Pros: Energy efficient, versatile, big enough for family meals
Overall: The Breville Smart oven is just fantastic, a little oven which is big on performance. I have used it for about 6 months now and have nothing bad to say about it. It toasts completely to your liking, grills, and the oven is big enough for family meals. I have only used my main oven for family roasts. It heats up really quickly therefore saving money and doesn't heat up the kitchen which is a big bonus in an Australian summer. Easily cleaned with a removable bottom tray and a quick wipe over inside. I bought this when my microwave broke and apart from defrosting this oven does everything a micro does only better and with health conscious appeal

Pros: Looks good, easy to use, does the job.
Cons: Easy to get dirty, the door insulation is not that good
Overall: I have to say that the oven looks really good at first. It functions quite good, the LCD is also helpful, the price is quite high compared to other alternatives. However the product gets dirty very easily, outside and inside and the insulation of the front door is not that good (no double glazing and it gets hot near it).

Pros: Very fast heat up
Cons: Bit Small
Overall: Love this little oven and looks great on the bench top. So easy to use with clear LED control panel. Very fast heat up, with great cooking results. Love the fact it's so much faster than my "big" oven. My kids love the toast out of it cause it stay warm much longer than out of a normal toaster.

Pros: It's an excellent, very versatile oven with very solid supporting documentation to help use it properly.
Cons: Recommended cooking times can be a little light.
Overall: Since it is a main oven for me I have used all the cooking modes and it certainly does a great job of pretty much everything I have cooked so far. Pizza's are amazing, roasts are very moist and evenly cooked and it does a nice job with baking, toasting, reheating and keeping things warm.

I have a few comments though that might be helpful to those cooking with this oven.

The preset temperatures in the documentation tend to be set around 5 degrees less than what you might typically cook at in that particular mode (eg Roasting is preset to 175 degrees celsius/convection on - which typically would be 180 degrees celsius convection off) The reason I think is Breville feels that if you are using the oven in convection mode, it cooks a little faster - so they have compensated by defaulting the temperature to about 5 degrees less in many of the modes.

My experience suggests this is a very 'gentle' cooking oven so I recommend this - cook to exactly what your recipe temperature says and don't worry about compensating for the convection cookings supposed faster cooking speed. eg: in roasting mode Breville has recommended cooking times for various meats based on the ovens Roast mode default of 175 degrees/convection on - which I always find are slightly underdone for the times they suggest - so I up it 5 degrees to get a more acceptable result for the times they recommend.

Also, for recipes that have a short baking time (eg muffins that are say 10 to 15 mins typically) I always find I have to increase the cooking time a little to compensate for the fact that the oven loses more heat than a conventional oven as soon as you open the door due to its smaller size. So expect to bake a little longer for very short timed recipes.

If using the pizza stone that is an accessory specifically available for the oven, I have never had any success with that if I hand make the pizza dough from my bread maker - it always sticks to the stone no matter what I try. So only use the stone if you use fairly firm store bought bases (or put baking paper under the dough before you put it on the stone) . The standard pizza tray has always given me the best result though. And pizzas from this oven are excellent I might add. So is everything else bearing in mind the above comments.

Enjoy it! It is certainly well worth the spend.

Overall: We keep ours on our patio and it supplements the BBQ brilliantly - keeps stuff warm while other things are cooking. I love the controls - so easy to adjust and the fact that you can change the settings in mid-cook. Best little appliance we've ever bought for the money.

Pros: Energy efficient and heats up more quickly than an ordinary oven.
Overall: I purchased this oven for my caravan and its brillant. When I am not caravaning I use it in my kitchen at home. It heats quickly, saves electricity and cooks to perfection. I hardly ever use my two built in ovens. The only addition I would like to see is an interior light. Overall it is a great product and if anyone is thinking of purchasing a portable oven you can't go past this one. Excellent product.
