Epson Stylus CX3700 Reviews

Epson Printers
1.9 from 7 reviews
Pros: Great quality photo prints with very vibrant colours matching the original digital photos perfectly!
Cons: Slow black and white printing and high ink consumption (prepare ahead and make sure you have spare ink cartrdges on hand)
Overall: My parents bought this printer 4 years ago on my suggestion as I worked at the computer shop that they bought it from. As long as you buy Original Epson Print Cartridges you will have a very reliable printer that prints excellent photos for many years! I've read the negative reviews on this printer and while some points are valid like slow print speed and high ink consumption, overall this printer has been very reliable and prints great photos for the price! My parents are not bothered spending a little bit extra for Genuine Epson cartridges, as the results when also using Epson Premium Glossy Photo Paper speaks for itself. I've worked with many different brands of Inkjet printers Canon, Brother, HP, Lexmark and I've found Epson to be the most reliable of the lot! P.S. I would have given this printer 5 stars had it not been for the a fore mentioned problems.

Pros: Price and capabilities.
Cons: Same as previously mentioned regarding ink but I dont know if its my ignorance or another ploy to replace full cartridges ,,,,I cant get the thing to scan when the ink warning light is flashing.
Overall: Very low if I cant use it as a scanner I will add it to earth fill, poor unloved Mother Nature!

Pros: It *can* perform its functions
Cons: Constantly having to ask where'd the ink go?
Speed: Terribly slow (even on draft mode)
Overall: Wish that it had never been bought. Spend the extra cash and get something with a bit of ink economy.

Pros: It prints and was cheap.
Cons: I hate this printer because you have to have ink in all 4 cartriges or it won't print, even if you select black & white and have the black ink cartridge full. What a joke! I wish I knew of this ploy before I bought an Epson printer. Silly of them to do though, since you can put generic catridges in it anyway so Epson aren't always profiting off the seemingly continuous act of replacing ink cartriges that seem to just evaporate.
Overall: Do yourself a favour and don't buy this printer!! Yes it's cheap, but so other the other makes these days. The problem with this one is you'll be paying hundreds of dollars on ink cartriges so in the end it wasn't a cost effective purchase.

Pros: Scanner and only the scanner
Cons: Will suck black ink like a blackhole sucks matter. Slow printing even if its only a text document. Draft setting is even worse, it hardly prints anything
Overall: It sucks up too much black ink. I refilled and even bought a new black cartridge for it and each time I installed the new cartridge it would proceed to do its head cleaning. It sucks up at least 1/4 of the total ink. The printing is also VERY slow. 10 pages of black print and it took nearly 10 minutes. This product and brand(EPSON) of printers is a joke!

Epson= ineffecient and expensive

I'd recommend HP printers over Epson any day.

My HP deskjet 840c which is a very old printer is still working fine and gives me no hassle at all. The ink in HP printers last longer and will still print even if the colored cartridge is empty, of course you have to choose black ink only in the printer setting.

Pros: The scanner works extremely well and is very flexible with different settings and recognition of different type of items being scanned, from old photo's to drivers license to prove identity, just need to adjust the settings until you find the one that works the best for you
Cons: If only one ink supply is empty, then you are unable to print at all. Not real handy saturday evening of a long weekend when its needed to print stuff out in black and white, and its only one of the color cartridges that wont work. Spoke to tech support about this issue and they pretty much told me that it was bad luck and there was no way around it at all.
Overall: Shite, will not consider buying their printers again, apart from the ink problem, after buying the printer in Australia when I installed the drivers etc I just made the assumption that the default language would be english. Silly me, that would just be common sense. After spending about 2 hours on their website when I was trying to resolve my printing issue to get the english driver that I could understand what was actually written in the windows, there were issues with the link that they provided, I then managed to run into the lack of ink problem and hit a massive brick wall
