Brother DCP-6690CW

Frustrating!!!! – Bought this as an A3 scanner and printer does not scan in A3 flatbed is the size of an A3 but only scans in A4. Print quality in standard documents is ok. Print quality for photos defficient. Works reasonably ok when printing from computer. When you go to use it as a photcopier it automatiaclly defaults to the A3 paper which gets very frustrating.
Also when using the scan function from the unit you have no idea where it will end up in the computer - we had trouble locating scanned documents and had to search the computer using the date as a locater.
Needless to say we are now off to buy a HP The box it came in Too frustrating...Misrepresentation about scanning size/capability
Pitty the shop staff could not get the unit to work either, turns out it was faulty but thanks for your happy experience.

It is people like you who give sites like this a bad name. The problems you had with the printer were all down to your lack of understanding/reading the manual.
You can absolutely scan A3, but you need to set this yourself. You can also set where it will send a scanned image. If the machine were able to read your thoughts, and operate accordingly, it would cost significantly more (it would also be useless to the rest of us who manage significantly more brain function than you display).
Try using your head a little, and stop expecting a product to operate telepathically.
