not an option I was told, only other DVDS or store credit. The DVDs were clearly old and in poor condition. In summary, a Poor Attitude to the customer & refusal to do the right thing. In store person would not refer the matter to manager / owner. Told me to come back again on Monday. Pathetic.

Sad to see this place close down – Been to civic video as a kid and teen years They had the best games and new releases all the time. From hiring Super Nintendo games to blu ray thank you for the great memories sad to see this era end

Very disappointed – I have been faithfully supporting the local Civic video store in Andergrove Mackay for years, renting weekly. I have always brought back my DVDs on time and in good condition. not realised it was not a weekly. I was then informed I owed $36 when I bought back the video after the week. Once I was also accused of having an out standing video that I had bought back. After a call to the store it was confirmed I had returned it and it was returned on time.There was no apology offered. I would have thought given my good rental record and the years of support I had given the store, that a bit of leniency would have been in order. I will not be back again and they have lost my support from now on. Which is a shame.

Useless staff – Went to Malaga civic after my old video store shut down...first experience I had there was spotting a new release that had came out in 2013!?! Crazy right? WELL Our second experience there my mum asked for season 2/3/4 of the walking dead only to be given 1 disc (4 episodes out of 13) and the same went for the other TWO seasons! Only one disc for each season..absolute waste of money...place gives off bad vibes...

had to say and kept talking over me about the scratched dvd I had to return. So rude. Bad customer service by far and i am a regular there. If that is how they treat their regulars then i don't know what is going on.

didn't seem to care . Untill I rang him back and I said did the other 4 dvds came back and he said Yes they did and I said see told you I didn't get them out .NO apology no nothing. So not very happy.

Great variety, cheap prices – This store completes me! It has everything I need. They variety is excellent as well as low cost. Cheap Tuesday rentals are my fav as they always put the new releases out a day early. The staff are also amazing helping when needed. There ex rental range is extensive and low cost as well. A great store! Low cost, friendly staff, openeing hours are great Cleanliness of some stores are left to be desired.

Civic's DVD quality really lets them down! – We've been hiring from Civic video since late 2009 as its the only video shop thats close to home - and the other is a good 30 minute drive away. I cant begin to count how many dvd's we've hired that dont play - get half way through the movie and stop and or skip so badly it sounds that my XBox is going to explode.

I called Civic head office after the branch we go to basically shrugged their shoulders and didnt want to do anything about the quality of their dvd's... Their head office was less of a help than the local store, I wasnt asking for anything other than telling them how many times and trips we've wasted to get dvd's and had to return them for another that did the exact same thing "not play"...

We boycotted Civic for about 12 months and did the 30min drive to the local(ish) Block Buster and hired from them - without one hiccup ever! We even got freebies of them for being a customer and were rewarded for our patronage. This up until it closed down due to financial difficulties early 2012.

So we reluctantly went and got some movies early this week, asked for the best 'least scratched' and further asked for them to be cleaned prior to rental which we waited about 15mins to do. We took off home optimistic with out selection and how would you be - 3 of the 6 dvd's didnt want to play - even with forwarding through chapters the dvd's skipped and stopped and 'trying to read disc' showed up...

Now I understand that it isnt the stores employees fault to some degree - they should flag and test the dvd's when we return them rather than just put them back for the next person - the store manager should be notified as this is a complete waste of time for us with fuel and time wasted.

I think that flogging this dead horse will never bring results - have taken the DVD's back, given them a polite smile and will possibly never ever go back because of whats happened. I'll just save up and buy the dvd's when they come out. Store was close to home DVD's consistantly scratched and dont play, no response from store manager - response from Civic video franchise business hub 'pretty poor'...

Excellent – We often go to Civic Video on their cheap tuesday and get heaps of movies out for only $1.10. Its extremely cheap and affordable! I like that they do not have cards that i usually loose all the time. All i need to remember is my phone number and my password. releases to go around. If i desperately want a movie i know if popular i reserve them before i go. They often have weekend specials so you can get so many DVD for a certain price. This is always good when you have mates over and you can go halves. You can often bring is competitor coupons anyway to get a good deal! Great service at our local stored. Lenient of handing DVD back in on overdue day, i have often been a little late and they have not stung me with an overdue fee They are a little smaller than the other video stores like blockbuster and video ezy.

Excellent – They have a heap of easy located stores with very friendly staff who are very helpful and friendly. I haven't had any problems with scratched disc's they always buff them before they give them to you. have cheap Tuesdays with very cheap rentals, they have a great range of new releases and old releases they also maintain there discs very well. The late fees seem to be a little high and you have to pay all in one go.
