Pros: Reliable, parts don't break (ie: door/hinges/casing) reasonably quiet for a front loader, just love it.
Overall: Machine has been so reliable and a fantastic little workhorse for 8 years. Had a very bad experience with another expensive top of the market brand that was at one stage replaced by the manufacturer with a new one which was still just as unreliable, it was very noisy, the components frequently broke (ie: three doors & door casings/hinges in 6 years, internal components broke/wore) it was just a lemon. I was just lucky the parts were so readily available, almost got to know the repairs dept on first name basis! This one is just starting to play up a little, it is not washing as thoroughly and spinning as fast but goodness me, it has cost me nothing since I purchased it. Thank you Electrolux, I do hope you can repair whatever is slowing down, as I have a little gem in this machine.

Pros: Good machine and good wash although a longer than normal wash
Cons: Barely lasts thru warranty period and they blame the detergent instead of fixing the problem
Overall: Yes, I had the. Same experience being told that I was using too much detergent! But I was using a front loader detergent recommended by Electrolux and if anything I was using slightly less than the recommended dose as my clothes are never really 'dirty'. I got the impression that they were just blaming the detergent and me instead of really saying what the problem was. I would definitely buy a front loader again BUT not an Electrolux!

Pros: Very clean clothes, easy to use.
Cons: Don't expect it to last, not feasable to repair, expensive throw away washer.
Overall: I bought mine in 2005 and absolutely loved it. After being raised on top loaders I was amazed at how well it washed my clothes. Now here is where is gets ugly.

I had an error 90 code pop up in the 2nd year, they came and fixed it no charge, told me I was using too much powder. Did as they said and continued to enjoy this machine. Two weeks ago it was getting very loud on spin cycle and I thought it was an unbalanced load. Well last week while on spin cycle it made a loud bang and started jumping around the floor. Something was definitely wrong....Have I called a tech to come look at it? No. All I had to do was look on youtube of the thousands of videos of front loaders doing exactly the same thing mine was.

Countless blogs and stories of people buying these machines that only lasted 2 years...I was lucky. You see the manufacturers like to blame you and say your detergent did this...No its a design flaw that they refuse to fix and keep making them to bring in the bucks from consumers like us.

It uses less this and less that but after a few years it will cost you $600 to repair the whole drum and tub. The aluminum spider arms that hold the bearing rod and essentially the whole stainless steel bit to the tub fails. Cause its made out of Aluminum and is bolted to a stainless steel tub, it causes the arms to corrode and break under wet conditions. They will tell you the detergent does it, but what about the hundreds who used HE liquid detergent???. What about metal workers who have said the two metals are incompatible?

When it happens you have to replace the whole tub. They will not sell you just the spider arms and would you spend all of this money knowing it will only happen again? Its not worth it and you might as well turn it on its back and put a pot plant in it.

Give me lint, Bad whites and extra water usage any day. Give me a top loader. (its easier and cheaper to replace a gearbox or timer then a whole blasted tub unit!

Pros: Washes the clothes really well, I can machine wash delicates and my woollens : )
Cons: Mould build up on inside seal
Overall: This has been a fantastic washing machine for our family. It is economical, good wash cycles to choose between, no need for a dryer as the clothes are nearly dry after the 1200 spin cycle.
I haven't needed to have it repaired since we bought it 8 years ago!

My only negatives are that it has had a mould build up inside the rubber seal (I have washed this clean but the stains remain) and the shortest cycle is 54 minutes.

Overall, I would highly recommend this machine.

Pros: Now 6 years old. Easy to use with plenty of options from quick / eco wash to time delay and night washing (pauses before spin cycle until you wake up and resume the cycle). Quiet whilst in full spin and has survived 5 house moves. Washes everything from dog blankets to QS electric blankets, woolens, delicates and everything reliably clean. Excellent customer care.

While it was broken i borrowed a friend's toploader and it shredded my husbands jumper (which has been washed umpteen times in my 1280F).
Cons: I loved it until it died on me this morning. Looking at reviews i seem to be lucky it lasted this long. Do i stick with expensive brand or switch...
Overall: Very happy with this one. Pity they have discontinued it to be honest. Yep i think i have convinced myself to buy another one.

Pros: 1200 rpm spin circle. delayed start. easy to use.
Cons: That it broke down & couldnt be repaired or replaced with same model.
Overall: Bought this machine in 2004.Very pleased with the machine until the circuit board went & could not be fixed. After 6months of trying to get it repaired under warranty, Electolux replaced it with the newer model...not happy with replacement at all. Loved the 1200 rpm spin on this machine. new machine has slower 1000 rpm Would buy this model again but not EWF1087 model the company replace my EW 1280F model with.
