Blanco BFD5X / BFD5W

Less than impressed – Have had this model dishwasher for four years. Luckily I purchased the extended warranty plan the retailer offered extending the 2 year factory warranty to 5 years. I have had to use the warranty plan 3 times so far. Within 12 months the electronic board had to be replaced. After two and a half years the plastic parts within the drying racks disintegrated and needed replacing. Now after four years the dishwasher electronics have stopped working altogether, which is the third warranty claim. So my hopes of it lasting long after the extended 5 year warranty period has finished is not high at all. On each warranty service occasion it took between 2-3 weeks for the dishwasher to be repaired.

All and all I would recommend that people steer well clear of this model and possibly this brand as well. Smart finish. Cleans dishes. Breaks down quickly. Parts wear out quickly. Bit of a wait for warranty service.

Never again will I buy Blanco! – Within 6 mths of having this dishwasher the electrical board had to be replaced. A week later the whole dishwasher had to be replaced. Now onto our 2nd dishwasher the same thing has happened again. This time it has taken the repair co over 10 weeks to diagnose the problem and realise it needs replacing yet again!! Unreliable, Blanco's service, regret ever buying it.

Terrible – Wouldn't recommend this dishwasher to anyone. My parents have a bosch which works perfectly. Wait for parts is long - I don't even think Blanco knows how to fix this. Service department is helpful though. not much at the moment Have had the service repair man out 4 times. Problem still not fixed. Initially heater went (after 3 weeks), they changed the heater (that works now) and the mother board then the start button wouldn't work. The mother board has been changed 3 times and problem still there. Plus it makes a clicking sound when on. At least we can still use it I guess. The repair man was telling me about another lady with this dishwasher who was having the same problems, but hers wouldn't work! I am fighting for a new dishwasher now. Not very happy at all. Luckily we only paid $660 and got a free Blanco microwave. Can't believe the RRP is over $1200.

Good – a real surprise... now a Blanco fan. This is the quietest dishwasher we have ever owned and cleans as well as any other. Very good unit with fair energy credentials but very good operation. Recommended. extremely quiet

Terrible – Give blanco a miss as you have to wait weeks to get service and then parts take almost as long. In my opion if you buy a blanco product your on your own!! Looks good. Quiet. Broke down after only 11 months with a burn out. No after sales service at all. Would rate L.G product's higher. Give Blanco a miss. I would contact the warranty agent before I purchase anything else to see what their after sales service and parts are like as Blanco has none!!!!
