I notice when I change the protector it has become a bit crumbly, however it does not effect the comfort.
They are long lasting, they have breathable holes throughout, and they come in many shapes and sizes to suit. I think it's worth the money.

Care Instructions for pillow:
- Hand wash gently in warm water (max 40 degrees) using mild detergent

- Do not dry clean or tumble dry
- Frequent washing may reduce the useful life of this product
