Pros: duplex, Ethernet port
Cons: Printer, design, relability, running cost, short life span
Overall: Fax and scanner are working fine - except printer. Recently the problems started with getting a single magenta line per head movement even if I print only black and white. This is not caused by a blocked jet, it is rater a faulty print head that has one nozzle always on. currently I am having 4 magenta lines on the paper.
Apart of that, replacing the ink cartridges twice costs roughly the same as a new printer and they don't last long because of frequent cleaning cycles required to keep the printheads in good condition.
The device has a flimsy touch and feel and I would not buy it again.
Purchased at: Officeworks

Pros: Flimsy, noisy, slow, broken photo feed.
Cons: Looks nice, smallish footprint. Wifi seems to work.
Overall: I was convinced to purchase this printer because of positive reviews, inc. Choice magazine's. I regret that now. As soon as I saw it, I was concerned about the build design and quality, esp. in relation to the bits that moved eg the feed mechanisms. Then it took an email or two to Epson to get the bonus duplexer, six weeks late. It is noisy, no tparticularly fast, and seems to require cleaning frequently, esp. if you haven't used it for a while But teh worst problem is the flimsy feed mechanisms. The CD/DVD feed works sometimes, which means it ruins disks other times by printing in the wrong places (no, not a software problem). The duplexer malfunctions sometimes. But the worst is that the photo paper feed does not work at all any more. It tries to grab the paper and just grinds away. I've looked and there si nothing I can do to fix it. So I have lots of photos and lots of print paper but no way to print photos. So I have a printer that can't print photos, ansd is only fair on its other functions. No more Epsons for me. It looks nice, but it doesn't do what it should do.

Pros: print quality, claria inks
Cons: that it's an Epson (bad experiences in the past)
Overall: I was very hesitant to buy another Epson due to the experiences I've had in the past but got his one because of the Claria inks which are archival and lightfast which is exactly what I needed. I was pleasantly surprised to see that the print quality is superb on both plain and photo paper though I've found that you have to set the printer to "photo" or "best photo" to avoid faint lines appearing. The ink seems to be lasting quite a long time (which I was not expecting after reading about it's predecessor the TX800.) One thing with Epsons is that they really like Epson brand ink and so I wouldn't suggest using any third party inks. Haven't really tested the scanner yet properly. My first scan was very "noisy" and grainy but after playing around with some of the settings is got better and probably if i play around with it a bit more it will probably get to the level of my old Canon scanner. I would definitely recommend this printer, even to those who have suffered through bad Epson experiences before. But then again , maybe I just got lucky this time!
