14 year old printer - still works like a brand new one – This is a good printer. It can print pages in either black and white or colour. It will print 'photo quality' if that is your thing. Despite its age mine is in mint condition - probably since I have printed a Grand Total of 5 pages and 2 photos since I bought It. Of course my lack of use is not Canons fault! The good: It does what it says… Read more
- prints pages
The bad:
Nothing really
The ugly:
Driver support on OS X is non-existent but a workaround exists.. Sadly, I don't see Canon fixing this issue for a 14 year old printer any time soon. No issues with Windows support..
Excellent – I am a teacher and so my printer gets a fair hammering. The print quality is great and I do all my own photos and they look good. The ink cartridges are easy to refill so that saves me a fair bit of money. I would definitely recommend this printer to others. It is the best value printer I have ever bought. Cheap to buy, easy to use, still going… Read more
strong after a lot of use, the overall print quality is excellent nothing at all, there are no drawbacks that I have found and I have had the printer for several years.
Good – After owning a few of Canon's previous printers I expected a lot from this one. The ip3000 may be used as a photo printer, but do not expect amazing results. My wife finds it adequate for scrapbooking but for something like a wedding album this would not really be up to standard. The printer is pretty reliable though, so I would recommend it as an… Read more
inexpensive entry level photo printer. Brad Henry still going strong after a lot of use, the overall print quality is excellent Haven't found any bad things
Excellent – I have tried quite a few printers and this one comes up the best for all round printing, with a bonus of being able to print on CD/DVD discs. Brilliant for CD/DVD labelling. Ease of use. Separate ink tanks better than multiple colours Haven't found any bad things
OK – Overall i would buy this printer small doesn't take a lot of space low cost of toner and fast prints great family photos. This printer is very fast and rarely paper get stuck doesn't use a lot of toner the photo comes out great shiny. The thing i really don't like about it its not wireless so i can't be another room printing but not really a problem.
OK – I loved this printer when I bought it - it does photos beautifully and the duplex was a fantastic option. When I ran out of colour it didn't bother me too much because I assumed I could just keep printing in black and white. While that works fine with text, images don't print properly at all. Instead of a crisp black and white finish, I get the… Read more
bare outlines of the image. I've fiddled with the machine as much as I can but no luck, it needs colour ink tanks to print black and white images. That's a huge waste of money in my opinion and while it's a great photo printer, I wouldn't go buying it for lecture notes. My next printer will be a black and white laser. - Individual ink tanks means less upfront cost to replace them
- High quality printing
- Duplex (two sided) printing means you can save paper
- Really fast in draft mode - Black and white image printing doesn't work properly without colour!
Excellent – Very decent printer, I have the exact same thing on my computer. It does its job extremely well, I wouldn't have anything else to use for a printer. I have never ever ever ever in my lifetime seen such a top performance piece of work. The quality of the printing process, such as the speed and color quality is just remarkable. I wouldn't trade this… Read more
printer for anything else in the world or in its class for that matter. So overall, if you guys are looking for the following things in a printer:
Quality, Variety, and Convenience, than this is the printer you have been looking for all of your life. I like that it is a fast printer. I personally have this same exact make and or model of the same type of printer. I love how it functions, it is just a very unique quality to have. The only thing I dislike about this printer model and or make if you will. Is that it does not come in a decent variety of colors. I was looking for a blue printer of this make and or model, but it turns it they only come in gray and or white packages.
Good – It's a great low cost to buy printer, with low cost ink cartridge costs. Over two years old, lots of printing photos and uni assignments, and still going strong. Top and tray Feed, Duplexing, Controls on front, Low cost Compatible cartridges available. Quiet Paper feed from the top could be improved with a longer guide
Excellent – It's a great low cost to buy printer, with low cost ink cartridge costs. Over two years old, lots of printing photos and uni assignments, and still going strong. Good quality printing, easy print cartidge changes, super low print cartridge costs. Paper feed from the top could be improved with a longer guide
Good – The ip 3000 printer is the best printer I have ever owned although I have now replaced it with a Canon ip5300. It allows you to reuse paper by having a top feed system as well as a tray system. It has excellent colour and black and white quality with duplexing (printing on reverse side of paper) included. It is quiet and efficient and… Read more
prints reasonably speedily. The controls on the front mean that it can be placed on an above eye level shelf on your computer desk.
Sadly the costs for repairing ink delivery problems are too high and so in our case made the printer not worth repairing. It breaks my heart to throw away such a great printer all because of overpriced spare parts. Top and tray Feed, Duplexing, Controls on front, Low cost Compatible cartridges available. Quiet Costly to repair

inexpensive entry level photo printer. Brad Henry. Inexpensive printer that will do a fine job for text documents and produce reasonable photos. Reliable and quiet. Photo quality is not as good as some other model Canon printers.
OK – Good printer overall but if I'd known about that failing in cd/dvd printing I would have purchased another product. Good quality printing with excellent photo and colour reproduction. Hate that white area that doesn't print in the centre of cd/dvds.
Good – very compact and quiet It is so quiet and doesn't take up too much space, quality of pictures is very good. I do scrapbooking so this is definetly a benefit. not anything at all , so far

Know better, choose better.
Excellent – So far this is the best inkjet printer I have purchased. The separate ink tanks appear to hold more ink than the tri-clour tank of my older printer, and it seems a lot more economical on ink. I don't have to remove the paper to insert envelopes, because of the separate tray, which works great, and the paper stays flat in the lower tray. Fastest… Read more
response time of any other printer that I have owned.
The CD label printing works great..I love it.The only downside is paying a bit extra for CD's with the printable surface, but I guess it cheaper than a seperate labeller. A great machine. Separate Inks tanks.
Can print on printable CD's & DVD's
Separate paper trays
Quick to respond
Good value for the money Cannot find any
Excellent – Top printer, great functionality, small in size, small in cost but HUGE on results. One of the best value 4 cartridge (CMYK) colour photo printers going around. Great colour. DVD/CD printing ability kills labelling dead. Paper cassette PLUS sheet feeder! Will even do duplex printing automatically! Amazing! Not great at B&W photo printing but not many inkjets are and this won't bother very many people.
