Key markings rub off quickly! – Confusing to use, and teachers don't understand these calculators either. Not suitable for school use, the key markings rub off quickly. The Casio warranty process means you'll just give up

Brilliant Calculator! – This calculator has guided me through High School and once it died. Regardless of it's untimely death, I bought it AGAIN because of it's great reliability, long battery life, value and of course the top notch brand reputation of Casio. This calculator is currently on a journey with me venturing out to University. I for one, who continually uses maths in my life can say this is a brilliant calculator.

Having screen problems – I have bought this one for my son when he was in high school and it did not give any problems, but I have now bought 3 calculators for my daughter and the screen is playing up. It goes off or lines across the screen. I am really disappointed with the recent ones, looks like the quality has gone down in the last couple of years.

Good – The FXA2AU is a fabulous calculator, especially for high school and uni students. It's one of the best calculators out there these days and can be used by people of all ages. Functionally I would rate it 5 out of 5, but due to its ridiculous original price, it's only getting a 4. It comes with a handy instructions manual teaching you how to use… Read more

this multifunctional calculator and tips for working out equations in the quickest manner. I particularly love this calculator as it has a delete button, where you can erase one digit at a time, or add in numbers if you missed them. Depending on where you purchase the calculator it can be an absolute rip off. A friend purchased one from our local newsagent and it was $55, where as the back to school sales at Officeworks and Big W usually sell them for just over $20.

Excellent Calculator – I can see no fault with the Casio FX-82AU. I first purchased this calculator more than 3 years ago, and today, right now, it still works properly. I have only changed the battery once in this three year period, and that was during last fortnight! The battery is simple to change, all you need is a AAA battery and a screwdriver. A "problem"… Read more ·  3

that some raise about the calculator, however, is that fractioned awnsers cannot be converted into decimals. This is not a problem! All the user needs to do is press the S<->D button which is located above the Delete button.

The manual is easy to understand and comes in different languages.

The price of this calculator is inexpensive. It also comes with a case, to prevent scratching on the screen. The calculator is small and lightweight.

To conclude, I see no fault at all with this cauculator, which is why I rate it 5/5. I recommend it for all school and university students. Price is just right, lightweight, easy to use, manual is easy to understand. Battery life is excellent, and battery is easy to change.

Great calculator – I bought mine 6 years ago and it still works well today, I only had to replace the battery a couple of times but other than that all the functions work well and is still my go-to calculator. The instruction book is really good as it explains the scientific functions in detail. Good clear display, I also find the Replay function really handy… Read more

especially when you're doing long equations and you made an error/ accidentally cleared it There are some scientific functions that can't be done on this calculator. Even though I still use this, I bought a more powerful one for graphs

OK – I just wanted a calculator to do electrical engineering calcs as efficiently as possible because I am very, VERY busy. This thing will do it eventually given enough patience. I'll give it a week. If nothing changes, one of us will have to go. It turns on OK. I suppose I'll get used to it. Unlike a lot of scientific calculators the operating… Read more

design is counter intuitive even if (or maybe because) you know what you are doing. I purchased mine earlier today, and within a couple of hours I wanted to beat it to death against a brick wall. And what is the current obsession for expressing division results in fractions by default? That should be an option for the inumerates!

Good – Overall the Casio FX-82AU is a great calculator which is easy to use and a great calculator overall, it is efficient and is a great tool for students and teachers. If there were a few more added features, this calculator would have scored 5 our of 5. In this case I rated it a 4! Great The Cashio FX-82AU is a great calculator. easy to simply pick up and calculate stuff. The calculator is also highly efficient and is great for use for students and teachers. The calculator has easy to use features and a clear screen. The calculator can sometimes get a little annoying becuase it lacks some features which other scientific calculators have!

Good – It's a really functional calculator which is a great design. Quality Casio product with little issues or problems. One of the best on the market. Good price for a scientific calculator with as many functions as it has. Great for highschool level and basic university science level. You will need to read the instruction booklet thoroughly to… Read more

get the best out of the calculator. Like most scientific calculators, they are not self-explanatory. It actually has a lot of great functions which will make life easier but if you don't know what you're doing, it is useless to you.

Excellent – At first, it was very difficult for me to enter the right data and calculations in this calculator. It took me a while to figure out that the mode setup button brings up a menu of choices. But after a little practice, and a little help from my friend who’s had this same calculator for a some time, every thing was easy breezy. Now, I do come up… Read more

with the accurate results which is really important for an architecture student like me. Statistical calcuations made easy. Difficult to use at first.

Good – I have the previous version, where the top line for writing equations/sums is only one line (not two as in this calculator)... I've grown use to it, so when my sister got this calculator for school, the benefits of the two-line top were questionable. It took me a while to get use to it, but even so I still prefer my (more old fashioned) fx-82MS.… Read more

The two-line equation writing line at the top is useful, but it can take time entering in fractions, roots, etc. Thinner than my fx-82MS (the previous model). Fairly cheap and worth every cent (especially if you are a student). You start to become dependant on your calculator! Takes time to get use to this one.

Excellent – The Casio FX-82AU is the perfect calculator for students who have just started high school (years 7-8) because it is very simple to use. It has a great design and is thin a compact. and definitely of the best you can find these days. The functions are great, and definitely easy to use. Perfect for students who have never used a scientific calculator before. ABSOLUTELY NOTHING! There is nothing wrong with this calculator.

Excellent – I bought this one as it was a requirement for school and it has so far lasted me two and a bit years with real problems. Once or twice the display fades out, but it is fixed by sharply tapping the calculator against a table, which is strange but it doesn't happen often so... no problems. Aside from that though, I love this calculator. It has a… Read more

neat design and the display is very good. You can do a large variety of calculations and can enter fractions, surds, factorials, indices and much more with ease. Awesome. Great display, durable, value for money too None really... just takes a bit of time getting used to like all scientific calculators

Good – It's one of the best scientific calculators I've used, though I still prefer my fx-82MS as it's a bit more hardier. I've also grown accustomed to where the buttons are and etc. Great calculator students, easy to read screen, and one that I'd recommend for all. Not as tough as it could be, especially seeing as high schools require students to buy… Read more

this, it has to put up with getting squished at the bottom of bags and books, and so forth. Now every time I turn on my calculator, I have to give it a good beating before it decides to turn on.

Good – I purchased these scientific calculators back when I was in highschool, which is several years back. It surprising has a fairly long battery life and it also quite durable. I don't even remember ever having changed the batteries. This calculator can definitely allow you to do various differnt functions - such as fractions, surds, trigonomotry,… Read more

Has easy to read and scroll screen

I would definitely recommend. You can easily purchase one for under $10 from shops or even ebay. A calculator perfect for students. Value for money May take a while getting used to the calculator and all its functions.

Good – a good value calculator that meets the requirements of high school math courses. casio is a good brand and these are quite reliable. The batteries seem to last forever - I have never changed mine at all. It does need to be taken care of though - it will not stand up to rough handling. If cared for it should last throughout highschool a good… Read more

Excellent – The Casio Fx 82 AU is a good calculator however the Casio FX 82 AU Plus calculator was recently released and i don't think the original is still available for sale. the calculator to statistics. IT is very useful in high school as you realise how much it can do however if you are just making simple calculations and ordinary calculator is better. Can do almost anything, isn't very expensive at back to school sales. Is difficult to use and utilise functins at first.
