Overall: This is a great product but I struggled with the price, waste and availability of the Nespresso capsules. The capsules can only be purchased online or from a couple of stores. I purchased Coffeeduck reusable capsules and for an extra 30 seconds of preparation time you can use your own coffee and stop consigning aluminium capsules to the bin. Coffee is great using either method.

Pros: So easy to keep clean - so easy to operate - looks good too
Overall: Just love the ease of making excellent quality coffee every time! We love entertaining, and we love our quiet Sunday breakfast/brunch. The Delonghi gives these occasions an extra dimension. It's also so easy to clean and maintain and ordering new pods online is efficient, reasonably priced and easy to do. I wouldn't hesitate recommending the Delonghi - a great acquisition to any kitchen.

Cons: The only thing I find wrong is that it is a little noisy for about 2 seconds, and we are drinking more coffee than we used to!
Overall: This machine is so loved in our house. Easy to use, easy to clean. you can get refillable capsules if you look around. the milk frother is great and also easy to use and to clean. Normal coffee cups dont fit, but we just tilt ours. the stop start button is great, it allows you to make your coffee to your own taste/strength.

Pros: Nice tasting coffee, convenient for only making one cup of coffee, easy to use.
Cons: Expensive to buy and expensive to run (in comparison to other coffee machines)
Overall: I drink one to two cups of coffee a day and so purchased this machine as it makes just one cup at a time, instead of a pot or a large plunger of coffee. I brought it to work as it is cheaper than buying my 1-2 cups from a cafe each day.
It is a relatively expensive machine (I had been swayed to buy this one by a friend who recommended it) and the pods are expensive in comparison to other machines/options, but the coffee is nice and it is nice to be able to make just one cup at a time.
It is quite noisy though and a bit of a pain to clean. If I had over I probably would buy a cheaper one (the Aldi version gets good reviews) as its still expensive to run and annoying that I can only purchase my pods online or through select stores.

Cons: Pods are a bit expensive but I refill them with great success
Overall: Never had a bad cup. Once you know the right milk / pod ratio for your taste it is fool proof.
Don't be afraid to refill the pods with your own blends. Works out to be about 6c per pod. Before you puncture the pod mark it and line it up with a mark you have made in the machine itself .....vwallah!!!
This machine is much more compact than the others in the range and much more retro as well

The coffee should be hot - are you letting it heat up? I mean after you turn the power on the green light has to stop flashing before you press it for a coffee. It also helps to start your milk first and then your coffee next so it is as hot as it can be. Hope this helps.
Being a Barrista - the coffee comes out just right -too hot you will
burn the beans and wont get the lovely creamer. What I do is have the
cup very hot ( I actually microwave it - then the coffee does not cool
as quick.) They do say to heat the cup before pouring a coffee.
My coffee is always hot and if I dont want to use the aerochino frother I just microwave the milk til it froths (1 min)and then crack the pod! Think I will have one now
How do you make the coffee to put into the pods which means the pods now cost 6c each?
The cost of replacement pods are very expensive. Is there any way of getting around this cost?

I reuse my pods about 5-6 times by refilling them with my favourite decaf blend and this works out to be around 6c each depending on the cost of your coffee. It is important to mark your machine inside where you place the pod and then mark your pod so that the holes made by the handle device line up. Go to You tube and inquire "refilling pods" I found that it was really important to mark the pod because if you don't the puncture holes become too big and let too much of the grind through. You can also purchase refillable pods but this way works out cheaper. In fact I've just gone and refilled a pod now and had a coffee.
Hi there,
Just reading your review on the Essenza coffee machine, and see yours came with a Milk Frother. Just wondering where you bought it from to get the Milk frother with it?
