You know in your heart where garbage belongs – The TV I think this was a crock of [Content Removed] from the get-go. As with another model I encountered, from a supposedly reputable German brand, and advertised as 'HD' and/or 'DTV ready', it was/is in fact no such thing. I'm mystified why people report seeing a picture briefly, then sound only. Just lucky I guess. The example I've seen never displays any picture for HD channels. It never will.
The remote Nor can we use the menu functionality in the absence of the remote control. There seems no method of navigating menus without it.
The user guide There appears to be none online. Don't waste your time looking.
The solution To all issues with this model mentioned on this site: Do what you ought to have done the day you bought or otherwise acquired it: chuck it in the garbage, where it belongs.
