Black & Decker 14.4 V Cyclonic Action DustBuster CHV1408

Powerful DustBuster – As far as dustbusters go, this is a great one. Having tried cheaper dustbusters in the past which are so lacking in power they hardly pick anything up, this Black & Decker 14.4V is great in comparison. Of course it's not going to replace a normal vacuum cleaner but for jobs such as cleaning the car it's great. It's compact, has good power and suction, and not too loud. It's also great just for small jobs in the house, especially on tiles, e.g. if you want to do a quick vacuum in the kitchen without getting the big vacuum cleaner out. The battery also lasts a good amount of time and it recharges relatively quickly.
Design fault means all the dust ends back on the floor – This machine has a design flaw which means that when you carry it with the machine off, all the dust and debris falls past the flimsy rubber barrier and back out of the head of the machine! So you end up with even more of a mess than when you started. It has happened so many times that I no longer bother using it. Ridiculous!
Excellent – This model also comes with a couple of attachments for cleaning hard to reach places. I have found Black & Decker are sturdy makers of appliances, so I expect this will keep going for some time without problems. This is a great little dustbuster. I have had this model since 2004 and never had any problems with it. I use it primarily to clean the floors in the bathroom, and it had proved great for skim-cleaning the surface inbetween major cleans. It's also good for cleaning the surface of the car carpet. There is nothing that I do not like about this product.
Excellent – I would definitely recommend this product as a very good handheld vacuum. I've had other handhelds before that can only pick dirt from smooth surfaces -- mostly useless. When my wife asked me to get a really good one, I hesitantly agreed and got this Black and Decker model. No regrets and I now have a better appreciation of the use of handheld vacuums. I still get annoyed when I'm cleaning the plastic dome and the filter, but it's a trade off for not having a bag and not losing much power as dirt accumulates. As a handheld vacuum, this one really sucks -- in a good way :)
I've had this for more than a year now and I found it very handy for quick cleaning and job is too small for my upgright vacuum. It picks up dirt from tiles, carpet, and inside the car. The extendable nose and built in crevice tool allows you to get into tight spaces and the brush shakes out dirt as you vacuum. It doesn't have a bag so it's economical to use. You can also see when it needs emptying as the dustbowl is transparent. I don't find it heavy or noisy though I only use it about 5 mins at a time. Emptying it clean can be a bit involving. There are 3 levels to remove dirt from:
1) Dustbowl -- easy to clean
2) Plastic dome with pinholes -- needs effort to remove stuck dirt in the pinholes
3) Filter cone -- needs quite a shake to get the dust off
