Epson Stylus Photo TX700W

NO Black & White Printing!!! – I tried everything. it does not have a B&W only printing option. how ridiculous is that? even if you like to print just B&W page, and one of colour ink is low. Guess what? you have to replace colour ink before you print ANY!. This is designed in Italy by this high profile designer. Well, they forgot the most basic! Do Not BUY
Epson Stylus Photo – well, this printer does do a good job however, it can be slow, doesn't print black only things and you cant scan a document if one of the ink cartridges are low. So now it's going to cost me $30 to buy a cartridge and fuel to scan. one. document.
Expensive lesson in what not to buy – While this machine gave a very good printing result, it took ages to warm up and uses an inordinate amount of very expensive ink. When the ink collecting pad is full, the machine will not function and you can't replace it. I had a serviceman out, but he couldn't help me, so I had to buy a new printer. Unfortunately, I had purchased a lot of ink… Read more
when it was on special, so I had to buy another Epson with that ink if I didn't want to waste the money I had already spent. When this one's ink pad fills I wont buy another Epson anything. Printed good photos Expensive, dear ink, used a lot of ink,has preset builtin obsolescence and no help from Epson.
Disappointing – We have had our TX700W for 3 years. Prior to purchase we researched other printers and even considered buying the multiplexer but that would have been even more of a waste of money. It does print and scan fine but consumes ink like you wouldn't believe. Just over 12 months ago we had an error message "ink pads full", to rectify this requires an… Read more
ink pad service the cost of which was $130.00. Since the service the rapacious ink consumption has continued unabated and you guessed it after 16 months we now have another "ink pads full" error message. During that time we have printed less than two reams of paper most of which is black and white text. This time it goes in the bin and I won't be buying another Epson. Scanner worked well. Ink consumption is way too high in relation to the number of pages printed, cartridges are expensive, and it is best I don't say anything about Stirling Business Machines the WA service agent and I wouldn't recommend them either.
Looking forward to throwing it against the wall – When this printer works, it works well. It looks good, and sounds good in theory. Unfortunately it has worked approximately 1 in 5 times we have needed to print something. It takes ages to warm up, usually shows some sort of error that you can sometimes skip before printing 1 page, then showing error again. Very frustrating that it will not… Read more
function at all, including scanning, unless all inks are reading above low.It does not take long until they read as low either. When replacing an ink, the printer will then run a head cleaning process that then depletes the other inks, so you still can't print because you have to buy the other inks!!!!! Have just purchased a black laser printer, cannot wait to get rid of this one. Looks good, scans well if inks are full Everything else! Ink hungry, must have all inks to work, slow, inks very expensive. Difficult to set up wifi, gets 'lost' on the network or makes several copies of itself. Drivers are dodgy.
Terrible – Worst printer ive owned ever, firstly took a long time to set up wireless capability, every time i needed to print took ages because it was always calibrating, goes through ink like an old v8 goes through the petrol, even by just printing black and white document it still goes through colour, ill never by an Epson again, dont waist your money Not much except being stylish, compact Very noisy, extremely thirst ink, ink very expensive
OK – This is a costly machine to purchase and run. I'm disappointed with it's performance, especially as I spent some time making the choice. The main reason I looked at Epson was because I'd just bought an Apple computer and was told this was the most compatible brand! Wastes a lot of paper as it doesn't do duplex copies, a feature I will be looking… Read more
for in future. Smart looking machine offering various functions. Photos are ok. Lots! Paper jams are frequent and difficult to clear. Replacing ink is costly and all cartridges must have sufficient ink for it to work. Ink is not stable on paper and runs when in contact with liquid. Noisy operation.
I hate this printer, a complete waste of money – I have owned a fair few printers and this is by far the worst. I think they advertise it falsely as it will not print black if any of the colour catridges are empty. As someone who uses mainly black and white printing this was news to me and not something stated on the description. I contacted the company after I had bought a new big black ink… Read more
and it still wouldn't print black and was told that it would only print black if I also replaced all the colours as well if they were low. To replace all the inks would be around $150 a pop, and they dry out very quickly if you don't use them. It was impossible to set up wireless properly. The scanning software is very badly designed and appends a number system onto each file eg. file_001.pdf and there is no way to turn it off. All in all I really regret buying this $250 piece of rubbish. I am going back to Canons.
expensive, doesn't print just black without colour ink, wireless is hopeless, scanning software is badly designed.
