Good but short life – Bought it in 2019 and it worked well for us for the past 3 years until it broken down recently.. the display started to play up then it stopped boiling in the middle of a session. I like the temperature features and I will buy a similar one. It’s a shame that none of the kettles I have bought so far lasted more than 3 years  Show details

Not good – Non-intuitive bad design. Manual doesn’t instruct how to disable keep warm function at all. Would not recommend this brand. Waiting to hear back from the manufacturer. Also can’t turn off beep. EDIT: Advise from support: Turn off the kettle! Wondering if this company is getting some kind of reward from energy companies to waste as much… Read more

Good Kettle – The kettle is fast at heating, and the digital temperature screen has taken the guess work out of making baby bottles. I was skeptical whether or not the kettle would be durable for the price and if it would last very long, considering the work load it would be under having to use it continuously for heating/making baby bottles and that it would… Read more

be used many times throughout the day and night, but, I have been pleasently surprised after 13 months it is still going strong and we’ve had no calcium build up even though we do not use filtered water.

The up and down buttons to manually adjust the temp by 5° stopped working after only 3 months which was disappointing, but, the pre-programmed temp buttons still works fine.

I chose this kettle over other temperature control kettles because it was one of the cheapest on the market, and because it has more temperature functions than other leading brands. It also allows you to manually adjust temps by 5°, rather than in lots of 10° like other leading brands (even though my manual increment buttons stopped working).

The kettle does have a loud beep when turned on at the power point and three loud beeps at the end once it is finished boiling, it also beeps every time you push a button to program a temp or begin boiling. It would be good if you could select to turn this down (or off) as it is very loud and wakes the baby, plus it has luminating lights around the buttons which show when the button is activated so the sound is just an additional feature. The kettle turns itself off after being left unused for approx an hour or so, which is good if you forget to turn it off at the wall to save power, but, it is also a downside as when you want to use it you have to switch it off at the wall for 5 seconds and back on again, then it will beep loudly (I guess to acknowledge it’s on?) which is annoying if you want to try to sneak a quiet coffee/tea in while the baby is sleeping.

The outside of the kettle becomes very hot after boiling which I prefer as it’s a good indication of how hot the water is inside, instead of ones that mask the heat.

Given the pros/cons and comparing it to other kettles with similar functions for double or triple the cost, I would still definitely consider buying this kettle again.

For the short time it worked, it worked well – I received this as a gift to replace one that had finally given up after many years of service. It is a digital kettle and I was initially sceptical about needing to know the exact temperature of the water. I did find that the lowest pre-set temperature (40 degrees) was extremely useful when I wanted to wash a single pot and not waste all that… Read more

water/gas to fill the sink.

Unfortunately Google suggests that other digital kettles supply only various high temperatures supposedly needed for various types of tea so I can’t replace this with a similar functional model that heats just to a dish-washing “hot” temperature.

However, after some 6 to 8 months use, the displayed temperature started to oscillate, swinging widely from (actual) cold to past 40 – and hence turn itself off. Switching to full boil and the supposed temperature would oscillate between cold (20-) to the 90’s.

So basically, the reason for paying a premium failed after less than a year (and, as a gift, I can’t return it to Target under warranty).

===

It's a month since I wrote the above. Neither the LCD display nor the on/off power light now show except at random times. The kettle no longer turns off at all when it hits boiling and has to be turned off manually at the wall.

I’ve now junked it.

A really great kettle at a great price – We bought this because it seemed to have all the features of much more expensive kettles. We've had it for about 6 months, and It has been surprisingly good. It has a range of temperatures, boils quickly, is reasonably quiet, beeps when ready, etc. The only thing that is a bit tricky is the fact that the water level window is "under" the… Read more

handle, so it is impossible to see how much water is in there when you are filling it from the tap. You have to turn off the tap, lift it up, check it and then add more water as necessary.

Another thing that some reviewers have mentioned is that you have to "re-set" the temperature you want each time you use it. This is true, but it is literally a matter of seconds. No biggie. Same with turning the power on; you have to hold down the power button for a few seconds to make the display light up if the power has been off. Again, this is a matter of seconds. I'm not saying this won't annoy some people, but really, it is a very minor issue.

It seems that some other reviewers have complained about the noise, but we have not found it to be any noisier that our old kettle; in fact, it might be a bit quieter. The beep that you hear when the water has boiled is absolutely fine, and I think anyone complaining about it is really splitting hairs. For under $50, I think this is a real bargain.

Great product – The kettle features a temperature select base with an auto keep warm setting. Made out of stainless steel with a digital display. Easy to clean with a good size opening. I have only swapped it out for a new one under warranty once, it is still going strong almost 3yrs later. Show details

Good kettle resonable price – Bought this at first to make bottle of milk for my little girl at the right temperature, love using it, still going after 3yrs. Love that you can pick the temperature of heating the water for making teas. It shows the water level very clearly with the indecater. Great product.  Show details

Great for temperature selection – Recently purchased kettle for the temperature setting to make baby formula bottles, super handy and quick to reach desired temperature, the beep noise is a little louder, but I'm sure I'll get used to it. Sleek chrome looks good on bench, as I like a less cluttered look! Happy with it!!  Show details

Decent but you also get what you pay for – Have gone through two of these kettles in 2 years. They seem to last just long enough to be out of warranty and then they die. We’re going to try the Kogan smart kettle next, only $20 more expensive but can do the same temp features and it can be done from your phone or using google assistant or Alexa. Recommend looking around before purchasing this one, it’s cheap but you do get what you pay for.

Noisy!!! – Do not waste your money!! This kettle is the most irritating appliance to ever enter my household. Thank god for that, so I had a good excuse to return it! Junk.

This Bellini BTK615 digital kettle could be the best in the market – Bought it from Target 22/09/2015, I am using it now for 5 years too many times daily (and my niece for 4 years) without any problem. Lasted 30 months – I liked this kettle. It occasionally had a mind of its own but just by turning it off at the socket and letting it rest for a few minutes fixed it. But today, "BANG". Another Piece of Landfill – Water started leaking out of the level indicator chamber and onto the electrical pad after about a year and we had to throw it. On/Off push button is fiddly and temperamental. Also very noisy loud beeping on boil which is unnecessary. We never used the fancy temperature controls - all I want is a reliable jug that boils water... and this was not it.  Show details

Very good for the price – Initial impression after a couple of days - will update with my long term review at a later stage: Pros: - low cost compared to the others - wide temperature range (40 - 100C) - fine control over the temperature (5 deg C steps in the keep-warm mode. There are others that provide 1 deg steps, but 5 is still very good) - high power (2200W)… Read more

for all intents & purposes it's as fast as my standard 2400W kettle

- large capacity (1.7L)

- temperature regulation is accurate (verified with high quality thermometer), and in keep-warm mode, the temperature doesn't have to drop far before the heating element turns on again. (about 3 deg).

Cons:

- water gauge is behind the handle, so it's hard to see whilst filling. (what a silly design!)

- the controls and display are rather non-intuitive.

- has a much higher *minimum* fill line (800mL) than my standard kettle of similar capacity (300mL).

Stopped working, Piercing noise – Worked ok for around 2 years, but one day turned on & it wouldn't start the heating process. Just sat there displaying 20 degrees & that's all. While it was working had a piercing beep when it reached boil point. The annoying power-off at Standby mode which is detailed in many of the reviews was very annoying. Would not recommend & I'll never buy a full-featured digital kettle ever again.  Show details

Rubbish for the price – Considering the age of this kettle I would of expected it to last longer, the buttons get stuck sometimes which rendered it useless until they pop out again the text around each button wore off within the first month and it sometimes leaks must be when it’s in a mood. But don’t waste your money just spend a little more to get a quality kettle.  Show details

Great Kettle at a great cost – We have had this Kettle for well over 12 months and it has been fantastic out of the box. We have not had a problem whatsoever. A cheap kettle with temperature selections. It works... so far – The Bellini BTK615 is one of the cheaper temperature controlled kettles out there (< $60 delivered). It has a nice metal finish, with good temperature selections from 30-100 degrees. I've had no problems so far except the button labels are starting to come off. The beeps can be a little annoying as well. It handled the many hot water bottles during winter fine. Update: stopped working in late 2019 so after 2 years. Show details

Temperature selection at a good price – Being a coffee drinker, I wanted to be able to set the temperature, and this kettle was half the price of the other I had looked at. Good kettle but they play up a lot – After owning two of these kettles I gave up and switched brands. The idea of having the electronic panel to control temperature was nice in theory, but it played up constantly- it wouldn't turn on or off at times, it wouldn't beep when the water was boiled as it was supposed to. I was hoping maybe I'd just received a dodgy one, but the second one was exactly the same.  Show details

Not as good as the old one – I loved my old kettle because it was perfect, so when it began to play up I had to buy a new one. I don't like becasue it marks so easily, it is slightly squat and takes up more space than the old one. However, the first really annoying thing I found is that the water indicator is behind the handle, pretty stupid I think as it isn't easy to see. Secondly, you can alter the temperatures but as it doesn't automatically reset when you lift it, the temperature has to be checked before use or the water might not get to the temperature you want. Then there is the thing about pressing the button a long time then again and it very slowly starts to boil. Lastly, the noise. It drowns out the TV. It's incredible. On the plus side, it does hold a lot of water, has a long cord and you can chose any temperature by degrees. Of course hubby disagrees with me and likes it.

Agree with Kenny of Townsville – We have had our Bellini kettle for longer than any other with heavy cup of tea use every single day. We bought it when it first came out and paid nearly double what you can buy one for new now. I would say 7 years ago. It is quite a long time. We are in our current home 3 years and easily had it 3 years more prior to that. We LOVE the kettle… Read more

and do not mind the loud three beeps when boiled because we home office and work at opposite ends of the house to the kitchen. Put on the kettle, go back to work, hear the beeps, make tea. Or, put on the kettle, get on the rebounder and know when the beeps start, one has had 4 minutes exercise. So I use it as a timer, and the beeps present NO problem.

But there is a problem and that is, that water will eventually leak and do your kettle in. We had no idea why it was pooling water underneath at first and now know thanks to the other reviewer. At the same time, our kettle is old enough to retire so we will be getting another one.

Note: the leak started after about 3-4 years, which is still longevity in my books for kettles. We just kept going, it was slight not a huge inconvenience, mopping up, more recently air-drying the base, but we wont solder up the kettle, we are not that handy. Time for it to go. And yes, we used to buy cheap kettles and expensive ones, trying them out, and they regularly broke down and had to be tossed at a maximum of 2 years, so this Bellini model is the best we have had.

Finally, the fact it boils water up to a 100 degrees is a huge plus in our estimation as we like water to be boiled crisp and hot so our cups of tea (made with real tea leaves of course) are always bright and piping hot.

UPDATE: 12 Months Later - Feb 2017

I felt it only fair to come back 12 months later, after purchasing the new Bellini, same model, and give an update.

Our near 12 month month old purchase is not as robust as the first. Granted the same model is much cheaper than it used to be, so probably the product is being produced cheaper...

An issue we have is that when you press the "on" button and walk away, it often goes off again, so you have to check to make sure that it is really heating the water. This started when about 9 months old.

If you have spilt water on the base, and it often happens if filling the kettle quickly and water drops down its side and onto the base - that water can upset the heating mechanism. But our first kettle didn't bother with this until it was a few years old.

So, the Bellini kettle in stock is not as good as the old one. Next kettle I have decided will be a 2 litre heavy glass one from another manufacturer. They are pricier, so I won't be so thrilled to find if the product price has dropped, as did the Bellini, because it won't necessarily mean the quality is retained.

I ultimately had to revise my original glowing comment. I still give it a 4 but it really is a 3.7
