Browning BLR Take Down

A great rifle that delivers on it's promises – This takedown is the second BLR I've owned now. It's a .30-06 in the walnut/blued configuration. In the 100+ rounds I've put through it I've had no stoppages but I have had some issues with the magazine not catching completely and then falling out of the magazine well on recoil! It's accurate with the open sights, putting 5 shots into a 2" group standing offhand at 50m, which I find outstanding. I haven't done a takedown/shoot takedown/shoot group test to see if the POI is changing but I will submit a review once I have. The fit and finish is very good and the whole rifle is very confidence inspiring (particularly with pigs around). Muzzle blast is quite impressive through the 20" barrel, recoil is tolerable until you hit the 40-50 rounds in two hours mark! The rate of fire is quite good, the only problem being the slow rate of sight picture recovery when the barrel leaps skywards on firing. I don't think there is much on the market that can deliver that much firepower (except the 7600) with any more accuracy. I would definitely recommend this rifle to anyone who wants a lever action but likes the smoothness, refinement and accuracy of a bolt action. If you had to choose a pig rifle then I don't think you could find better. I'm thinking of buying one in .223 aswell. Reliable, nice fit and finish, accurate, well- balanced and light, smooth lever/bolt travel. Firepower. My magazine is a bit iffy, yet to investigate fully though. Wish they came with a 22" barrel option.
