Cons: Printer paper tray only holds a few sheets of paper.
Overall: The main functions seem to work well enough, but one flaw makes it very frustrating to use. The internal paper tray is so thin that it won't hold more than about four or five sheets of paper before it starts pushing previous sheets out of the tray. As such, any documents more than a few sheets requires constant attention while its printing to continually pull out the printed sheets to keep them in order. For longer documents, of say 20 pages, the sheets get so warm they also curl up. This means you need to pull out almost every sheet as it's being printed to avoid this problem.
Pros: The auto feeder works flawlessly. Prints perfectly, with a solid
2400 x 600 dpi. Though no provision for Firewire connection, you can use your good old Parallel port or USB. In case that it will be made as a network printer, there's no need for the USB.
Cons: I regret that being a compact printer: there's no duplex, and no separate output tray.
Overall: USB and Parallel are the only possible ways of connection the MFC7420 is capable, but you could hook it up on the network since its LAN-ready. Don't worry, in case that you got into trouble, Brother's technical support offers unlimited help which ain't bounded by any 1 year or more terms of service (TOS).
