A Scientific Calculator should have scientific constants – This calculator isn't terrible but I'd avoid it if you are hoping to use it for science. Lack of constants is a huge pain. Exam time i'm spending way too much time entering in constants from the formula sheet rather than just selecting them from a dropdown list like most scientific calculators have. Need to figure something outside of the exam you have to google the values and input them making it essentially useless.

If You Want Speed – I bought this cause I just started my Chartered Accountants program. I needed something that was easy to use, responsive and could allow me to check for errors in workings. This ticks all the boxes. I considered the FX-82 plus II as well but it's not as slim and the buttons aren't as smooth. Very happy.

:O – This calculator is so good compared to my previous year one i recommend this to students in year 7. It is very handy, however the model is slightly thick. the fx-82AU PLUS is more slim and therefore more portable. They both serve the same purpose though. So if you get this, it will serve its purpose most diligently! Energy effiecient Too thick

Good – For high school students I wouldn't recommend this casio style. Although its functions are great, its a lot slower and doesn't provide you with a 'natural display' as the casio fx-82AU does. It stores memory of previous numbers and answers, allowing you to input previous answers through the use of the ANS key. The battery does last a long time, and slowly begins to fade when the battery is running out. This gives you warning of when it needs to be changed. Compared to your standard calculator, the casio fx100 is a great calculator. It has a handy delete button, allows you to do logarithms, trigonometry, use pi, generate random numbers and much more. The calculator comes with a set of instructions guiding you through each of the functions step by step. Not a 'natural display' calculator, meaning that you can't see your fractions on top of each other or visualise equations as the would be written. They're also more expensive than your standard calculator and you wouldn't be able to pick one up for less than $20.
