If I could give a 0 out of 5... I would... If I could go lower - I would... Seriously poor customer service. Over 48 hours to respond to an email - where I am requesting to know if they received the documents they asked for... It saddens me no end that after 26 years being a customer and two houses with these people this is how they now treat others - no better than any of the big banks... Time to move on.

Awful customer service, not competitive at all – We currently are GSB members and have our home loan with GSB. We have a car loan with Toyota finance and thought we could refinance through GSB since we have moved all our banking across to them, the car was purchased brand new and is only 1 year old and we’ve already paid off 10K in the last year. we were pre-approved for a much higher rate than the one listed online. We checked both of our credit scores and they are considered “great” credit scores but we were offered a rate in the good category. We called up and asked if they could at least match the Toyota finance rate (which isn’t as low as their “great” rate but we thought at least if they matched we wouldn’t be worse off with them) and they replied bluntly that they don’t negotiate and practically hung up the phone, acting like we were so rude for asking.

We then got an email the next day asking for us to upload documents to continue the loan process. We replied saying we called yesterday and you said you wouldn’t match the rate so there was no point in refinancing if it’s for a worse rate, to which they closed the application and sent an automated bot email.

Since when do banks not discuss and chat options through with customers? We were literally giving them the option for free money, as we are already paying the same interest to another company anyway? We also have our mortgage with them so you’d think they would be friendlier. I worked in banking for many years and was absolutely shocked with their responses.

Misleading at best - Rate of 5.49% only achievable with a very high score within excellent credit rating – The 5.49% rate advertised is rarely given even with an excellent credit report within the required score range. The staff at Great Southern Bank have been consistently arrogant and rude and refuse to connect you to a manager for assistance and randomly hang up on you! great and helpful service , but as is ALWAYS the case the service is beyond appalling. BEWARE it has been our long term experience many many times that they are helpful until you are tied into a contract then the after sales service is beyond appalling!! I can’t emphasise enough to all the young people working hard to get ahead to stay away from this bank!

not access the office until the 27th of January. In the mean time, I’ve given GS all my PAYG summaries and previous payslips. Apparently PAYG and payslips don’t count as a record of holding a job. I’m not sure how an employment contract is a stronger piece of evidence than my payslips. This wasn’t something they asked for initially. If this was such important document, you’d think the loan team would ask for it straight away. This bank has no support for Youth and I would not recommend using this bank if you’d like a bank with good customer service. We constantly get hung up on when the customer service team can’t help us. We’ve been ringing the customer service team multiple times a day for a week, and our loan has not progressed anywhere. It’s getting to the point where my mother is considering removing her home loan and taking our whole families business elsewhere. Before applying for a loan here, look at the reviews of any other bank. I wish I looked before committing a week of my time to a incompetent company. My friends are starting to buy houses, and I will make sure they steer clear of this bank for a home loan, for any loan.

Great! – Initial contact wasn’t the greatest but once I got in contact with the lender assigned to my application she was amazing! Chamali was so helpful and sped through the process with the entire thing only taking 3-4 business days from application to funding. No early exit fees/ monthly fees etc Show details ·  1

best in customer service and getting results – recently I dealt with Christine Uttley based in sydney, in the process of getting a car loan she went through the financials in detail and recommend me the best loan suit my situation. you want to make extra repayments. Our loan was processed and funded in a couple of days from start to finish. It was such an easy process, we are now in the process of transfering all of our banking over with CUA. Every time I have called to ask questions each person has been so friendly and helpful. I am very impressed by good old fashioned service CUA provides. Much better than the service of big 4 banks!

frustrating as the process was very delayed. As time was of the essence and the process just to get it approved was drawn out far longer than was promised, we headed into the CUA Brisbane Branch to escalate the process.

My son and I could not have been any more happier with the courtesy shown and service offered to us by Nicky Parker, Dom Deschampl and Stephen Woodall at the 261 Queen Street Branch. They were able to escalate the funding being released and had a cheque ready for us to pay for my son's first car within four hours of us entering their office.

Highly recommend that anyone considering applying for a loan, that this be their first place to apply.

Love CUA – I agree with some of the comments here in that the online CUA service is totally different to the in-branch service when it comes to car loans or any loan for that matter. If you have 60 minutes and bring the correct documentation (4 printed recent payslips), licence details, savings details/ superannuation details and if you already have an… Read more

account with CUA then you wont be disapointed in receiving a fast service and you should get the OK and paperwork lodged and all done within an hour. You should be picking up your new or secondhand car by the next day. My advice is leave the online/call centre alone as its very slow and the waiting time for responses is very slow - deal directly with the local CUA branch. Make an appointment, and go in and see them at the local branch.

hadn't heard anything so I called them up. The person on the phone told me that they were currently processing applications that had an initial application date of 2 weeks prior! So mine was at least another 2 weeks before even being looked at and verified! My application was put in an escalation queue and extra details were taken. I was told I would hear back in 2 business days. I heard nothing so I applied with another company and received positive information from them within 24 hours.

It's now been 9 business days since I submitted my application and I've heard nothing back.

Excellent – very fast friendly efficient staff and no ongoing fees. I am in control of my loan repayments. lots of extras as well including an operating account with a visa debit card and 15 free withdrawals per month. easy to apply in the branch, didn't need to fill in an application form.applied that morning, approved, loan issued by close of business. very friendly helpful staff. will deal with them again. dont use the call centre.
