No email, no refund, so I submit a dispute through Paypal and now BYOjet instead of just replying to the dispute and dealing with it are holding my refund whilst they 'investigate'. They still claim the flights are cancelled but today they tell me refunds take 12 weeks as per their T&C's and asking 'Who told you 5 / 10 days?' Really glad I paid through Paypal because if I hadn't used BYOJet in the past and I hadn't paid with Paypal, I would 100% think this is a complete and utter scam. Staff member, 'MUFFZ' tonight even asked that I remove the Paypal dispute and stated that THEN the disputes team would contact me. LOL, not a chance. Instead it's just pure incompetence and a way for BYO to hold onto customers funds in their accounts for as long as possible. It would be quicker for my Paypal dispute to run it's course than wait for then to actually refund me. If you are looking at booking flights or accommodation and BYOJet aren't considerably cheaper than Agoda, Trip or other similar companies, avoid BYOjet. Never had these issues with other sites, never had to wait over a month for a refund or have to ring them 4 to 5 times. Never using them again after this, absolute joke of a company.

passenger's name has turned into an unnecessarily difficult and frustrating process.

BYOjet's website makes it almost impossible to manage a booking or resolve an issue independently. Their customer service has been consistently unhelpful, with conflicting advice and little apparent effort to find a practical solution.

Despite having purchased a flexible fare, I was told I would need to pay both a name-change fee and the difference in airfare, even though I wasn't changing the passenger or the flight. Nobody could adequately explain why this was necessary or why correcting the name could potentially cost more than cancelling and rebooking.

I've now had to contact LATAM directly to try to resolve something that BYOjet should have been able to handle as my booking agent.

The most frustrating part isn't that an error occurred, but how difficult BYOjet has made it to resolve. The website is restrictive, the advice is inconsistent, and the customer service adds frustration rather than helping.

Based on this experience, I would strongly recommend booking directly with the airline rather than through BYOjet. Any potential savings simply aren't worth the hassle when something goes wrong.

since same class of tickets were available. However they delayed requesting airlines ( a week) till it got sold out so I have to pay. I cancelled the tickets but they still are yet to refund - reason given is that airlines hasnt provided. But airlines confirmed they sent refund days ago.

Please use another agent - Trip.com - or buy from airlines.

Avoid this BYOJET if you want a peace of mind.

I was directed to this site by skyscanner whom I have used before and learnt to trust. The booking process with BYOjet was quick and I got the best price here for my itinerary. Almost immediately I also got the airline PNR and eticket so am happy so far. Found through sky scanner as a genuine cheap flight booking option. Process was easy and clear. Quite a few add ons advertised but unsurprising given how much cheaper the same flights were. Will see how the lead up to flying goes!

My wife and I selected and paid for our seats but never received them, when we asked for our refund BYOJET made every excuse, we have used this booking site many times but never again. Warning do not use BYOJET.

said they had no record of a seat selection and that I should call BYOjet.

I called BYOjet and they said that open checking with the "seat provider 3rd party" they were unable to assign me my requested seats because they were already assigned to other passengers. The only thing they said they could do is to give me a refund, which is pointless as what I wanted was the seats I requested.

What was worse was that they had eight months and they never once told me that my seats were unconfirmed.

NEVER BUY EVER FROM BYOJET (or Aunt Better or Flight Centre, they are all owned by the same company.)

I used the "I know the pilot" app which gave me a variety of companies to choose my booking through. I chose BYOjet as my go to because I've used them before and is a trustworthy easy booking process with great communication .

Flights went as planned. The site has lots of add-ons and extras which is annoying but not tons worse than the airlines themselves in reality. In hindsight I'd pay extra for cancellation and bag coverage. Booking was easy. I did not pay for premium support. The airline I booked with made a change an hour after my booking was made, and that change made one of my connections impossible. and if you are not responsive in 3 minutes, they leave - so that is a challenge. However, once I managed to talk with a BYOJet staff member - Vien - they fixed the problem quickly and perfectly. I appreciate Vien's assistance they provided great service. So I would use BYOJet again, but maybe next time I would buy premium support so that I don't have to spend hours staring at an online chat window waiting for someone to respond. Once they do respond the service is great. It's just the waiting that is annoying.
