Energizer Rechargeable Batteries

ABSOLUTELY RUBBISH – Purchased the rechargeable AA's for small battery operated fairy lights. ABSOLUTELY rubbish, they don't even last 24hrs, in fact, they started to dim after 3 hrs. So so disappointed. The home brand cheaper ones lasted 4 times longer. An absolute RIP OFF & false advertising, shame on you ENERGIZER Show details
After a full charge overnight the aa batteries dim within a minute and are virtually flat within 10 minutes – Useless. Charge all night and get 10 minutes use in a simple display case.for $36 i could have bought a years worth of batteries that would last days each. I have 4 aaa duracell rechargeable that work in my torch for weeks. Theres a huge difference in quality. energizer are junk Show details

The best ever lasting batteries – On Friday 19th February 2016 I bought an Energizer Rechargeable AA Batteries 4 Pack for $21.99 from Officeworks Nunawading so I can use them in my Hisense TV Remote because they hold up to 1000 chargers so I would recommend buying these batteries since they last a very long time. The staff were kind to me and the service was excellent.
Great value – I purchased the rechargeable batteries and battery charger from Woolworths ($30), it included 4x AA batteries. AAA batteries are available to be purchased (as are more AA) and can also be charged in the pack. The pack is red when batteries are low and changes to a green glow when fully charged. Takes approx 4-6 hours for a full charge. Great value and would highly recommend.
Great allrounders – I have been using the rechargeable Energizers for a good number of years now. My use for them are general purpose around the home and for work. My work is mostly away from home, the batteries are used regularly in LED torches, two ways, headlamps etc.. I've never had the problems with the Energizers described by other reviewers, but then my… Read more · 1
use for them is not with high end electronic devices. However, I do use them in my Garmin GPS62 and they perform without fuss, they will not give the long life performance of a high end disposable AA's, though I have the added option to charge the GPS and my handheld two way with the batteries in them from my cars 12 volt outlet.
One thing the Energizers need is a decent charger.
The plug in wall packs that come with 4 batteries you see at the supermarkets really don't charge them to their full potential, they're ok for when I'm working away to juice them up to fight another day.
The wall pack takes around 6-8hrs for 4 AA's to charge from flat, I then unplug it from the wall and put it back in to get another 2 hrs charging!
It's best to get a decent charger from the electronics shops...well worth it.
Summing up...for around the home, work, caravan, and even your bicycle lights... they're great! Alternative to disposables, Last for years, Pay for themselves over & over again Need a decent charger to get full potential. Do not lend them to mates... they never return!

Stick to throwaways – I have bought dozens of these things, None have had more than a few recharges without failing. The latest pack is refusing it's first recharge. Overpriced and unreliable. Buy throwaways. Show details
Energizer Recharge batteries are junk – After twenty charges, they start to fail. I will never buy those batteries ever again. I purchased Empire Scientific batteries and they last a long time.
re-chargeable ENERGIZER batteries are a DEAD WASTE of time and money too – How can I request a (ZERO) Nill, Zilch, or better still a more suitable NEGATIVE rating review ?? Subject: Product Complaint - AA and AAA Batteries and Re-charger (28 Batteries total) not holding a charge and 1 x Energizer CH1HR battery charger [Incident: 180528-000033] I have 18 AA and 10 AAA dead as a door-nail ENERGIZER rechargeable… Read more
batteries and the battery charger where they 'live' fails to keep them charged, so they offer me a lousy 1 x time only offer of au$5.oo (yes, five dollars) for 28 dead ENERGIZER batteries and the battery charger.
I have been in 'communication' with various people there at ENERGIZER and they now inform me their ENERGIZER RE-CHARGEABLE BATTERIES only have a 5 (five) year life span anyway.
I advised them I was not interested in their conditional $5 payment for the 28 DEAD ENERGIZER BATTERIES and the CHARGER.
I advised the guy who was most recently 'helping' me, that I could not sign their waiver to accept the lousy $5.
The 10 small 850 mAh AAA batteries are made in China for Energizer Holdings.
The 14 larger 2500 mAh AA Batteries are made in Japan for Energizer Holdings.
The CHARGER is also made in China.
The batteries have been bought over a period of time, as they would not recharge they were replaced and I don’t have the invoice or receipt that they now say they require who would keep a receipt of a battery charger or packet of batteries bought from Coles or Woolies with the groceries etc. ?

What a dead-set joke, I have received 14 emails (well 14 that I have saved) from ENERGIZER and each time they ask for something different when I comply with their previous demand for proof of existence.
I was getting so sick and tired of being treated like a child that I requested their POSTAL address so I could post to them, at MY expense ALL the 28 FAULTY ENERGIZER batteries and the FAULTY battery charger - but they refused.
So I warn you now. if you need to use RECHARGEABLE BATTERIES, then look into the situation and don't risk your LIFE and/or equipment failing simply because the 'contact' @ head office has been informed NEVER, EVER accept responsibility for the failure of an ENERGIZER Battery Charger.
I need re-chargeable batteries, as I live on the road for many months of the year and can't spend my time there replying to a huge Multi-National Company like ENERGIZER who changes THEIR own mind every time I meet THEIR demand for THEIR own information.

Great value for money – I'm surprised by the number of negative reviews of these batteries. I've used various version of Energizer Rechargeable Batteries for the last 20 years. I sold them as the go-to battery for digital cameras, out lasting on a single charge disposable batteries and only beaten by lithium-ion AA style batteries at a similar price but not… Read more
rechargeable. I personally have close to three dozen AAA\AA batteries and have not had a problem with them. I use them in LED torches, remotes, cordless keyboards and mice as well as in toys. Sure, being a couple of years older now they do not last as long as a brand new disposable battery, but I can't think of how much money I've saved nor landfill saved.
Safety fire & acid risk – I'm an electrician with a passion for the health of our children's future environment. I recharge at least 5-6 times a month my various sets of rechargeables. I purchased the Energiser 4 pk rechargeable batteries with charger for the price of 4 rechargeables, several years ago. In the last year I saw the Energizer EcoAdvanced, (made with 4%… Read more
recycled batteries). Sounds good for the environment so I purchased a large pack. As far as using both battery types I had no problems until December 2017 when I charged 4 of the batteries in my charger, not realising I inadvertently put 2 of the NON-rechargeable Eco-advanced batteries (silver coloured with black writing and a bit of green on them) alongside the rechargeable batteries (silver coloured with black writing and a bit of green on them). They look 90% similar and so easily mistaken, but I copped that one on the chin while I saw a nice slimy mass dripping out of my charger. I double checked the batteries and realised my mistake and feeling lucky that I didn't have a fire or explosion although my desk has a permanent acid burn mark on it.
I repurchased the same Energiser re-charger with bonus batteries. Silly me.
Full forward to May2018. This morning I put my batteries in the charger. I heard a low hissing sound a few hours later, I've done it again !!! 2 of the Eco-advanced alongside the rechargeables.
Now I'm upset. I'm so lucky that my 2 year old didn't have access to a acid leaking battery that could of exploded in his face if he got curious about the shiny battery with the hissing sound coming out of it.
I cannot understand why energiser has to be so stupid as to colour their different batteries so much alike. Is it a marketing ploy to make people damage their chargers and to buy more of their product.
It's a Duracell future for me now, their rechargeable batteries have a distinctive green swirl covering about 25% under the copper top area. Whereas the normal copper-top alkaline has NO green on them.
Bad batteries – Every rechargeable pack I purchased had bad batteries. This is the second one I have had to return in 2 weeks. I contacted customer service after spending 20 minutes listening to the pre-recorded messages that did not pertain to me very frustrating in trying to contact customer service live. Once I got to customer service about a half an hour… Read more

I don't even know if my problem got resolved very frustrating. I will never do business with Energizer again.
Loses alot of power from just being on stand-by. Stay clear from this – The batteries being promoted as long-lasting batteries is a hit but a miss within its capability of performance. Alkaline batteries that are non-rechargeable seems to work way better than these when being used by a torchlight. Energizer batteries take approximately 12 hours to fully charge as i have had this problem with 2 chargers as i wanted to… Read more
give them a second chance as i am now reliant on using substantial power that can differently differ from the non-rechargeable ones. Would not recommend this brand unless they provide is true testament to their energizer batteries capabilities.
Recharge claims of a 1000 charges? – I have given up trying to justify the claims of up to a1000 recharges on these type of batteries, I dont know even if the recharge unit last the time ? I thinks a claim of up t o a 1000 times this would make the AAA&AA batteries last on average 2 charges a week thats a 104 charges a year ÷ into a 1000 = 9.5 years? I recon i get 1 year of life before they are all but useless.

Rechargeable but lose power eventually – Quality is ok and they work best for my expensive devises where I want to be sure batteries last and do not damage internals. Had some for many years without problems. There seems to be a slow decline of charging ability with age, but so far they have performed reliably, even after years of usage.
Energizer batteries...really gone downhill – I have stopped buying any Energizer batteries because the last five purchases I have made from different stores, they have all run out of charge so quickly. I am now buying Duracell and find then much better. Many people I know have had the exact same problem with Energizer. I now rate them on par with Eveready. Energizer charge a very high price and you expect a quality product... consumers are not going to put up with this.
Pathetic Absolute Waste of Money, Worst Rechargable Batteries I've Ever Had – I've had these batteries for 2 months and they certainly don't last 6x Longer that standard Alkalines as stated on the packet. They self discharge when not being used and last around 20% of the time I would expect when they are used. I am only using them in a wireless mouse with minimal current drain. They last around 2 days in that and can go… Read more
flat overnight with the mouse just sitting idle not drawing power. They are already showing signs of degrading performance over just 2 months.
Incredibly poor value and performance. Don't waste your money!
These are the Energizer recharge extreme batteries.
better off with regular batteries – Had then for less than six months. 1. They loose their charge unless you use them almost immediately and don't last long when you do. 2. Several of them have leaked ruining the battery charger and my son's favorite toy I used to think Everest were a decent brand but this is junk. I have tossed the lot rather than ruin more stuff.
Never again – I bought these to use in my Camera, at first they were quite good, but after less than a years use, they didn't hold their charge for more than maybe 8 to 10 hours at the most, i was very disappointed one day when i went hiking, tried to take some pics and it did nothing, i changed the batteries and it was the same with them, DEAD, when i got home… Read more
i threw them away, i emailed Energizer and told them what happened and how disappointed i was in their batteries, and, that i would never buy them again. As one user has already said here, if you don't use them immediately after you charge them you wont get any value out of them.
Energizer Rechargeable Batteries And The Extreme Danger To The General Public – Letter sent to consumer affairs, re product safety...Public awareness is important. almost identical. An elderly person, with not so perfect eyesight, or a disabled person, or anyone who may pick up this product could potentially be dicing with disfigurement or possible death, if the wrong battery is inserted in the charger by mistake. A friend of mine has poor eyesight and accidentally mistook the non rechargeable for the rechargeable, both silver, both with green , one has a tinge of light blue, hard to see if your eyesight is not the best, the battery overheated and white powder started to discharge and leak, luckily she was able to switch of the power before something much worse may have happened.
This could easily happen to anybody, as they look almost identical. The older style had much more green striping and the word rechargeable was quite pronounced. This new style looks almost identical to their new advanced series made from recyclable materials..
In my view, the word recharge is now in much smaller lettering & at a distance it's about the same length as the word advance. & could easily be mistaken, whereas if the word recharge, was reworded (as in the earlier model batteries), to rechargeable & in bold lettering so it can not be mistaken. On both batteries the word energizer look the same, same lettering on the same silver background.
I have emailed the energizer battery manufacturer, & their response was simply oh! Until we get another complaint we will just sit back & wait, oh! And that's exactly what the.."compliance & investigations officer consumer and business services attorney-general’s department" said as well, I emailed them both back & said " it's not good enough"...Also their non rechargeable batteries should have the words in bold stating..
."non-rechargeable.".Without prejudice..[name removed].. please publish this because the general public have a right to be well informed, and need to be made aware of potential catastrophic outcomes when a non rechargeable is inserted in the charger by mistake...you may well be saving somebody's life, and surely that's what this review process is all about, public safety and general awareness...the photo is of batteries i have purchased, look how alike they are, sorry i no longer have the receipts, but i purchased them from golden grove supermarket, with a green logo.
Not value for money – I bought a pack of 4 AA rechargeable Energizer batteries as my existing rechargeable 'Digitor' batteries are more than 10 years old. I found that they are not better than the 10 years old Digitor! I don't know whether Bunnings can give me a refund.
They don't hold charge – I have a variety of Energizer rechargeable 2500 & 2650mAh bought from a number of outlets. None of them hold charge can't even run a small radio for a few days! Just throughout 10 AA. Not suitable for any low drain device let alone high drain devices. Takes hours to charge using a standard charger. Don't hold charge
"throughout" is spelt "threw out"
Terrible – All Battery Companies should be liable for selling junk, false advertising and the enviromental damage to our planet of their crap products that sit in the dumps for hundreds of years and above all ripping off the whole consumer world. Forgive me if I run out of energy – I thought they were great for a while, even though my wife complained they were always flat when she picked up her camera. my camera (the exact same model as hers) and found the batteries were flat I went straight to my 'stash' and found all four were too low to power it as well.
So next I grabbed my digital multimeter and in three months, without use and without short-circuit, they'd all dropped to between 0.93V and 0.98V. (I'm a technician so it's a good multimeter)
I was incredulous!
I might try another brand but never Energizer again!!! Sounds like a great ecological option to reduce landfill etc Basically the self-discharge rate is beyond believable!
Don't buy them. Discharge rate is shocking! – I can't believe how bad these batteries are. They discharge quickly as soon as you unplug them from the charger. Waste of money – I purchased 10 x Energizer Rechrgeabke 4 Packs = (40) AA Ultra High Power Batteries, firstly they are not charged when you buy them, and they can take up to 24 hours to charge, then when the lights on the charger go out to say they are fully charged, they in fact only have 50% charge in each battery, according to a Battery Checker that I had to… Read more

No comeback, No warranty, Expensive not worth buying
No warranty? Fiddle sticks. Australian consumer law says you can take them back if you can prove purchase.
OK – These batteries have served me well over the years in my digital camera. Knowing their limitations, I always have them ready just before I need to use them.
