These are Not Good – We Purchased The Breville LSP200BSS 6xAAA battery type. The washers that fit inside and around the square metal turning rod kept falling off. After the second time of having all the salt pour out onto and all over my dinner, that's it. Fit for the rubbish bin.

Should be removed from sale – These salt and pepper mills are poorly designed and terribly fiddly to operate. The electric motors are not powerful enough for the task, despite the large number of batteries required. The mechanisms are overly sensitive to adjustment and seem to stop working on a whim.

wouldn't work out of the box! – I received this set as a present. They appear stylish. At first I was surprised they required 4xAA each, so an outlay of 8xAA batteries! Of course they weren't included in the box. The pepper shaker worked fine, but couldn't get the salt shaker to do anything except give a little sign of life when installing the cap. We reloaded the batteries, switched them for others, checked they were in correctly and every now and then we'd get a sign of life. After 30 minutes of fiddling we finally got it to work, only for it to stop again 6 weeks later. Fiddling further this morning left me late for work and still without any luck. What ever you do, don't give these as a present to a friend...though it might make a "nice" present to someone you don't like! Absolute JUNK!

Further to this...to Breville's credit, while they weren't able to exchange the items as they were no longer in production, I was able to choose another product to the same value to which they delivered promptly.

Shocking product – Lasted a very short time before the plastic salt grinder snapped in two. Pepper one has just gone now. 4mths out of Salt and 6mths out of pepper. Can't take back as it was a gift. Don't waste your money. My $10 Manuel pepper shaker lasted 10yrs! Will go and buy cheep one again. Fair better. Saves you grinding for 4 mths. Expensive heap of junk.

Never Again – Well I thought I would try these out as I was tired of manually grinder salt/pepper, but I will not bother to waste my money on something like this again. Unfortunately after I loaded one of the mills up with pepper the mechanism in it broke so it was spitting out full peppercorns, then when I tried to see what was I noticed that the teeth near the part that was supposed to grind were broken.. I took it back to the shop I purchased it from and thought I would swap it over, only to open the box and find another set the same way(thankfully before I left the shop this time). I got my money back when I returned it. Faulty

Mine set given as a gift in September have died. The salt one died in January. The plastic grinder snapped clean in two. The pepper one died last week with much the same problem. Can't take them back, but know the person who gave them purchased these for about $55. What a complete waste of money. Very disappointed Breville! Shocking product.
