The very best! – How I wish my Braun Xpressive was available when I was young. With a hormone imbalance that resulted in embarrassing excess hair, the days of my youth were not very happy. All hair removal, except shaving, involves some pain so those who say this is terrible must have no pain tolerance. To me this is no worse than waxing and as you use i… Read more

more often, no pain at all. It eliminates the rash of shaving and the dreadful burns that waxing and laser can cause. The skin is left clean and smooth. It is wonderful on legs, bikini lines, arms and underarms. One area for me, however, which was too sensitive was the face as I have very soft, fine skin. I imagine this would not be the case for many others. It is worth trying, at least. For the face I opted for tweezers for many years and now IPL once a month or so.

I selected version 7681 as this has the same features as mine. I have had mine for some years now and its battery is still as strong as ever (Braun goods are brilliant in this regard). It charges quickly. It cannot be used with the charger connected so that is an important feature. It is also a great safety feature since it is a wet and dry epilator.

I love that it is a one off cost. Saves heaps of money on waxing and you can achieve the same result. I have also found that the Braun thins the hair over the years and it grows more slowly. My grand-daughters recently tried mine and are now hooked.

This product has been a lifesaver for me and I would recommend it as the very best of its kind.

Terrible – Braun Silk-épil Xpressive, the best epilator ever from the #1... REALLY !!!!!!???????? Expensive !!!!! This item does not worth the money. It turns off by itself after 5 minutes even with adapter plugged in!! It does not charge properly , I would not recommend to anyone one. I'm very disappointed!! This item does not worth the money It turns off by itself after 5 minutes even with adapter plugged in

The Braun does not even work with adapter plugged in. That is one of its safety features.

Annoying!! – This product's power cord constantly falls out of the product when you are using it. Makes the process much longer than it has to be let alone annoying! Mine is going back today and I will be trying the power cord before I leave the shop to ensure this doesn't happen again. It did good hair removal and left skin silky. Power cord going into product keeps falling out constantly.

Fast Not Too Painful At All – I was stunned! Wish I'd bought one of these many years ago! The lady in the shop said she had one and yes it was painful but you get used to it. well I don't agree. I guess everyone's perception of pain is different. It was more like intense tiny tiny electic shocks. Not pain, but yes a little uncomfortable. I don't think as paiful as… Read more

waxing as the are being treated is so much smaller.

If you can handle waxing then you'll find this no problem at all. Fast. Easy to clean. Can use in the shower (model 7681). Has a great little light to show up the fine hairs. Bit noisy.

Not as painful as I feared – I'd been thinking about buying an epilator for a long time but always held off because I found waxing my own legs too painful so didn't think I stood a chance of epilating. For my first try I had all the pain minimising accessories in place but after the first leg removed them all as it wasn't anywhere near as painful as I thought. The great… Read more

thing about an epilator is that you never have that period of wanting to hide your legs when you're close to needing a wax. It is more time intensive than waxing - I use my epilator approximately every 5 days for about 20 minutes to maintain hair free legs. It also doesn't give you that super smooth feeling that you get immediately after waxing because the hairs are on different growth cycles and although the epilator does remove very short ones there are always some just poking through that it won't get. My two issues with the product are: it's very noisy - you are not able to watch television/listen to radio whilst using the epilator and it appears to "break" finer hairs rather than ripping them out at the root. Not painful, easy to keep legs hair free Noisy, breaks finer hairs rather than pulling them out

About as painful as waxing but without the mess! – I had been umming and ahhing about whether to buy an epilator because I had heard so many horror stories about how much it would hurt!! (I'm a first timer). But I bit the bullet and went to buy this up-to-date Braun model because the wet/dry functionality was supposed to be more tolerable. Well first point of note: in my experience this… Read more ·  2

epilator is no more painful than waxing!! (I have been having regular waxes since I was a teenager). I tried it wet in the shower because this is supposed to be more soothing on the skin. It was definitely less painful than I expected and you get used to the way it feels after a couple of seconds. Even areas like the knees and ankles were fine. I found one of the best things for pain tolerance (as well as keeping your skin wet) was making sure you kept your skin nice and taught as instructed. Honestly the scariest thing about this epilator is the noise and working up the guts to put this electronic thing underwater and on your skin!

The only negative part of the experience was that it didn't manage to get all my hairs - but this was probably my fault as I went over some areas too quickly, and didn't go up in smooth lines because I was a bit nervous. This obviously meant that I forgot which bits I had done.

Second point of note: because this appliance is waterproof it is really easy to clean - it took about 3 seconds and that is a definite bonus for me because I'm a bit slack.

A definite thumbs up for the Braun epilator! Results are as smooth as shaving but with the long-term benefits of waxing. This thing will be paying for itself in no time now that I'll never have to have another salon wax.

One star off for the price though - $200AUS is a bit pricey. Although there was a 60 day money back guarantee from Braun. Less painful than expected, easy to clean, smooth results, 2 yr warranty, 60 day money back guarantee Expensive

Excellent – This is my third braun silk-epil. I still have my 2nd one which is approx 7 years old, but I just had to have the new cordless one. The one I purchased is the expressive wet and dry which can be used in the bath or shower. Each new silk-epil Braun bring out is more improved and less painful than the previous and this one didn't disappoint. This… Read more

one to me is painfree. It feels like the rollers are massaging your legs and not pulling out your hairs. The smartlight makes the hairs easy to see. I like the additional attachment for underarms and bikini line and the fact you can use in the bath which makes it even less painful as your pores are open. I just like everything about this new improved design. Cordless, waterproof to use in bath or shower and reasonably painless. Has a smaller contoured attachment for underarms and bikini line and smart light so you won't miss any hairs.

Terrible – When I first got this I thought it was wonderful because it hurt far less than my usual epilator (also a Braun). Unfortunately it didn't hurt because it wasn't grabbing the hairs. The pivotal head seemed to be positioned too high to allow the hairs to go into the tweezer system. I kept it for a few weeks, trying and trying to love it. It was… Read more

taking me hours to epliate though as I had to either run over and over the same spots trying to get the hairs to come out or take the head off entirely which wasn't good.

I was really sad I didn't love this as it was my 3rd Bruan epilator and I have adored the other 2. I was just glad they offered a refund because it was pricey. It was pretty.

It was rechargable.

It didn't hurt (likely because it didn't work).

They offered a 60 day money back guarantee at the time. It didn't grip the hair at all.

The head seemed to prevent the hair from going into the tweezers because it was too high.

Expensive.
