Bodum Chambord

Fairly good, but not clear how to clean it – Generally a good plunger, but the wire mesh is not that well made, it has all loose ends that stab me whenever I go to clean it. For the price I paid, I would expect a bit more of a premium steel mesh. It was not clear that I could unscrew the filter to clean it either! But a good looking design. My only concern is how strong the glass is, from my experience, these types of glass things tend to break easily. Show details
Not worth your money – We have and use Bodmin since the last 15 years but always coming back to our cheap IKEA press. Because the bodum press rusts and let to much coffee grind through the sieve. We always have to get the glass out to avoid it. Unfortunately this is with all the bodum the same. Would not buy again or recommend. Show details
Poor value for money thin glass and easily broken – This is my third Bodum coffee plunger/Brazil press and generally I like them. However, each cause of replacement has been the broken glass jug. I replaced the entire unit (jug and holder) about three weeks ago (it's now 14 November) and this morning when I came to put away the jug, which had been drying on the draining rack (it is always washed by… Read more
hand), I noticed the lip of the glass jug had a v-shaped divot taken out of it. This could well have been me as I put it into the draining rack but as I'm extremely careful, it's very disappointing to see such a chip can come from just placing the jug in the draining rack.
However, my grumble with Bodum is that the glass is surely supposed to be toughened glass, not thin glass like wine glasses, which is what the glass jug is in this case.
It's about time that the glass Bodum uses for its plungers/coffee presses is made to withstand far tougher handling than what they are currently using, and I for one won't be recommending anyone buy a Bodum unless you use kid gloves to wash it up with cotton wool.
NOT good enough Bodum, you've lost a customer
Expensive for what it is – Have this plunger when I went through the pressed coffee phase - tried the whole craze out after drinking pressed coffee at a friends house for a week or so... Purchased the Bodum press and a huge bag of Vitoria coffee which cost a packet all up. Personally what I found was that there was so much grit passing the stainless mesh of the press… Read more
that the whole cup's bottom was covered in particulates and made the coffee quiet unpleasant to drink - nothing like my mates él cheap'o press from Ikea which lets very little particles through.
The quality of the press is fantastic, with the metals still shiny and the glass is of high quality also, nothing has rusted or tarnished so there is quality there.
Anyhow went back to the instant coffee - too much fluffing around with reheating and wasting unused coffee serves... Quality built. lets too much of the coffee grind through - unpleasant end result..
Excellent – I use this occasionally when I don't want to fire up the espresso machine and it is such a nice quality coffee press to use. We also have a bigger plunger in another brand that doesn't even compare in quality. This one filters well and pushes the grinds down evenly. Coffee plungers aren't the easiest thing to clean but I don't find this one to… Read more
be too bad, I think its relatively easy. It is pricier than other brands but if you drink a lot of plunger coffee its worth it. Works great, good quality materials, does keep coffee hot for a long time.
Excellent – We like coffee but we didn't want to buy a coffee machine and instant started to taste really bad after experiencing the good stuff. So we got a coffee plunger instead. We bought this Bodum one after reading rave reviews on Amazon. It is pretty amazing. The coffee tastes awesome and unlike an old plunger the coffee is still warm after waiting 3-4… Read more
mins to brew. Clean up is simple and all parts are dishwasher safe. My only advice is to make sure your coffee beans aren't grinded too finely otherwise it will clog the filters. Best plunger in the world, or at least the best one we have used! This also comes various sizes. Nothing at all!
