Not good – Used it a couple of times now and it runs intermittently not sure if its a bad battery or the machine. Have tried to source another battery but most sellers don't sell bosh green anymore nor the batteries. I have always owned bosh blue drills etc and have had zero problems. Show details
Worth a place in the garden shed – We have a large rural / acerage garden with lots of Hedges. For years I spent hours hedging by hand hedges, this lead to chronic shoulder pain. I finally talked my husband into trying / buying an electric trimmer... we ended up getting the deal with the blower vac and bought an extra battery pack as well... We have never looked back. We find we… Read more
get a excellent life out of the battery and with the second as back up we are getting through lots hedging very quickly... it cuts well. I hedge, shubs, small trees, natives, & formal hedges. We have owned it for 2 years and this has done some serious work. I am short and really have had no trouble handling it. I think it reasonable weighted for it capability and size. I am stilled amazed at how quickly I can get through hedging. This leaves us more time to enjoy our garden. I would like to see a smaller one not the tiny hand held come on the market for smaller hedges, as you don't need the whole length for lower hedges. It took me a while to get the hang of how I wanted my plants to look but it sorted now and I would not be happier, my husband loves it too.
A perfect, easy to use and lightweight trimmer for small hedging jobs – I already own two other Bosch tools, so the battery is interchangeable. My only quibble was the fiasco I had to go through to purchase it. None of the hardware stores I contacted stocked it so I ended up going to Bosch who told me they don’t sell direct to customers. Argh! Add to that some confusion over the terminology, with the machine itself… Read more
minus the battery called the ‘skin’ (seriously, who makes up these loopy names?), I had to repeatedly stress I didn’t want the whole package which comes with battery and charger. Then when my quote finally came though at my local hardware store, it was for an entire $400.00 garden set! A simple purchase made complex thanks to too much marketing and too little common sense.
Great trimmer. Should have bought before – Having had the Bosch garden blower ALB 18LI and used with much satisfaction, we bought the Bosch AHS 48LI cordless hedge trimmer to use with the same interchangeable 18v lithium battery. The trimmer whizzes through hedges very quickly and weight isnt a problem and we are in our 70s. We even trimmed the bottlebrush trees that had thick branches… Read more
and needed a bit more effort but it did get through them. Couldnt believe it. Makes garden maintenance a breeze. Recommend.
Good to use – Just love my new Bosch hedge trimmer BUT why don't the 'makers' allow for smaller hands trying to get battery on and off ? Also, a pity it doesn't come with 2 batteries, so one can be charging while the other is in use. Overall though, it is just great and so much lighter to use. S.R
Nice and Light and no cords to get in the way! – Like this hedge trimmer very much. It is light, lasts well on its charge. I can trim three or four, light hedges with it without running out of charge. Easy to use and not heavy like many of the other garden tools which are beyond me to use strength wise for any length of time. Liked ts lightness and perfomance One thing I do have a litle trouble with is trying to put the battery in and out find it does not release so well might just be my one
OK – This was more expensive than similar products and purchased on the name - (I know everything comes out of China), but Bosch has reputation for quality. Overall a reasonably good purchase, but I will buy another battery pack for it. small, light, compact, easy to handle on a ladder trigger mechanism "sticky" and not smooth, battery time lasts less than 40 mins - not 50-55 as stated in ad.
Good – This was a great purhcase. It does what it's meant to do and I don't end up with sore forearms. If people want something that they can cut anything with they really need to consider the size, power and weight of what they are buying otherwise you'll just end up one of the many trying to offload nearly new hedge trimmers online! Happy hedge… Read more
trimming. I love this hedge trimmer. It is so light and really does the job.
I know that battery powered trimmers don't give you as much time out in the yard but I don't think that my arms would tolerate a 5kg trimmer for more than an hour anyway.
I can do a good hours worth of trimming our pittosporums around our property with ease. This is useful when your yard is far to big to be bothered with power leads too. There is only so much you can cut but I think it does a great job for the size/power.
OK – I like this hedge trimmer, although it doesn't feel very powerful it is certainly adequate for our garden. I'm extremely happy that my husband bought this one rather than a noisy, smelly petrol powered one or an electric one with a cord which can be a trip hazard and require an extension cord. We also have a battery powered Bosch drill and so… Read more
can interchange the batteries if needed. Its quiet and lightweight. It is cordless and the battery can be used with other Bosch tools. You need to adjust your grip at times to release the safety and get it started. I would prefer a little more power to cut through small branches.
