Poor experience with Bosch – I have had this machine for a few years and it has been a pain the whole time. It rusts. The door is an issue and it regularly has faults from flooding. I have the F23 fault which renders the machine useless. I would expect something that cost over $1500 to last ten years or more. Very disappointed in this machine and Bosch. Show details
Still going – We have had our ups and downs with this machine but it is still going, after 2 house moves, one 2000km. Replaced the door latch last year, over zealous person trying to get their washing out after loading it with pet fur blanket and blocking the pump filter. Aside from that, semi regular errors seem to stem mostly from the pressure sensor… Read more · 1
detaching from its anchor point and the occasional pocket pal (tissue/peg/coin) in the pump 'filter'. As already mentioned, it struggles with pet fur, has "fluff" tantrums at times, as do I though so fair go. Semi-regular maintenance would probably reduce errors i.e. take water inlet hose off and brush out occasional debris at least annually. I vaguely remember the super fast 1600rpm being a tipping point for choosing this one but can't justify as 1400 (even 1200) is sufficient and clothes often end up uneven in the spin so anything faster makes a hell of a racket, probably what shakes the pressure sensor loose. It has plenty of other great worthwhile cycle options though and does a good job the majority of the time.
Rectified: it was my fault. Bosch machine one year later. Is a dream.. *Door won’t open. HELP! it’s a week old – Edit: this was completely my error. I was activating the child lock. A year plus later, this machine is a winner. Highly recommend. * The machine is beautiful with a great price form appliances online. What’s been distressing is the door remains locked for several hours post wash/ dry. It’s a washer dryer in one. I have to fiddle with the dial.… Read more
For half an hour today. Then randomly opens. The machine is ten days old, and this is really stressful. I’ve not done anything inappropriate to the machine.

Not a single problem with this machine since 2010 – We have had this machine since 2010 and not a single problem. We are about to purchase a new model Bosch machine and dryer so was looking on here for some specifications of our old one and was so surprised to see such negative reviews. We couldn't complain about anything! Show details · 1
Thank you for the great tip regarding how to get away the child lock – Thank you, this saved me from a big bill from a service guy coming over!! :-) I thought I had an electrical error and searched the internet until I read earlier answers below. I tried out the tip of holding in the start button 5 seconds, - and there my machine was back to normal!!! I had never heard about child lock and I dont understand how I or… Read more
my child have activated it, but it does not matter now - because now I know how to fix it next time!!! ;-)
Impressed with service – This machine has some fantastic features like the stain removal. However it rusted up on the front panel approx 2.5 years, then the door would not open. Replaced by Bosch with another model, thought their customer service was excellent, but I miss the stain removal option (with no added detergents) it was brilliant. Show reply

Door seal collects mould – seal on this model collects lot of mould despite leaving door open when not in use. Reiplaced the seal and got the same problem. never buy Bosch washing machine again.
Was good for a while.. but for 2k don’t spend your money on Bosch – Had this machine since 2011 and don’t use it very often. Suddenly today the door won’t open.. no error code. Door just won’t open. No error code - after reading below reviews I am certainly not prepared to pay $1000 to fix this or $500 for a seal. In the process of renovating and was considering Bosch products but will be looking at other options now. Not sure what to do from here! Show details
Don't waste your money – Purchased the washing machine in Oct 2011 and paid $1800. In about 6 years time the handle to the door broke and the replacement cost is expensive and just yesterday while the machine was running it started beeping and displayed an "Error F57". Searched the manual to see how to fix the error no result. Called up their 24/7 customer service and… Read more
they had not heard of the error too. Google was our best chance to get some answers. Google said the machine need circuit replacement. I have paid approx. $1800 for this machine and it doesn't even last 10years. Why does Bosch make such cheap quality products? As a big organisation they should think about their carbon footprint and the environmental effect their products have if we have to dispose off these machines so quickly. The repair is going to cost me more than $700 and a new machine is going to cost me the same so guess what my choice would be??? I would prefer to repair this machine and use it but not at the cost I am looking at.

Only lasted 6 years – Bought from Good Guys Preston as they recommended this German model against Bosch's Asian built one. After spending $2K plus 3 years extended warranty, I thought it would last as long as my old Kleenmaid did - 20 years. Alas, i was sadly mistaken, it only lasted 6 and a bit years. It would have cost me around $700 to fix error F57 so bought a… Read more
Choice recommended Fisher and Paykel front loader with 4 years extended warranty and will see how long this one lasts for. Won't buy Bosch ever again.
Overpriced for what your getting – In regards to washing the clothes I'll give it 5 stars. In regards to value for money I'll give it 2 stars. I purchased my Bosch washing machine about 6 years ago and paid $2,000.00. I was a bit hesitant spending this amount of money. But the sales person pointed out what you pay is what you get and being German made it will outlast my previous… Read more
LG washing machine(purchased the LG for $800.00 and lasted 10 years). Well after 6 years (only doing about 4 to 5 loads a week) the Bosch washing machine stopped working during washing. Called the service guy out and need to spend about $1,000.00 to fix it. Decided not to fix it and put the money towards a new one. Extremely disappointed with this Bosch product only lasting 6 years after spending $2,000.00. Obviously German made isn't what it use to be. I'm definitely not buying another Bosch product especially when you need to pay top dollar and it doesn't last. I thought when I purchased my Bosch washing machine I'll was getting a product that will last 10 years plus. Only a 2 year warranty on this Bosch product. Well that only tells you how confident they really are.
So many issues – Loved this machine in the beginning but now wondering why I got rid of my top loader. Constantly being left without being able to open the door - sometimes with clothes inside or now not being able to shut the door even though it is actually closed. Door latch has broken several times as it is plastic and cannot withstand daily use. Expensive machine that has broken down many times. Show details

Bosch Logixx 8 WAS32742AU/08 - suggest stay away from this model!! – Have had minor issues (door handle replacement and intermittent faulting) over the past 5 years. 2 months before my machine's 6th anniversary I got the F:57 error on completing a load of washing (needless to say, washing was on the inside and I couldn't get it out!) after hours of scouring the net and unable to determine cause of the problem we… Read more
managed to use the emergency door release (red tab) and in doing so completely wrenching the red tab off/out. All looked good until I set to do another washing load and was immediately presented with the F:57, this time having no way to open the door. One week later I managed to get a technician who advised this was a 'fatal error'. Either the motor or control module was to blame, nothing to do but try and replace both. At the quoted price of $900+ I think I may be shopping for a new washing machine - thinking not a Bosch! Very poor quality for a $1,900 machine, certainly expected more than a 5 year life span, obviously German technology no longer the standard one would expect...and I have a load of washing in the machine that I can't rescue - technician suggested I break the door to get to it as there is no way to get it out otherwise!!

Poor design, dont purchase. Premium price - dud product – Like most people here I have the following 3 main issues: After about 5 years we got the dreaded F57 error that everyone seems to be getting around this time. we try and clean it with. Extremely difficult to remove and the price for a new one is a quarter of the price of the entire machine.
For a premium price this is certainly not a premium product. The lifetime of a machine like this should be at least 10 years.
My other complaint about this is we find we always have to press the 'add extra water' option. If you keep it on the eco setting to save water with a full load, some parts of clothes come out dry....
On the plus side, if you do add the extra water, it does clean the clothes well and it is quiet.
I really dont think Bosch quality is what it used to be, I would need some serious convincing to make me replace this with another Bosch.
Door gasket seal fail – I bought my Bosch in 2012 & now the gasket has failed. Previously, I had a cheap $500 NEC that lasted me 8 years with a hiccup. I would not recommend Bosch as I think you can purchase another cheaper brand for less that would be more reliable. $118 for… Read more

Extremely Disappointed with BOSCH WAS32742AU – I bought this machine just over four years ago. It came highly recommended by the sales person - German made, reliable, will last for years. have to pay for a service person to out, which would take one week. I called another company, which was recommended by Bosch, and they sent someone out the following day. I was informed the motherboard has died and this was a common problem for these machines. The call out fee was $155.70 and it will cost an additional $405 to get the motherboard replaced. I am extremely disappointed that Bosch believe it is acceptable that a machine I purchased for $1900 should only last four years and cost a further $560.70 to get fixed. I have gone ahead with the repair and my next call is to consumer affairs.

A real dud – We have had this machine for 3 years and have 3 waiting to have the 4th the last one was only 2 weeks ago to replace the door seal.. Don't buy this – Bought our Bosch washing machine in 2011. It had a 'catastrophic' failure just out of warranty. disappointing part is that when Bosch was contacted they simply said that it was out of warranty. If this is the case then Bosch believe under their statutory warranty that their washers should only last four years. Buyers beware.

Dear Bosch can you pl. try to help people like me to fix this problem and tell us more clearly how much I have to pay before booking services without knowing how much really I have to pay. This is unacceptable.
Thank you. Good for about a couple of years and then what I do not know, through it away or repair and keep it... expensive, not sure what to do etc

German built version of this model - F23 fault. Less than 3 years old – I am very cross that my machine has died. I opted for the German built one, which cost me $3400, rather than the German parts, Malaysia assembled one, which was around $1800. Love the machine, but the quality is woeful – We bought this machine 9 months ago. I fell in love with it immediately. It's quiet (apart from the repetitive beep when it's done which can get even my husband to hang out the washing), economical, it washes the clothes very well and the design is terrific. Had I reviewed it at that point I would have given it 4 or even 5 stars. I even… Read more
noticed that our water consumption dropped on the bill.
After 9 months however, it stopped working, mid-cycle, complete with a weird electrical burning smell. I called Bosch, thinking $1655 machine, top of the range model, reputable company - should be fixed quickly, right? What has followed has been a catalogue of disasters, from the initial "sorry our computers are down but we'll out a call through for you on Monday" to taking 4 working days to courier a part from Melbourne to Sydney. It's now been two weeks since the machine broke and I am still waiting for the machine to be repaired. When you have two children, this not a good situation!
So in short, based on their reliability (or lack of) and very slow customer service (even an email to Bosch gets an automated reply saying "we'll reply within a few days" - what does that tell you?!), I wouldn't buy Bosch again. Washing performance, quiet operation, water efficient. Broke within 9 months, service is slow and communication extremely poor

online.. After being told by Bosch, to call Appliances online (who I bought the machine off) who tell me to call the third party insurance company, who then tell me that rubber seals are not covered under their policy as per the T&C’s, and then I am referred to yet another company who will arrange an inspection and I will have to pay there and then if the problem is not deemed covered.
Given I paid $2,000 for what I understood to be a value German product, and use the machine only once per week, and also ensure that I keep the doors open, dry and ventilated – I am appalled. I expected better service, a better product, and for some flexibility as it is obvious there is a design flaw / cheap rubber seals are used by Bosch.
I should have gone for the LG at half the price.
Do not waste your money.
UPDATED REVIEW
Given I was out of the official BOSCH 2 year warranty, and the 3rd party extended "warranty" was simply not to be trusted as the "fine print" shows very little is covered under it !! I am GLAD to report, that after contacting Bosch directly - they have won me over for life, after thinking out side of the square, and sending a repair man out to fix the issues at no charge. Now that is what I call customer service, and I will now remain loyal to Bosch for life no doubt. I didn’t have to jump through hoops, just state the basic facts. Thank you Bosch. Excellent service! Solid, fairly quiet, hot wash is hot A shame the digital interface does not show what you select with the dial, and you cannot just "Spin dry" at 1600.
Love this machine – I've only had this machine for 2 days and I've done 5 different loads of washing and I'm very happy with the results. I did the towels on 1600 rpm and they nearly come out dry! I did normal clothes like tshirts on 800 rpm and while they were still quite damp they were not creased. Having gone from a 13 year old whirlpool top loader which was… Read more
starting to get tired, I'm very happy a made the switch to front loader. It's very quiet, has so many features and looks great in my laundry along side the Bosch 7kg condenser dryer (which is also fantastic and drys so well). After a lot if research online and in store I decided it was best to spend the extra and get the German made model. And also, 8kg is plenty....we are a family of 5 and was considering a 10kg in a different brand, but I'm glad I went 8kg. Quiet, washes well and can fit a lot in it.
An update to my earlier review – This is the second review I have written of this machine. I am writing a second review after a second fault. Unfortunately, this fault has proven fatal. an extended warranty at the time so I called the company & the first repairer they arranged was wise enough to throw back the hot potato before they got their hands burnt. The machine was eventually inspected by a second company & they were unable to diagnose the fault but told me they were recommending to the insurance company that the unit be replaced. Today I learned that the machine would be replaced not with the identical model, nor even similar, but one with a value not greater than the depreciated value of my machine - ie, less than half the purchase price.
Very unhappy.
Previous review:
13 months after buying this machine it stopped working, showing the error
"Update Error

on its display.
3 weeks, many phone calls & 2 visits by the Bosch authorised repairman later, it's still not working. Bosch sent a replacement part that did nothing at all (the original part was still working properly).
It seems they don't know how to fix this machine. Luckily it's still covered by the 2 year manufacturer's warranty, because Bosch's service team's inability to diagnose the actual problem would become very expensive if I were paying to replace parts that were undamaged. It was a good machine when it worked Bosch's technicians are unable to diagnose or repair this machine.

dryer and not once have I heard it banging, my old machine was terrible for that. There are more than enough cycles to choose from, even a quick cycle that will have your wash done in under an hour and I've noticed our water bill has dropped quite a bit.
One other reviewer noted the 'wash finish' alarm was annoying and it can be as it goes off every two minutes, but that is only a couple of times and then it stops. If I'm really busy I either ignore it or just open the door until I can hang out the clothes.
I love my Bosch, will most definitely buy this brand again when a replacement is needed and have happily recommended it to a number of family and friends. Reliable, water efficient, does a great job of washing clothes while still being gentle on them.
Great washer – The Bosch Logixx8 VarioPerfect front loading washing machine is well built and solid. Very versatile and steady even at high speeds.
