Its not a dishwasher – Plates come out more dirty than when they went in. I have to clean everything before they go in. Fuc$%ing hate it. Dont buy any bosch diswasher. Cant wait to get ride of it. Planning on throwing a brick into it and a whole bag of washing tablets. Looking at ways of blowing it up. Show details

Loved it... until it constantly threw an E15 error – This dishwasher was fantastic for the first 2-3years, then it started playing up, it got louder and started throwing an e15 error (check water) - no leaks, no blockage.. would go away after a couple of days being left off.. would work for another month then would throw the code again until one day it decided it would throw the code permanently. … Read more

Decided to get a electrician friend to have a look at it, looks like the float is stuffed & leak from main tub underneath Haven't used it since, service costs and repairs outway the benefit of fixing it..

Very disappointed that a top of the line machone of it's time didn't even last 5 years. And what's worse, it's a common problem with the bosch.. google bosch e15 error and hundreds of people have the same issue.. should've been a recall, obviously there is an issue..

This problem alone is steering me away from ever buyimg another Bosch and now I'm looking at a miele as a replacement.

Shouldn't be called a dishwasher! – I've had my dishwasher for about 4 years now. Worst thing I ever bought. No matter how much I rinse the plates, clean the filter after every wash, don't use tablets, as advised to only use powder, the plates are still dirty & the glasses are covered in scum. I have had technicians out & the advice is all conflicting. Don't use tablets, use tablets… Read more

but don't use rinse aid because the tablets already have rinse aid. Also, it doesn't completely dry the dishes. This is the first expensive dishwasher I have bought. So disappointing.

Dishwasher works well, had issues - Bosch to the recue! – We love our dishwasher - it cleans well, is economical and easy to get things done as we like them to be done. So, it went down after four years, we put a less than favourable review on here as Nat n Luke - within next to no time at all, we got a response from Bosch customer service who got us sorted with fantastic service and even took care of… Read more ·  1

the expenses, which are really an issue for us.

Seriously, Australian brand managers, if you want a lesson in how to meet and exceed customer expectations, consider yourself schooled by Bosch.

First rate service.

I cannot imagine buying anything but Bosch in any category you have a product. You've completely won us over!

Reliability a concern – So I've had the SMU69MAU for a number of years now (~4yrs?) I paid the extra for the Bosch as they seem to get good reviews on other sites. For the first 2 years it worked okay- but I wouldn't say it's ever been the best at cleaning dishes. Then a problem developed with the Rinse Aid Dispensor Low Level light never coming on to indicate the… Read more

rinse aid had run out. That didn't bother me too much. A bit later it began to finish the cycles with powder still left in the Detergent Dispensor. I worked out that the Detergent Dispensor door wasn't unlatching/ opening when required (at about 20 mins into the cycle.) So I'd set a timer to go off and manually open the dispensor door 20 minutes into the cycle.... as the warranty had expired and I didn't want to pay huge $$$ for someone to fix it.

I ended up pulling it apart myself. The Rinse Aid and Detergent Dispensor Door are actuated by the same solenoid. Partial activation of the solenoid with release the latch and the Detergent Dispenser door should open. Full activation of the same solenoid activates something similar to a syringe and it releases some rinse aid. That is also the reason why the detergent powder was left in the machine- the second activation of that solenoid (for the Rinse Aid) was tripping open the stuck Detergent Dispensor door, later in the wash cycle. The solenoid seemed fine and I could hear it activating during the cycle when the detergent door should have opened.

The rinse aid level is sensed by an optical sensor shining light through the clear rinse aid reservoir. I removed the sensor, cleaned it and cleaned all the electrical connections. That seems to have fixed the low rinse aid level as the "Low Level" light immediately lit up and has been working since then.

The Detergent Dispensor Door problem is directly related to the temperature of the wash cycle selected. "Intensive" (65 degrees) will result in the door not opening 90% of the time. "Auto" (45-65 degrees) the door will open every time. It appears the higher temperature is causing the Detergent Dispensor plastic door to warp/ expand and it then binds and won't open (confirmed by it sometimes being hard to manually release on the Intensive cycle.) The down side is the Auto cycle doesn't do a good job on cleaning the cutlery.

Bottom line - I spent ~$1600 on a top of the range dishwasher and it barely lasted past the warranty. I don't want to waste money on it getting a tech out and would rather invest the funds in something better- perhaps a Miele?

Great until it failed and the repair costs started racking up – So I've owned the dishwasher for 4 years , the unit was purchased brand new from appliances online. Who funny enough couldn't find my details for the purchase. So Bosch use service agents every except Melbourne. So my problem was the dishwasher would leak near the front the unit down the left leg and the amount water was getting more and more. … Read more

So first technician visit.

Couldn't replicate problem

So $144

Still leaking

Booked second visit

Unit was dismantled could see the unit was leaking water but could not diagnose from where.

So this call was $66 dollars - 30 minutes

The technician then noticed over problems and Parts and labor to repair the machine came to just over $730 dollars.

Here is the kicker but its still may leak was the comment.

Left me say I am now manual washing dishes and looking for a new dishwasher.

Not happy with my Bosch Dishdirtier – Purchased this a couple of weeks ago, its completely useless and it will be going back under its guarantee. Features of my particular Bosch Active Water plus model include: From day one the machine has not been able to clean a basic load of dishes Being so water efficient it doesn't even manage at times to dissolve the recommended… Read more

dishwasher tablets

The dishes are dirtier coming out then when they went in - for example, instead of having one bowl that had baked bean residue on the edges - after a wash EVERYTHING comes out with with baked bean food particles on it, the drying cycle then dries all the food particles solid to the items resulting in ALL items requiring to be hand washed with a scour pad after.

No matter what cycle is used, the dishwasher does an amazing job of not managing to wash anything.

The dry cycle leaves water pooling on the tops of cups and plastics with droplets all over them

A plus is that it is quiet........but this could be due to the fact it's not working so hard to wash the dishes.

Have checked all manner of things recommended by the Bosch Service Centre ( water pressure, installation, spinners, different cycles etc.) i've come to the conclusion that the machine is a complete lemon and not worth the effort of a service call out, I am so disappointed and unhappy with it I just want it banished from the kitchen.

At the end of the day this is a new machine and these issues should just not happen, My prior dishwasher before it gave up the ghost was a Bosh and worked fine so really this new machine has no excuses or exceptions.

This machine although it has reduced my trust in the Bosch brand and made it more likely that i would consider other brands over Bosch in future would not stop me considering purchasing a different Bosch item but I would definitely do more research and stay well clear of this model. excellent - everything you'd want – I chose this based on Choice recommendation (quietest and most water efficient). I am extremely happy with it. You need to run it on a hotter cycle than they recommend to get a good clean (I use the intensive cycle and use the vario speed button if I want a faster cycle). It is very quiet - sometimes you don't realise it is on. The top level adjusts so it fits larger plates and wine glasses nicely. It looks good too. Quiet, good wash

its good but it doesnt dry plastics – this is a great machine in terms of quitness, wash quality and ease of use but it doesnt dry plastics. it has great festures for its price but i will be returning it as under Bosch's 30 day money back guarantee and buying a Miele. it cost $1200 but at least i know it dryes my lunch box. quit, easy to use, washes well. all of our plastics come out soaking wet and the odd bit of cutlery had stains on it.  Show reply

Need a quite dishwasher? – So far so good, super quite. Couldn't here it run, only the noise of the water rushing down the drain gave it away. The "preferred tablets" Finish Quantum powerball didn't devolve in quick wash 45 degrees cycle, will need to go to another product. Quite, fast Poor install guide, need to buy lid if not using as built in solution
