DéLonghi Coffee Machines
4.2 from 93 reviews
Pros: Great coffee, and every time as long as you can find the capsules you like for flavour and intensity. The coffee we make is usually far better that what we can buy in many so called "coffee shops".
Cons: Slow to make latte and the cappuccino frother whips the milk too much. Milk burns on a spot in the frother, and you need to clean it off every few cups to avoid major cleaning issues.
Overall: Love the capability to provide flavour and repeatability. We take ours camping and is the reserve in the house when the auto machine breaks down.

For a camping arrangement we were looking to provide a stable base, and smaller footprint. Hopefully we were taking less electronics that could be killed by vibrations. That has worked for us so far.

Pros: nice coffee, looks nice, easy to use. Clean (no coffee grounds everywhere)
Cons: Expensive, have to fight a bit if something goes wrong with customer service.
Overall: i have the CitiznMilk Brought this because my sister has one and saw how easy it was to clean and maintain.

Positives of this machine are:

1. Being a latte lover I am quite fond of this machine, love how easy it is to use and make nice coffee. Has a nice selection of capsule blends to choose from.

2. Coffee tastes pretty good. I dont have the bitter taste in my coffe some people talk about with the capsules (including expresso's).

3. Looks nice on my kitchen bench, not cumbersome or massive.

Some negatives with the machine are:

1. A small point but you get two milk whisks with the machine. The thinner one I use all the time because the fatter one makes a ridiculous amount of froth. I am talking more than 3/4 of your latte will be froth and you end up with froth all over your nose just trying to get to the 1/4 of the coffee in the bottom of the cup. So in my opinion it's pretty useless.

2.I appreciate that this machine is so easy to clean but in saying that we are also having the same problem with the milk frother's milk burning in the same spot and not heating the milk enough and the red light flashing prematurely. I rang the nespresso customer service and they told me how to clean it properly with a plastic scourer (um, yeah thanks i know how to clean teflon). I rang them again spoke to somebody more helpful and they sent me out a new one with new instructions on how to clean (roll eyes), so obviously they stand film on not beleiving people who say they clean their frothers after each use.
Unfortunately after the first use with the new frother it was burning again in the same spot! So obviously something wrong with the thermostat. I rang them again and they then said to run 5 cycles of water through the milk frother which i did to reset the thermostat. It now seems to be working better, milk hot and frothy. So we shall see how we go and if it starts to happen again but so far so good.

3. Customer service is ok. Depends on who you talk to at the other end as they all tell you different things. Some are more helpful than others.

4. The capsules are pretty expensive and not that easy to access unless you buy on line or live in the city. I have one a day max and the rest instant macconna to keep the costs down.

So all in all, not bad machine, had no problems with the machine itself, only the milk frother. If i had my time again I would have brought an Aldi Machine which i brought for my father in law and is much the same. Coffee is on par with this one and also way cheaper also if it breaks down they will just replace unlike this one.

Pros: Easy to use
Cons: For my taste undrinkable, And causes stomach upset.
Overall: I was very keen on this product. Until I received one as a present for my birthday. What a disappointment! Having read all the instructions and experimented with the samples provided we could not make a coffee that was not bitter. One hundred dollars worth of more coffee in the form of a club offer and still no coffee that was not bitter. Into the Nespresso store and an expert making us a range of coffee. All bitter, it must be us. However discussing Nespresso with other owners and surprise surprise they too have bitter coffer to the point that they are using other manufacturers coffee or drowning their coffee in milk, sugar or water to lessen the bitterness. Another worrying issue arose several users were complaining of upset stomach after drinking Nespresso coffee.
I still like the concept however the coffee is totally unsatisfactory and the search continues for a satisfying drink.

Is the problem a cultural issue? I do not know

Pros: Everything on this machine is easy to do.
Cons: Have to rinse out the milk frother if you are wanting to make more than say 2 coffees.
Overall: We bought this Citiz Serious with the milk frother and absolutely love it. Coffee tastes fantastic. So easy to make, easy to clean, easy to adjust the settings. So many different selections of the coffee flavours. When we bought it Nespresso had a $50 cash back offer too, which we obviously made use of.
Makes beautifully hot coffee in an instant. Best purchase we've made in a long time.

Pros: Coffee is yummy and fast.
Cons: Frother is badly designed, hot spot that milk sticks to and eventually it stops heating the milk. Lousy!
Overall: Great product the coffee is lovely and fast to make but as with everyone else problems with frother burnt spot from very early on. Nespresso says its my fault for not cleaning properly which is in my opinion wrong...I am considering ditching nespresso and going back to stove top espresso because of their failure to accept the frother problem.

Pros: Clean, fast and makes a great coffee
Cons: A little expensive i guess but worth it.
Overall: I previously had a top end Delonghi coffee machine which drove my up the wall. I switched to the nespresso because i liked the cleanliness and freshness of having the coffee in the capsules. I absolutely love this machine (i have three) my only criticism is that we've gone through three milk frothers. The milk seems to stick to the bottom and burn in after a while. Whilst most of the time you can clean up the brown marks, eventually they do get to a stage where the marks are impossible to clean away. It's only cosmetic but enough to get me to buy a new frother every 6 months or so. But I use it multiple times a day and have absolutely worked it to the bone.
