked like the previous owner never cleaned it or cared. After I gave it the once over, I love it, it's fantastic! Washing cycles are so handy, spins almost dry, or can be adjusted to change the spin speeds. I don't overload it and don't need to use as much detergent. I clean y Asko with… Read more
vinegar and bicarb every other month and basically look after it! It's water efficient and energy efficient! When it does die I don't think I could afford a new one sadly but would recommend Asko. UPDATE 2024..This ASKO machine is still going strong however we will be updating to a larger size front loader as 7kg is fine for two people but I'd like to be able to wash our king doona and underlay. Not sure why this model had so many complaints, can't say I've had any.
20/12/2024 Just called Asko Customer Service today because my washer has a bad smell. Great advice given to me by their Customer Service! My washer is still going strong apparently a 2016 model so I cannot complain.
We would never go back to top load washers – We had a Fisher and Paykel top load washer and moved to a 7kg Asko Front Load washer. We have a family of four, the 7kg is more suited to two people perhaps we will move up to an 8.5kg next time, we wouldn't need any bigger. Our Doonas go to the local laundry service for $25 each I am not going to wreak our washer as Doonas are like big Tampons,… Read more
they suck the water in and what was 4kg is now 10kg which puts a massive load on any washer. Friends by washers to suit their Donnas - I don't know if I am missing something here but I only wash my doonas once a year and $25 each is a great investment to ensure they are washed correctly and I don't stuff my washer up by asking it to do more than it should.
This machine has never let us down, it has always washed our clothes clean from filthy mechanics overalls to silk pillow cases. It is a lot kinder on our clothes than the old agitator top loaders and kinder on my back as I no longer have to bend forward and lift up heavy loads our of a drum, I just drag them out into my laundry basket this has certainly helped me with my back/shoulder/neck injury.
We love the way is spins the clothes dry. They are that dry that putting them on the clothes line would be stupid. 10 minutes in the dryer and away we go. We have not used the clothes line at all since we have bought the Asko Front Load Washer and;
Our power bill took a steep drop down, the Asko uses hardly any electricity at all. It is quite except when it does the 1600rpm final spin but that is not a lot of noise and it is only for a few minutes.
We have ordered a new Asko Heat Pump Dryer to go on top of the washer so I will let you know how that goes. If I couldn't afford an Asko Washer/Dryer I would go for the matched pair in LG or Fisher and Paykel, friends own them and love them too. I don't think there will be any top load washers around in a couple of years time, I know I tell all of my friends to get a front load washer, many cannot work out why there is no lint filter on a front load washer, that is because lint is caused by the damage done to your clothes, that is what lint is. We use the quick cycle 30 mins or 45 mins with a extra rinse or the auto cycle for real dirty clothes. We purchased the extended 5 year warranty as we always do on major appliances.

My one is great until it developed a squeak! – Never had a problem with this machine... until it developed an annoying squeak. After having it for 4 years. Doesn’t happen with every wash, but you certainly notice it. This is our second Asko front loader, bought this one as we loved our first one which we had for 10 years. Show details
This is a good product – Good quality washing machine, clothes has been washed very clean. High rating for water and electricity saving. But the looking is a bit plaint, doesn’t have a very fancy looking Show details
LOVE IT! – I love my washing machine. I have had it for about 5 years now and it has never let me down. I even brought a second one for home. It spins the clothes almost dry and i also love how the rubber ring is on the door it make's it a lot easier to clean Show details

never get ASKO again – Bought this Asko washer 6564 for $1500 in 2014. (8 years ago) for a retired couple so not too many washes. The computer started to play up so called the technician and was advised the computer needs to be changed!!! quote of $850.00. Asko used to make quality products but alas that is gone. I will not buy Asko again. I am better off to get… Read more
$500.00 machine and change them every 5 years. Still better off. Asko , I am disappointed with you as I have Asko for dishwahing and washing machine but will change .
Pretty crap from Asko , second machine - all with same issue – This is the second asko we have had, W6564, and just shy of 3 years it has given an F11 error. Not draining at all. We have checked all the drainage, pipes, coin trap, clean it 3 times - all to no avail. All those review with 4+ stars are pretty misleading. Show details
Poor value for money. What has happened to ASKO's quality standards? – I have to replace this machine after only 7 years of light service (1 person household) Door seal needed replacement; now getting machine oil leaks on clothes! Rust around detergent dispenser compartment. Previous ASKO washer (bought 22 years ago) NEVER missed a beat! Go for a better brand. Show details

Terrible – My washing machine MODEL W6564 W washing for to long sometimes washing cycle goes for all day
Disappointing – I purchased the largest washing machine about a year ago which was the recommended brand. I was not able to purchase a stand as they don’t make them to suit this size. Very noisy have to shut laundry door to block noise. Also cannot use dishwasher washer at night as it’s noisy too. Both machines come recommended from two suppliers. The sales… Read more
people obviously didn’t own them. Disappointing to say the least especially when you pay big dollars you would think that they would be better.
Thought it would be affordably repairable for that cost – I chose this machine for its longevity and repairability according to my research I do not like landfill I wash corporate and jeans wear, towels, sheets and floor mats. Settings washed clothes beautifully and gently for delicate stuff and cleaned away heavy soil well. The wash times were long but the clothes came out very very clean. I liked the… Read more
dash board features but was dubious about the longevity of the computer boards(2) I noticed that the dial was not lighting up on random cycles as i turned it bit assumed it was a light not a board error. It was aboard error! Spin cycle was not emptying so had to transport machine to town I missed by a couple of months on my extended warranty due to Covid and the fact it was too heavy for my husband and i to load into the car....there no rural washing machine repair people. The selector board and the operating board were $600 each to replace. I opted to only have the operating board replaced due to finances and the other was working if gently turned. Now only have ‘delicates’ on the selector so have to find another $600 and lift it into the car again. I will be breaking even so i will have it repaired I still dont want to contribute to landfill! Why does one small computer board cost $600?....its surely just planned obsolescence...... Have a care for this poor old planet Asko And now its been discontinued!!!!!
Reliable for 2yrs. Springs broke after and it doesnt stabilise – Paid a lot of money for this unit. I think its best to get a cheaper model that you can throw out after 5 years and get a brand new one. things are not made to last anymore when you go for expensive brands. Show details

Very Disappointed – I have had 2 Asko front loaders. Was very pleased with the first one for performance, water use, dryness of the spin, quietness and ease of use. It lasted 13 years. Replaced it with a new Asko 4 years ago. Happy with it's performance until yesterday when it died. Prohibitive cost to repair so buying a new machine which will NOT be an Asko! I thought I was buying quality but obviously not. Show details
Noisy rust bucket – Totally disappointed bought what I believed to be a top named product from Sweden, but within the first 12 months we had techs out on 3 seperate occasions To fix the spin cycle as all the neighbours could hear it, sounded like an aircraft taking off. In the end the only part not replaced was the cabinet which started rusting after 6 years, what… Read more
happened to 15 years. Also found out not Made in Sweden, as stated on the cabinet. Will never recommend or buy another Asko product.
timing – the programming of the machine needs fixing in the factory . not on site. The programmer should have spend more time at school It just goes on 2 programs the rest if you are lucky Show details
Stay away from Asko – I bought this machine in 2013. It worked OK for the first two years and then started leaking and wild vibration with noise. This was bought from Harvey Norman where the salesman described it being a high quality product. The price was certainly high. It is beyond my belief that now-a-days one can consciously sell such a poorly made product. Show details

Stay away from Asko – I purchased this machine in 2012. I received a DOA machine, Asko replaced very quickly I must admit. But every since we got the replacement machine has had problems. Warranty replaced several parts. Asko is very secretive about what they replace. Machine moves everywhere goes out of balance very quickly, rusty detergent section. I bought it… Read more
because on papers shows to be the most water and energy efficient in the market getting a 5 stars, but 1 star in quality and durability. Stay away from Asko.
Terrible washing machine for price we paid – This washing machine has been nothing but trouble. We have regrettably been stuck with it for years as we paid so much for it we couldn’t afford a new one. We had technicians come out within the first month as it leaks and has leaked ever since. He told us we overfilled it and could only wash 1 towel at a time and a pair of jeans at a time. I… Read more
thought that was absolutely ridiculous as I’ve never had to do that previously to my washing machines and this one is supposed to be “top of the range”. It’s constantly coming up with errors even though the filter is clean and nothing is clogging it. I wish I never listened to the salesman and picked LG as I had an LG washing machine that lasted over 10 years.
I’m sick and tired of having a puddle in the laundry every time I use it. We have an asko dishwasher and it’s fantastic. This washing machine must be a dud but the customer service people were so rude to me as it’s now out of warranty and basically told me to get lost and it’s my problem for not calling sooner even though I had called within warranty period and they would never send another technician out without a call out fee because one had already been in the first month to fix the problem. Asko really need to get their act together.
Piece of junk ( expensive junk) – Pump broke down twice in 3 years, detergent dispenser never worked properly. Now it comes with flashing display at the end of cycle, can't open the door even after power down. For that sort of money I expected at least 4-5 years trouble free. That's it, I had it. Off to the tip. Show details
W6564 brushless motor never wears out.......now I know why – I bought the machine $1800 plus because my wife will run it pretty well every day. I thought fair enough go the best buy Asko, with a brushless motor to boot. Machine lasted 4 years, then one day it just stopped. Why.......Im guessing the circuit board. Turns on fills with water as per cycle - counts down whilst its filling but then when it should… Read more
spin the motor ( and doesnt ) the timer stops.
To reset the machine: turn off the machine with the power button, wait 5 seconds and then hold down the key button ( door lock ) and whilst holding the door lock button, turn it back on. This is supposed to do a total reset. By the way this didnt help me. I wont be buying Asko again
what a piece of junk – We purchased a top of the line washing machine and dryer. after 6 years we have had 6 major faults over the two machines. The dryer had 3 faults so they replaced it. after about 2 years it broke down again , while it was in being repaired they noticed it took a long time to dry and told us the heat pump has packed up and will cost over $1000 to… Read more
fix on top of the other repair. so that is in the bin its junk. I cant sell the washing machine as it has gone rusty all around the soap filler and needs a whole new front and soap drawer.
I can not wait to get rid of this over priced rubbish, the crap only lasts a couple of years not the 20 Plus years we were told at the point of sale, don't buy this rubbish.
Doesn’t go the distance – We have had our Asko front loader 7 years. Have been happy up to now . Only complaint that door is rather hard to close, needs a very firm push. Purchased an Asko expecting it would last at least 15 years but after extremely loud noise on spin and had someone out to look at it . Bearings need replacing , $650 to fix . unfortunately no extended… Read more

Looked Good At First – This is our second Asko, the first one was the old "lasts twenty years" type and we only got rid of it due to travelling overseas. This new on is just not as well made and I am a little disappointed with it. It runs OK but they seem to be suing cheap sheet metal these days - no way this will last 10 years. The boy will definitely give up before that,. Not as good as they used to be!
such a waste of money!!!!! – I had a cheap machine before which lasted for over 10 years and still was in a working condition when I had to get rid of it. machine every 5 years than to be stuck with the expensive one after 5 years...with just expired extended warranty.
Not thrilled – Bought this expensive machine because we expected it to out last any previous cheaper machines. Cleans quite well and is economical water wise however has developed an extremely loud rattle and cuts the main power off to the house. Leave it switched off for three days and it starts up again but gets to the spin cycle and blows everything again. Had repair man out twice. Going to replace with one of the much cheaper brands. Not happy. Show details
It washes and it's strong – Yes it washes no problems there and it is good on delicates and permanent press. It however, flatly refuses to spin just one item - overbalances EVERYTIME regardless of how evenly it is placed in the drum. I have to chuck a towel in with it to balance the load - the only way out. After 9 months it needed a bearing replaced - service was no… Read more
fuss, easy and no questions asked.
One positive is that it is strong - I retrieved a USB, lego, three nails a marble and $1.40 in coins from the pump filter...I've heard stories of other machines being ripped apart by a bobby pin. This was a major selling point for us.
It does what it's meant to do...it washes, it's very quiet...perhaps a bit smaller (load capacity) than I anticipated but overall good. The $1700 was hard to swallow but at least the nails didn't rip this one's innards out!
Wanted this machine to be like my last Asko – After having a Asko that had had lasted many years. I decided to get another, on the whole it has worked to an acceptable standard. it washed and spun as it was supposed to. I live by myself so the machine was not overworked. put a load on after work, and went to put the washing out an hour and a half later I went to the machine and there was no lights on. I checked the fuse box that was ok. so it was a total failure of the machine. Got my washing out and washed at my brothers. Thank you.
Cleared out my laundry to check power lead. that was ok. So surmised that the motherboard had gone the machine would not light up.
Came to the Product Review to see if anyone else had had the same problem. there was.
noticed that to have a repair person to fix the problem the cost would be about $600. So a toss up whether to call somebody in and wait, or get a new Machine. which is what I did.
I did take the top cover off to see if pests had got in, they had not, and no burnt smell
Pity the machine worked well. a bit noisy winding up the spin cycle.
Oh yes. it was a Swedish made Asko
Worth the price tag, saves me hours – All cycles are flawless Runs a great quick cycle Perfect for delicates, silk dresses are absolutely fine on the wool delicate wash, I was nervous at first but I think the machine is easier on the clothing than me hand washing. Fantastic. It is not too loud. Absolutely love it Show details
Good machine - door hard to close – Purchased the Asko W6564 - my first front loader. The machine when delivered has bolts in the back of it to ensure it is not damaged in transit. excellent. I have never had fluff etc on cloths, and being a male, I dont separate washing by fabric, color etc. The machine has a very fast spin 1600 rpm. The only negative is the front door is hard to close - and slamming it closed will result in an expensive repair. I push the door close then with my hand still in place, hit the back of this hand with my free hand - this works well. I cannot get the 'flick' action Asko suggest. Asko generally have a fixed price - hence purchase when they have a $100.00 off deal!!-
