TOTAL WASTE OF MONEY! Poor fitting and terrible absorbency (non existent) – Firstly the worst part about this company is they have no phone number the only way you can contact them is by email. I emailed the owner of the company MICHELLE Parker. Regarding the fact my daughter no longer fits the nappy around the waist and that the studs now stick into her skin and she says hurt so I can't use them anymore. Michelle… Read more
proceeded to say oh we don't run into this problem...well my daughter is skinny for her age! The nappies also leak around the legs so I could only use them during the day and had to change them every hour! I had to use disposables at night if I or my daughter wanted any sleep!
Michelle the owner said she would make up some extra studs so I could continue using the nappies....well I never got them and I emailed her about 6 times asking when she would send them with no response! So unprofessional and a total rip off waste of money. They were so expensive and I can't even use them. Look for a more reputable company that you can at least call. This lady doesn't give a damn.
Do not buy!!!!! they are fraudulent – I really wish I had taken the negative reviews on the company on board when purchasing a starter kit, and there are plenty of negative reviews. Paid my money and seven months later still waiting for products. Like others, I have emailed only to be lied to and insulted. There are plenty of reputable companies that sell superior products. exploring legal action to recover my money. This company is dishonest, I have given them plenty of opportunities to remedy the situation and have been very patient. Please do NOT even consider buying from them.
Disappointing cloth nappy – I found the cloth nappies very disappointing. I had problems with them from the start with constant leaks no matter what I did. They did not fit my daughter or son very because there were gaps around the legs and waist leading to big leaks. They did not improve in absorbency over time and I was having to change the nappy every 1.5 to 2 hours, not… Read more
to mention the soiled clothes. Had to revert to disposables for overnight use because I ended up with a soaked baby and bed even with the extra very bulky night time inserts. They were inconsistently made with some having loose elastics making them impossible to fit properly. Positives are they were great at containing runny newborn poos compared to disposables and hardly ever got a poo-plosion. Suffered through them because they were expensive and effective enough for use at home. Not recommended if you want to use them full time. Cute patterns, initially the fabric was very soft to the touch. Very expensive compared to other brands that work, leaks every time, takes a long time to dry, fabric deteriorated after a couple of months of use.
Love these nappies – It took couple of tries to get the nappies onto my skinny newborn without leaks but we have the hang if it now. After discovering that that the boosters can be used on their own I can now use them for tummy time (the poppered insert meant bub's legs flailed in the air). I love that these can be try pailed. These are easy to use and lighter than… Read more
other MCNs I have been given. Bubs is infinitely more comfy and the reusable wipes means he doesn't scream at change time. He's only had nappy rash while I used the disposable wipes. Can take time to dry completely but we are used to this now.
Excellent – A very versatile nappy, and totally think they are worth the money we paid, considering they have already paid for themselves really! 9 months disposable free in this household! They certainly aren’t the trimmest nappy on the market, but I don’t think they are claiming to be. I like that they often have specials so I jump at every opportunity… Read more
to build up my stash. They have a newsletter which seems frequent and always has a different promo. I have about 18 Cushie Tushies now and once the snap busted on one of them – they have a lifetime guarantee and I posted it back and they fixed it and sent it right back to me! I also found their facebook site helpful at the beginning when I was trying to work everything out! It’s a great nappy and they have always been a pleasure to deal with. Love that they are a one size fits most, meaning I don't have to buy more as bubs grows out of them. Started using when bubs was about 5kg and after a few failed attempts (a few leaks) I tweaked the fit and got the hang of it. Even when I had a few leaks at the start I have never to this day had a number 2 blow out! Very very rarely get a leak these days and have been using for 9 months now. Cushie Tushies make up for about 80% of my stash. A tad bulky, but I guess this comes with making a nappy that fits from newborn through to toilet training. I do have some trimmer nappies in my stash but find that I only tend to use them when the cushie tushies are all in the wash or drying due to them not being as absorbant and a few #2 leaks.
Good – Excellent product. Saves you lots of money in the long run and much better for the environment. I reccomend to all my friends. Very easy to use and wash. My childcare is happy to use them due to the ease. I find they last as long as a huggies disposable does in terms of change time. I have been using these nappies since my little girl was 4 months… Read more
and she is now 22 months. As my little girl drinks lots (4-6litres/ day (We live in Darwin!), I often bulk them out with extra liners or the night booster if I want to extend the change time. I have never had any problems with nappy rash, which I did have when I used disposables for my first child. I like the range of colours as I tend to match my daughters outfit with her nappy. As the outer is polar fleece, they tend to pick up the lint if washed with towells.
Excellent – My daughter is 10 months old and I have been using my Cushie Tushie's full time for 9 months now. I love them and can't believe how sceptical I was to give them a try (my sister eventually convinced me - she's been using them full time for about two years now). After trying terry squares for my first child and lasting 3 months, I used huggies… Read more
disposables for my second child and was reluctant to try cloth again for child 3, but am so glad I decided to give Cushie Tushie's a try. Great for the environment, baby and the bank. Easy to use, great designs, fit well and looks great. I love that these nappies are a one size fits all design. I bought the half time kit intending to use disposables when out and about and at night, but I have been using Cushie Tushie's full time for 9 months now. The wetbags make it so easy to use Cushie Tushies when out and about and night use is just a matter of working out which boosters work best for you. They do take a long time to dry as the absorbent layers are all in one (AIO) I don't mind as I really like the ease of the AIO design (easy for Dad's and Grandparents to use-don't need a MCN degree) I find they dry fine on a hot day as long as you put cotton side up and when it has been wet I find air drying inside for 24 hours and finishing off in the dryer is good.
Good – Great product with fantastic consultants who are there to help if you need to tweak how you put them on to get them to fit right. So wonderful having to only buy one set of nappies new born to toilet training, I'll be using this set for my next bub too, Great valua:) Really easy to use, my hubby was nervous and not quite sure I was telling the… Read more
truth about them being as easy as disposables but he only took 2 goes putting one on our son before he was confident.I love the Basix plain colours, bought a new white one for his baptism and a black one when our friends got married in 40oc summer heat outside, topped it with a white shirt and little tie, heaps better than having him in all the clothes. I love that the snap it boosters can swap between the Couture and the Basix. Like all Modern Cloth Nappies they need to dry fully for full absorbancy, not so much a bad thing just the way it is, I got used to it very quickly and wash on a night then hang them out and the next afternoon they are dry.
Terrible – This nappy simply does not live up to expectations, particularly compared to others in the price range. I only have a couple thank goodness, as I'd be furious if I'd bought a stash of them to find they don't work. Very disappointing. Fabrics feel and look gorgeous. Lilke the snap buttons rather than velcro. Oh god where do I begin. They leak. … Read more
Every single time. They cannot contain even the most moderate of output. They don't fit well, and gape at the legs and waist. The quality of the fabrics is terrible. The exterior fabric pils very easily, and the inserts shrink when you wash them. The inner lining also pils very quickly, so the whole thing winds up looking like cheap crap.
Terrible – Worst nappy in my collection. This nappy has leaked since the first day. I hoped that the absorbency would improve over time, but did not. I think the manufacturer may have forgotten to sew in the PUL layer -- they are that bad!!! And they are really poorly sewn -- seems amateurish as the wings are not even/asymmetrical. (I also bought a Cushie… Read more
Tushie Couture that is just as bad!)
Avoid like the plague! Apparently one size fits all. Leaks, poor fit on my baby, poorly sewn.
Good – Simple and easy to use, exactly what I was looking for with a MCN. Have been using mine for over 16 months and only had a few leaking issues as we have a heavy wetter. I had to convince my other half to try MCNs and now even he convinces other fathers to be that they are easy. I dont find im doing loads of extra washing either and the only… Read more
'qualilty' issues I have come across are with normal wear and tear. I have also not had any problems fitting clothes over the nappies. Over all I love my Cushie Tushies. The Basix is a great workhorse nappy - I mainly have the old design (all polar fleese) and a few of the new minky designs. Have been able to use the nappy from the newborn size with no trouble and didnt take long to get the hang of snapping it correctly. Love the fact the the boosters are snap in and you dont have to stuff you hand down the nappy as with pocket nappies. Drying time is the main concern, but has not deterred me from using this product - I have clothes that take just as long to dry!
Terrible – We bought these because they looked and felt really nice. The fabric pilled after 3 washes an they now look like cheap flannel. They were supposed to fit from 6 pound newborn to toilet training. My girl was 8 pounds at birth and the nappies didn't come close to fitting until she was 3 months old. These nappies look really nice on the shelf,… Read more
never used or washed, and that's about all they're good for. Gave them 1 star because there's not a zero star option. They look nice & the sales rep convinced us they were easy to use. They leak. Every single time you use them. They don't fit properly and they're really bulky. The cotton half of the absorbency liner shrunk, the polyester half did not, so you have to stretch it back into shape as you hang it on the line.
Good – A great MCN. I have tried other brands, but I found that Cushie Tushies fit my daughter best. The one size fits all system means that I haven't had to buy new sizes as she's grown. I have saved heaps of cash and once I got used to the routine of washing them, it was no more trouble than buying nappies at the shops and then taking out a huge… Read more
wheelie bin full of stinkers.
Not sure why people have had so much trouble with them... I suppose that I persisted because once I paid for them, I was determined to make them work for my money... Cheaper than the Cushie Tushie couture, but performs just as well. Cute simple colours are easy to match with my daughter's clothes. Each time I wash one, it feels great knowing that's one less nappy in the bin...
The one size fits all seems to work (so long as you can master the 'fold down' for newborns) They leaked at first, which drove me mad - after a few washes and getting used to putting them on right, they are all good.
Need an extra booster if you want to use overnight.
They need to be dried in the sun (so they don't smell) which is frustrating in winter cause it takes ages.

Know better, choose better.
OK – I have used these from birth. They are fairly absorbent if you use the big booster (they come with two boosters - I found the small one alone wasn't enough). Drying time is okay - not the best or the worst. The boosters have to be stretched after washing and they do twist up a little. The nappies come out nice and soft after a line or air dry. … Read more
I like to use these as a night nappy because they are easy to get on when my son is very sleepy before his big sleep.
These are bulkier than the Cushie Tushie Couture nappy, but I feel happier washing these heaps because the polar fleece looks cheap and worn pretty much from the start (whereas the couture are beautiful so I don't want to wash them as much). Good basic nappy which performs fairly well. Almost never leaks even overnight. Good range of nice colours. The outer is polar fleece which looks a bit cheap. The Coutures are much nicer looking and less bulky, and other brand I have look nicer too. Quality of snaps, fabric and sewing isn't great.
Excellent – I have been nothing but very happy with my Cushie Tushies. I use the Coutures and Basix and have not had any leaks (after the initial 5 or so washes). My child is a very heavy wetter and can last four hours in Couture, three in a Basix. Have found no problems with quality of product. Do need to stretch boosters as you put them on line but i have to… Read more
do this with other brands i have tried as well. I have not found them overly bulky, especially the Basix and have no trouble fitting clothes. Have recommended to many friends who have all been more then happy also. Customer service is the best i have experienced and more then happy to answer any questions or help with problems you may be experiencing. Great colours, AIO, fits newborn to 3 years, good price
OK – I think the idea is good- one size fits all, but can be tricky for skinny baby, but works pretty good on my daughter who has quite chubby legs and is now 10 months (started using cloth when she was 9 months). Leaks at first but generally fine for 1-2 hours, not as good as it should be for the price. I tend to boost it with other bamboo boosters… Read more
which seems to do the trick and cud last 2-3 hours. nice fabric, soft and looks trendy.
leaks at first but then after sometimes, no leaks anymore. Quite Bulky, badly fitting, leaks at first but now haven't had any leak yet after 10+ washes ( I think)
Terrible – I would not recommend cushie tushie nappies - they are expensive for what they are, and they are quite bulky. They need to be changed more than other nappies supposed to be a one size fits most - great for those on a budget and want to buy one lot of nappies to last through to toilet training. bad fit - not as good quality as they were in the past - they seem to leak a lot on our son.
