Creative WP-250

Great design undermined by poor bluetooth range – I bought these headphones primarily for use with my iPhone 4 when riding to/from work on my bicycle. Sound: OK, but the treble lacks clarity, I understand this is due to the Bluetooth A2DP audio spec these headphones support. Bass is good. Overall they sound like sub-$50 headphones, noticbly inferior to Klipsch and Sennheizer earbuds I've owned in the $100-150 range.

Controls:

Nice layout of volume, pause, fast forward/rewind, call etc. It took a bit of fiddling to get the headphones to fit snugly on my ears and I had to tilt them forward slightly.

Bluetooth Range:

FAIL! With the iPhone in my pocket the sound constantly drops out (for about half a second each time) which quickly becomes unbearable. This happens either on the bike or simply walking along. I can only see this working if my iPhone is either strapped to my arm (no thanks) or in a shirt/jacket pocket (not very practical in the summer). I have no problems with my Creative D100 portable speaker and can walk around at least 5m (20 feet) away (y'know, like Bluetooth is supposed to work!) so the iPhone isn't the problem.

Summary:

Unfortunately the extremely low Bluetooth range renders these headphones unusable for me. It's disappointing to have such a broken product when I love my Creative D100 so much. Probably this is really only a 1/5 in its current state, but if Creative could fix the Bluetooth range and add support for the Bluetooth AptX audio format it would be close to a 5/5 product. Wireless is nice when it works, button layout very good. Bluetooth range is so short as to be almost unusable, sound quality mediocre.
