Celestron NexStar 80 SLT

A good scope for any begginner/intermediate astronomer – All good refractors give exceptional planetary views. This scope is no exception. The moon's craters are stunning to look at at 25x magnification. Saturn's rings are beautiful at 100x. Jupiter was seen as a disk with some dull bands, the four Galilean moons. Deep sky objects, however, are not as stunning. While the Orion Nebula is easily seen as a ghostly patch, others are harder to spot. Star clusters are pretty good to see through this too. I have used it for visual purposes only as altazimuth mounts are poor at tracking. Portable and images were sharp Tracking was not that good. Needs baterries
