Pros: Quiet - much quieter than the F&P. Quieter than the kettle boiling.
Cons: Too many plastic gadgets & add-ons in the racks. Racks have bad angles for mugs.
Overall: Disappointed.
Thrilled that it is quiet but as far as packing & stacking, leaves a lot to be desired. Listed as a 14 place setting but it doesn't wash very well if it has more than about 8 places equivalent.
Paid a bit more than normal priced dishwashers thinking it would probably be the last one I purchased. Wish I had followed my gut feeling & stayed with the F&P that I had for 13 years.
Pros: Clear easily read and understood controls. Adjustable racks can take wine glasses. Quiet operation. Cleans full load very well on auto mode.
Cons: Nothing other than the occasional drop of water on coffee mugs after a full wash cycle.
Overall: Bought a Bosch SMU65M15AU in Nov 2010 from TGG's for $1,350. Pleased I didn't get one with the top cutlery drawer after reading reviews as it is not necessary and takes up too much space. Besides who wants to stack cutlery before AND after washing. The cutlery basket in our model works just fine. Dishwasher cleans exceptionally well and is amazingly quiet. You really have to listen hard to tell it is going (and our house is a very quiet house). Display is easily read and understood. I like the fact that you can see what cycle has finished as I am often the one to unload the D/W after a wash cycle started by my partner and this is easly distinguished from a rinse cycle. D/W does a better job of drying once I adjusted the rinse water temperature up from the default. Only get an occasional drop of water in the upside down base of a coffee mug now.
Pros: Looks good, quiet, cleans really well, love the cutlery draw.
Overall: I grade this dishwasher an A+, very, very happy with my purchase. I can see myself replacing my other kitchen appliances with other Bosch items also.
Pros: Brought an ariston LK-720 first and luckily it had a 30 day money back gaurantee if not 100% happy so it went back the next day after we had done a couple of wash cycles with it and everything came out wet wont buy ariston again. Ended up getting bosch SMU68M05AU washes very well, drying excellent also very quiet, Well designed with adjusting shelves and where the tablet drops into the handle of the top shelf good idea by bosch. Also the packaging was better than ariston had protective film so would not get scratched excellent in power and water usage compared to arriston.
Cons: Like anything new you get takes a while to get use to and where to put items as to what suits you. install instructions in german
Overall: I would recomend bosch to anyone. We had Lg model LD-12AW2 prior to this one never had any problems with it in the eight years we had it. But being so old did not have the technology of todays ones with the aqua stop plus so its a great feature to have. If we did not get bosch we would have gone lg Ld-140T2 or Ld-140T1
Pros: Very quiet, cleans and dries well, the glasses come out sparkling. Very happy with the dishwasher
Cons: Only cons are that it does not turn itself off at the end of the cycle but remains in standby, and the installation instructions are all in German.
Overall: Would recommend this product, as it is an older and more basic model I got it at a very good price. I love my bosch.

Here's a list of questions other people have asked about Bosch SMU65M15AU
I was under the impression that this dw has a salt reservoir, has the salt section in the base but does not say anything in the owners manual.
Do i add salt???
dan mallory asked on Dec 10, 2011
We generally use tablets but occasionally liquid detergent for our best gold rimmed dishes. Even though Adelaide has very hard water we have never used salt.
The Bosch 'Instructions For Use' Booklet which came with this dishwasher mentions salt on page 10. It says "Follow the instructions for use or the instructions on the detergent packaging to ensure rinse-aid and salt are used effectively'. It also says "As soon as combined detergent products are used, the rinse programme is adjusted automatically to ensure the best possible rinsing and drying result".
The only place I can see where you could add salt is in the detergent dispenser along with your detergent (ie where we use tablets). I think the salt would be quickly consumed during the washing cycle. Don't know if this would help with rinsing.
Still love this machine a year later!
