Cons: Couldn't really think of anything. On the expensive side considering that it is just a bin. Depends how much you like gadgets
Overall: As this is a bin it is quite expensive. Depends if you are really concerned with the hygeine. We used to just have a nice looking stainless steel been with a foot petal. My hubby bought this as he thought that the sensor was pretty cool. We've only had it for 2 months and so far we have not had any problems with it. It is a pretty good sized bin for our needs.
Pros: It looks fantastic! It's huge! No more touching the lid!
Cons: can be a little sensitive when walking passed it and lid will open an scare the jeepers out of ya!
Overall: We love this new 42L S/S sensor bn as it not only looks fantastic, it actually does what it is meant to do. There are no messy food/finger marks on the bin anymore and you can have your hands full and just up pops the lid...wow...greatest idea ever! I have heard the the clips on lid have been a problem in the past but apparantly this is the new (re-vised) edition so hopefully ours will be all good. It takes 4 x 'D' size batteries which cost $16-18 dollars so i hope they last us well...so far so good!
Overall: I really love this bin, or should i say "loved" since it went into the big bin! It's a fantastic concept, and i love it - and i don't care how cheap and nasty the bin is, but at least they could get smart and make it with a stronger metal of come sort hinge!!! they are small but the only reason they break down! So, they can make the whole thing in plastic, but if only they made the hinges stronger - and because of this, i won't buy another one until they improve them. SUCH a simple thing that ruins the whole thing!!! Check the hinges - if they are plastic - don't waste your time - it WILL break down! they can't be replaced cos they're attached to the unit!
Pros: Very innovative and creative. Good that the person would not be touching the bin for hygienic reasons.
Cons: Will be prone to malfunctions and break downs.
Overall: These do not come cheap and I think they are just a waste of money. I mean, a bin is a bin.. why do you need it to be a "smart" bin? A good stainless steel bin with a foot pedal you can step on and open the bin is good enough since it works the same way. You won't have to touch the bin with your hands to open it. And those will definitely save more of your penny!
Cons: Don't sell replacement parts so when lid fails (ours...twice in a little over a year...we had one sensor stopped working and one with broken hinge) you have to buy whole new bin. I refuse to buy a third complete bin for my kitchen!
Overall: You need to have a space for bin where you will not make the bin constantly open as you walk past within 45cm and the lid is a bit of a cheaply made novelty item. Replacement parts availability would make this a much better product. Not recommended for families kids. Childless household might get more life from the product.
Pros: I love that I can have my hands full and I can still open the bin. So hygienic and practical.
Cons: Visiting children are fascinated and stand at the bin for ages opening and closing. (That could also be a pro). You do need the room for it though.
Overall: I would recommend it for every kitchen. Once you get your personal style for opening, it's a breeze. Couldn't be without it.
With it's modern stainless steel appeal and the convenience of automatic opening and closing, this intelligent rubbish bin is a must for every kitchen. A simple wave of your hand, or whatever you have free, at the sensor on the top of the bin and you have a convenient, germ free, open disposal unit that you need never touch again. Great appliance for anyone with a disability as there is no pedals or buttons to operate. Now with the extra benefit of a DC adaptor the cost of replacing batteries is greatly reduced.
