The Bearing failed after 5 years, smoke came out. Rusted bearing is the main cause – i am single and use it only blend juice every morning. Never a heavy user..wash perfectly and dry it untill next morning. Prior to its breakdown i notice the blender is loud and sound tired to work on juice (350ml). emailed to check with breville, they said the bearing might be jammed due to rust. I tot it suppose to be fully stainless steel?!… Read more
and they also said the aging of the sealant (silicone) might be thinned / aging so i asked again how could that happened and where would the dust of silicone goes to? and they remained silent till now. I guess all the silicone dust could go into the drink each morning! That's a silent killer and probably how a healthy habit could cause cancer! the machine is not cheap and i was advise to change the whole blender jar at my cost (which is very tricky, as i see this is not a user's issue but permanent material or design defect!) yet this permanent manufacturer defects never been called back. Very irresponsible brand and this is my second breville blender, previous one (glass jar) got leaked and been replaced twice! NEVER again for me!
Jug bearings failures++ – Two years of use no more than 2x/month for green smoothies and chopping nuts and seeds. Then the jug bearing failed. I have had other Breville appliances fail after unreasonable service life. No more Breville for me. Show details
Doesn’t work! – I bought long time ago and returned ones and again same problem When I put something in doesn’t work When is empty does I have not use this blender ones and was not cheap Show details

Worst product Ive ever owned – Unfortunately I was sucked into buying a 2nd one and was so careful to rinse it with water every time after using it, having had the seal under the blade disintegrate on the first one. Well exactly the same thing just happened again. Unbelievable. Clearly a design fault. The product is a lemon. I cant believe Breville continued to sell it when… Read more
they must have known years ago looking at these reviews. Shame on you Breville - I'm not sure Ill ever purchase your products again.....which saddens me because I really love my Breville smart toaster. Though reading up on that it appears maybe I just got lucky as there are also issues there too. Ive had mine for 5 odd years and I have to say I think its the best toaster Ive ever owned. My Ikon kettle also failed after 2 years with the lid no longer opening though otherwise it still works. Seems Breville products are unreliable and customer service experience wasn't great last time so not expecting much this time either.
BLENDER - ICE CRUSHING - solid, powerful, good size - just what I needed – This blender has a commercial look and feel about it. I was nervous I would be fooled into buying a commercial look product that was a sheep in wolves clothing. Several years on - this unit gets a daily hammering for ice-crushing, and smoothies. EFFECTIVE It works well blending soups, and the solid, large canister feels sturdy and safe to handle… Read more
hot liquids. There is an ice-crushing function which is highly effective, and a smoothy function, which toggles between a slow ice-clog action and a faster blending action.
CLEANING Cleaning is normally straight forward, but reaching in to clean around the blade by hand requires caution. A well shaped brush is recommended. The canister handles the dishwasher well, and even the the blade does not remove from the canister, the dishwasher leaves no residue. A small hole in the shroud at the base of the jug allows the dishwater water to drain away at the end of a dishwasher cycle when inverted.
RECOMMENDATION A good, hearty, commercial feeling unit, that handles ice-crushing well.
Beautiful cranberry red colour. Works magic. Brilliant result. Love it! – I was given this blender as a gift (in brand new condition, in original box, never used). It is so hard to find it in cranberry colour that matches the colour theme in our kitchen. I used it for making smoothie, milk shake and pumpkin soup etc. It works great, gives brilliant results for sure. The 15 and 20 small ice cubes can be crushed in just… Read more
60 seconds! Same thing with making puree as well. Very powerful motor.
Having said that, now here are the negative things about this blender: the results for crushing biscuits or spinach leaves are not really good at all. I had to pause it all the time and had to use a small spatula to help push it down to the bottom, so the metal blades can get in touch with the mixtures. Luckily I don't really use it to do those things a lot. So it doesn't bother me too much.
Overall, this is a great blender for making drinks or soups for sure. I love this cranberry colour in particular, truly very pretty. Not sure why Breville no longer makes this blender in this colour. My sister wants a cranberry red one, but she cannot find it in stores any more.

Bearing failed after light use – This blender was great until the main bearing in the jug failed after about 2 years of very light use. Not acceptable quality for such an expensive item. The jug is also not dishwasher which is inconvenient. Show details
Expensive poorly engineered blender – Same problems as everyone else: bearing in the jug is not up to the task, wears out very fast, overheats, starts melting the seal and then seizes completely; control panel cuts the machine dead after 1 - 2 seconds on anything other than the pulse button. I'm a product designer so tend to pull products apart to see where they're faulty. In my view… Read more
the jug bearing is wrong spec for the job and the seal is made from a too-soft compound. No expertise on electronics, but seems clear this is a design fault. Pity, the product is made from good materials, very well put together, but I won't be buying any more Breville products after this experience.
It does the job well but the jar gets white with use – We use it mainly for smoothies and soups. It blends really well and make nice smoothies. It's not loud. The motor is sturdy and does the job without complaining. There are few levels and you can choose depending on the function. But my biggest complaint is the plastic jar - it turns white within a couple of months of usage. It was transparent when… Read more
new - not sure what the problem is. We have been following the instructions for washing. Plus there is no lock in mechanism for the jar, it just sits on top of the motor - I get a bit worried with kids.
Another S**T product from Breville – Breville BBL605 blender is noisy but does an OK job on a smoothie. Only use the blender occasionally yet the jug bearing has worn out. And this is despite being very careful to always follow the instruction manual operating times. Seems like the jug is a throw away item - cheap Chinese bearing. And they want more $ to buy a replacement jug. … Read more
Brelle only built to last 1-2 years. That is, just till the warranty runs out. Not a quality product. Dont buy this brand.
Made in China – Another one of those lovely looking but poorly designed products. The aim is to swap your money for a product that you are happy with and will last for a very long time but sadly of course those days have gone. Our first blender stopped working ( electrical fault ). My lovely trusting wife bought another one just over 2 years ago and yes it… Read more
stopped working. I took it apart and found the problem. Bad designed seals and low quality Chinese ball bearing. Moisture and bearings don’t like each other and even if it was a high quality ball bearing the same would have happened but just a bit later . Forget about a refund as it is designed to fail not long after the warranty runs out. Happy shopping !
Rubbish Breville Blender/s – Had this for just over 3 years 5 months. Vary sparing use for mixtures such as milk shakes, breadcrumbs, dips and similar. It just stopped with smoke pouring from the motor, doing breadcrumbs. This is the 2nd similar Breville blender that has broken down; the first one had similar use and was also out of warranty. Breville, your blender is rubbish, in my opinion. Your 12 months warranty is lousy and should have tipped me off. Show details

Best ever processor – This machine is a dream come try. Wanted something that would crush ice and make smoothies. With the Smoothie button, it preforms with excellence. Lifting the ingrediants up and over to blend it all in. It is simple to use and many functions to choose from. Mix, Chop, Blend, Puree, Liquify. Ice crush, Pulse, Smoothie. ubreakable and so easy to clean by using water and the smoothie function. The 1200 w does it all in seconds.
Great blender! – This blender is multi functional with so many options to use- blend, chop, ice breaker, etc. It is great to make smoothies, cocktails, etc. The stainless steel finish makes it have a nice clean finish, so it is easy to clean. The timer is also a great function as it will automatically stop after 120 seconds, so you don't have to stand there. Show details
Seal on Jug 'melted' - lumps in smoothies – Like a number of others in these reviews. the Seal on our Jug 'melted' and eventually the blade seized. You cannot replace the blade only, and the seal left black muck, so we bought a new jug at $85. Also, smoothies with anything rougher than strawberries and mango leaves lumps in the final smoothie. Tried blending for a long time, tried… Read more
pulsing high and low, tried stopping and stirring. It just seems to get to a point where it can't make it any smoother.
Perfect Blender-No complains – We purchased Breille Blender in 2014, still going strong with no breakdowns, no weird noises or no shoddy controls after so many years. Even the paint and button displays are as good as new, Very highly recommended. Show details
Can’t make thick smoothies – Works well until you want to make a thicker smoothie. It all get stuck and you have to juggle it and push it down with a spoon. Its a little hard to clean. Show details
Breville, what a joke. RUBBISH – BREVILLE, THIS IS RUBBISH, as an Australian company you should take responsibility for this RUBBISH you produce. Like others my unit is not that old but the design of the blade assembly is terrible after minimal use the rubber that supports the blade assembly "melts" or ceases and it makes a terrible noise and the blade is hard to turn. only repair is to purchase a new complete bowl and blades from Breville at a cost of $90 without guarantee on how long it will last.
Breville Service Or NON SERVICE will sell you one for $90 plus delivery of they will sell you a "heavily discounted" new blender, the same model as this that has the same problems etc for $160!!!!! Why pay $160 for something that will last a matter of months at best?
Breville admit this is a design fault and offer a repair.
This is robbery by design without regard for the customer.
This item should be recalled as a failure and not do as designed.
Crapp! Jug does not last more than 12 months – Don't waste your money with this blender. After 12 months the seal of the blade assembly brakes and just leaks everywhere. And, customer service is terrible to say the least. Show details
Never had a better blender – This unit replaces the BBL250 (I think--die cast base, poly jug and five simple buttons across the front) that we had before, and it was well worth the upgrade. Superb level of control from the fine speed control knob and the various settings for different outcomes makes blending a breeze. Much quieter than anything we've used before as well.… Read more
FANTASTIC service from Breville that we have experienced more than three times makes us loyal to this brand.
Used daily and can’t fault it! – Used daily for smoothies and used weekly for making raw treats - this blender works perfectly every time. The self cleaning option is a dream and it’s a very good looking appliance. It functions as a blender, food processor and bar stick (this has also been used to smooth soup - once cooled). The suction cap makes for an air tight seal and it’s a well loved, highly recommended appliance. Show details

good – this blender makes good smoothies and milkshakes. it is a little bit noisy when running but l guess all the blenders are. while it breaks ice cubes but sometimes it stuck if the ice cubes are big or too many, you just need to give it a stir and it will keep on finishing its job. overall a good blender. Average – It is an alright blender, well built pretty good power. It has nothing that stands out about it. It blends well sometimes there are inconsistencies and I don't think that the blades are well built either. Still a 5/10 product. Show details
Best ever – I have been highly satisfied with this blender. I bought it around 5 years ago and it is still going strong and has not had a single. It has been one of my best purcahses. Show details

now there is a high pitch whining coming out bearing which hold the cutters in the bowl this seems to be a VERY LOW standard that i would expect from breville my other breville blender went for over 5years and NOT one problem i will not be going to purchase another breville blender if it will only last 30 times of use regards THE LAST BLENDER
i hope this is not a product for MADE IN CHINA if so bring back MADE IN AUSTRALIA OR NEW ZEALAND
Average blender – THhis machine does the job for smoothies, it could be better at blending the ice and frozen fruit, but does it in time just takes a bit longer compared to the nutri bullet. Show details
Average blender – It’s got a lot of presets there’s one for ice and smoothies etc. it all just seems s bit pointless. A smoothie preset goes for 1minute, but I usually have to do it twice. I think a regular button would do. Also it wasn’t that cheap, but it’s just got a plastic jug. I wash it in the dishwasher which is a plus. Show details
Much better than expected – Had this blender for just under a year. I mostly use it for smoothies and acai bowls. Handles frozen foods with ease. Sometimes a frozen banana gets stuck and it needs a wobble or poke to get it going again. Pretty happy with the value for money. Show details
Blenderrific! – I purchased this item on sale recently from HN. I primarily use this product to make smoothies, in saying that this blender is smooth. The build quality and aesthetics are great along with its performance and I cannot recommend this product enough, it looks amazing in my kitchen and is a real conversation starter! Show details
Love it! – I had wanted to buy a blender to make smoothies every day for a long time. And after doing some research I landed with this model. Never regretted it! It is so efficient, easy to clean and does not take up too much space compared to other blenders out there. Show details
