Pros: Very, very high optical zoom. An image stabilizer that actually works. Easy switch between TV formats. Very small and light weight. external mic jack. Very good CCD for price. I like it.
Cons: Box contents is a bit poor but for the price what would you expect. No PC driver discs or anything, not that you would need it. Battery could be a bit more beefy.
I would have liked a remote controller like the MD245. View finder is a bit hard to look through.
Overall: Price and performance are unbeatable. I paid $289AUD down from the advertised price of $378, WOW!. The camera is very simple or basic with few buttons. All functions are accessed with the jog controller and is very easy to use. I still prefer tape over HDD or SD cameras due to convenience and media price.
What else can I say? It's not a high end HD or 3 CCD camera but at it's market position it is the best in class as far as I'm concerned. It even says made in Japan on the bottom and not Malaysia or Philippines or something. Canon is always top notch, better than Sony most times.
