Refund please – On the side of the box it says anti skip, funny because that is just about the only thing this does - skip, because it barely plays any dvds. I found brand new dvd's skipped, the picture constantly broke up, and finally it refused to play them (don't even bother with the used dvd's). Rang the local shop and at their recommendation, bought a laser cleaner and low and behold, got two dvd's in a row that actually played. Third dvd and the player went back to its old habits. It's a very cheap-looking machine, needs the remote to rewind and fast forward, battery got jammed halfway in the remote (luckily it still worked). Does not do what it is supposed to - play dvds!
Skips, picture breaks up - barely ever plays dvds!
Great for the Kids – I have a son (now 10 yrs) and, as we live in rural area, we have long trips so a dvd player is essential to keep my son occupied. I have previously bought 2 Panasonic. I would definitely recommend the Dick Smith player over the Panasonic at 1/3 of the cost. None of the previous players lasted much more than 1 year. Panasonic warranties are deceptive - I had to pay $80 for a plastic cover to repair a $5 spring. We have had this Dick Smith player a year and has worked fine. Plays multi region. Screen size is a bit smaller than the Panasonic but price more than makes up for it. Comes with AC and car chargers. Lasts about 2 hours on battery which is about the same as the Panasonic. I also paid $20 for extra 2 years replacement warranty. Good price, so far very reliable Screen a bit small 7", nowhere to store remote control

Totally agree!!! Bought my dvd 2 weeks ago and have managed to watch one DVD out 20+ different ones - Pathetic machine...worst DVD player on the market and I even purchased the 2 year warranty - what a joke...didn't even go 2 weeks! I'll be taking it back tomorrow and strongly advise others to buy a cheaper model in Kmart that last approx 2 years (rough handling by youngsters)
