Epson Stylus CX6900F

Shocking waste of Ink! – This Epson Stylus CX6900F came into my possession after my previous printer; brotherDCP-130C expired in 2008. Yet my ‘brotherDCP’ was by far a most economical printer in comparison, even if the reviews state otherwise? Here the Epson Ink Cartridges have even less ink, are more expensive and ‘cannot operate’ if and when one colour cartridge is empty! This occurs even if you only want to print in Black & White Ink only; it apparently has been computer chipped that way by Epson for it not to run economically, period! So much for lowering the rate of Global Warming?
Furthermore when you replace a cartridge, the system naturally has to recharge itself, which uses even more precious ink that you’ve remaining in other (colour) cartridges. Hence the cycle of waste continues! Please note; when the screen advises you have xyz number of pages left to print with the quantity of ink remaining; disregard it. As it is pure fiction!
For me, even though this Epson Stylus has out performed my brother-DCP. I still cannot abide by such wastefulness and customer exploitation!
Shocking waste of Ink
OK – For the price it's a good printer/scanner/fax - but if I knew it'd use so much ink I wouldn't have brought it. Tip - change setting to print in draft mode and in B&W only if you are not printing anything important, this will save alot of toner use. Scanner is a bit slow, but does the job. Look, easy to use Big, heavy, uses ALOT of ink to print (and the toner is not cheap)
