Dell XPS 8300

Good value device. Noisy fan. Recommended. 7/10 – Having owned a Dell Vostro 460 for about 4 years and having had good service from that unit I decided that an update was required. The XPS 8300 shaped up as very good value and the service I had from my old Vostro persuaded me to go with another Dell. Delivery time was very good and packaging was adequate. Decided to install a new SSD in the system and had a few issues regarding verification of Windows 10 and Dell service offered some assistance but issue seemed to resolve itself over time. Unit was delivered as i7, 16 GB ram, Geforce G GB Vid card. There is plenty of scope for changes or upgrades to system with various empty expansion slots and mostly with easy installation. There is an issue with cooling fan noise which is significant but only occurs intermittently and is a little disconcerting. Device performs very well, fast, though start up times are slightly longer than old Vostro which I suspect might be to do with configuration and maybe some tweaks will change that anomaly. Overall, apart from the noisy fan, it's a very good unit and provided it continues to perform as well as my trusty old Vostro, I'll be well satisfied. If it was a quiet as the old Vostro I would have given 5 stars.
Desktop PC i7 – Great desktop enough power to allow for most intensive software, great for video editing, music, design and even the occasional game. Dells are pretty much the only brand left putting out decent high-end machines for fairly good value without needing to build a system on a budget it's a very good option.
First class product – I bought this in 2011 and has worked perfectly ever since. I don't have much to say other than there have been no problems with it whatsoever. Then in mid 2014, I upgraded my father's old computer as well - and that too is working perfectly. I have no hesitation buying this product.
Power Plus – Ordered this PC through Dell website with quite a few customizations. Less than 2 weeks from time of order to receiving it at home. The computer itself is power packed... i7 processor, 8GIG RAM, 1GB video card and a 24" LED LCD monitor. So far it's been awesome. One slight problem with the TV card but Dell have been very responsive in sorting it out. Powerful, Fast, Quiet.
