Pros: Good quality and doesn't damage clothes
Cons: Expensive
Overall: Solidly made in Germany, easy to use and compact enough to fit in my European laundry!

I've only had it for a couple of months but do far from what I can tell it is extremely quiet and spins the clothes so dry at 1600rpm.
Even though it spins the clothes at such a fast speed it does not damage your clothes. Expensive lingerie can be safely put in this washer!
Love it

Pros: Great quick cycles and longer more efficient cycles
Cons: Bad warranty service
Overall: I love my washing machine. The only problem I've found in operation is that it doesn't like to spin some things such as my blanket, and waterproof bed protectors. It just will not spin these items and I'm left with them sopping wet. Apart from that, it does almost everything right... except that the door latch broke after only 18 months and there was absolutely no way of opening the door, even with the manual door release. Washing machine repair man wasn't able to open it either without damaging the mechanism. I am now still waiting for parts after 2 1/2 weeks. I am getting the run around from both Bosch and the repairers. Apparently only one repairman available in the greater Brisbane area. Not sure if the repairman actually has even seen this machine before.

Pros: Reliable, water efficient, does a great job of washing clothes while still being gentle on them.
Overall: I spent a long time researching before I purchased and I admit I hesitate at the price, even though I got a good deal online, however I am very happy with the Bosch. My house is small and I can't hear the machine running even on a spin cycle with the laundry door open. There is no movement either, I have a metal table placed over the machine and dryer and not once have I heard it banging, my old machine was terrible for that. There are more than enough cycles to choose from, even a quick cycle that will have your wash done in under an hour and I've noticed our water bill has dropped quite a bit.

One other reviewer noted the 'wash finish' alarm was annoying and it can be as it goes off every two minutes, but that is only a couple of times and then it stops. If I'm really busy I either ignore it or just open the door until I can hang out the clothes.

I love my Bosch, will most definitely buy this brand again when a replacement is needed and have happily recommended it to a number of family and friends.

Pros: Quiet, effective, excellent energy & water efficiency and flexible programs.
Cons: A little water gets stuck on the door seal....so no big deal
Overall: I researched buying a washing machine to death and it has paid off. This machine is great on power, water and leaves a great result. We needed a machine that would clean well and rinse very well and the Bosch does both. The preset cycles times vary from a quick 15 minute blast for the gym clothes to over 2 hours and spin speeds are fully adjustable right up to 1600rpm and is exceptionally quite at doing it too.
We have had this unit in service for 4 months and are very happy with everything so far – our use is medium to heavy with daily towels and bathers etc.
The first one I received had a dead display but ApOnline replaced it without question.

Pros: Good hardware. Good looks.
Cons: Poor software design has ruined the overall experience. Prone to spin failures. Annoying alarm.
Overall: After 12 months of use, my overall impression of the Bosch WAS32742 is somewhat disappointing. While I am very happy with the build quality, style and finish of the hardware — poor software design has ruined the overall experience.

Default wash options are geared to produce favourable power and water consumption at the expense of wash quality. The system menu isn't complicated, but changing the wash cycle from the default economy modes to normal conditions is a long winded process. The machine does not remember your default preferences but does however provide two programmable cycles. I have observed several software bugs using programmable cycles, these include; incorrect wash time calculations and setting all load weights to zero regardless of actual load size. The appearance and types of bugs will vary depending on your programme.

The WAS32742 requires that you complete the loading process AFTER you select the wash cycle, therefore you cannot gradually keep adding clothes to the machine until you are ready to do a wash. If you select a wash cycle with clothes already in the machine, the load weight will be calculated incorrectly.

The WAS32472 seems particularly prone to unbalanced loads during the spin cycle, resulting in a drenched load at the end of the wash. This seems more likely to occur with lighter loads than heavier ones. Manually selecting a "spin only" cycle will usually fix the problem if it arises, however this is far from ideal, especially for a machine in this price range.

An optional alarm will sound when the wash cycle is completed. Alarm volume is adjustable, beyond this however there are only two options for how the alarm operates; no alarm, or continuously sounding every two minutes (roughly) until you stop it. I want an end of wash alarm, but I don't want to be harassed by my appliances when I'm busy. This is an extremely irritating feature.

I will no doubt continue using this machine well into its life cycle, however I am not happy with many of the design choices Bosch has made. If you can look passed the issues raised in this review (or don't see them as being issues) then you will probably be quite happy with this machine.
