The best investment I ever made – I bought my Fagor pressure about 6 months ago and use it most days - amazing !!!! I’m a vegan and so I eat beans a lot - I always soak my beans/lentils for a day at least and then pile in any vegetable available, onion, Garlic, water tomato’s, or tomato paste sometimes and stock herbs into my Fagor and 17 min later after it reaches pressure - dinner - the best I don’t know how I survived without it thanks Fagor - great product - Irene Show details

Parts unavailable – Fagor went tits up in Spain in 2013, the spare parts ran out in 2016. The knock-off gaskets for the duo on Amazon flat out don't work, they are the correct diameter, but are not thick or resilient enough. They blow at about 5 psi. I bought 3 from separate vendors, no resistance on the returns, they know they don't work. They bet on you not… Read more

bothering.

Good tip on the Zavor, JoeB . They look like a direct copy. Trying to source a Zavor gasket and see if it works in the Fagor. Just not ready to let my Fagor duo go, I bought a tefal PC but its rubbish in comparison.

If anyone manages to find a gasket that works, please post it here!

11 years and still working fine. Can't speak for other owners issues – I have 3 Fagor Duo PC's. Two are 8L units the other is a 4L. These units were made in Spain and of high quality finish. Over the years I have had to tighten the handle a couple of times on the big 8L units, and replaced the gaskets twice. For cookware that gets frequent use, it has served us very well. They work extremely well on induction… Read more

cooktops as well as gas, and are very versatile outside of a "pressure cooker" function. I recently note that the lid gaskets (genuine silicone ones) are no longer available, and it looks like amazon is the only place now where non-genuine spares are available. I have never had issues with the relief valve or slider, but I also put that down to routine 'proper' cleaning of the valve assemblies after each use and never leaving a dirty lid out (soak them in the sink if you really make a mess or cbf cleaning). Overall I'd still rate these units as 5 stars, except the lack of spare seal availability is now making one of them good for spaghetti or soups. I have tried other units and honestly have not been happy with the results, so keeping these units alive is currently the best option. For the curious there is a PRC made copy called "ZAVOR" which appears visually to be identical. If you are looking for spare parts, I suggest googling for seal part (number FG-998010441R for the combi 4L and 8L version). If you have the smaller diameter units, you may need to look in your owners manual to find the spare part code for the seal.

Fagor parts not available – Kitchen Warehouse advise that nobody imports any Fagor pressure cookers or parts any longer into australia. So any issues with them will go unresolved. No domestic representatives, only an industrial importer. Rated 1 star only because it can't be fixed. The cooker itself is excellent, just not serviceable. Show details

An excellent and versatile pressure cooker – I bought this pressure cooker because it has two potss with a single lid and was good value for both a 6 and 8 litre pressure cooker. I don't know why it was discontinued. After taking a little while to learn how to use it, the same pressure cooker lid works on both parts and does exactly what is advertised. It also comes with a steamer inside,… Read more

and a glass lid for storing food in the actual pot if you want to do this. The seal is easily changed if necessary, and although recommended every year, with a lot of use, the synthetic rubber seal is still very good after 2 years.

It is also very easy to clean. I would buy another one in an instant if I accidentally broke this one, but I would imagine I would only have trouble if I lost the pressure valve part, which I think is replaceable.

Fagor Splendid 4-quart, 3.8L – I’ve had the 3.8L Fagor 4-quart pressure cooker now for 15 months, purchased at Amazon. It suddenly exploded causing a terrible mess in our kitchen. Other quality issues previously noticed such as: some steam which was escaping a poor fitting gasket and discoloured spots on stainless steel which could not be cleaned.  Show details

Leaks steam and pressure for a good while before the yellow pressure buildup plug pops up! – If you manage to get the cooker lid on, then push the yellow slider switch forward, it takes a good few minutes for the pressure to build up sufficiently inside for the plug to pop up and make the seal for the pressure to build up. There is no way to make the plug pop up sooner to make the pressure buid up and all the while the "special… Read more

mechanism" is covered by the plastic handle that goes to the very middle of the lid. The result?

Sometimes the plug doesnt pop up and the pressurised steam gets wasted.

The leaking steam drips on and around the cooker and makes a mess.

Not a good design in my opinion.

Cooking while I write this – Have had my pc for about 3 years now and can't wait for winter to start using it for soups and casseroles. It has been amazing but have not had much use for the bigger pot. Also useful with the glass lid for none pc cooking. Highly recommend it to anyone looking for one

Mine drips water too! – Yes my Fagor Duo pressure cooker has been dripping water ever since I started using it. The other day, it no longer maintained pressure after 5 years and I realised the pressure valve dial (plastic part) has broken. So I have just placed an online order for the Made in Germany Silit brand.

LOVE IT! – I've used a 5 litre hawkins for the past 10 years and mainly made chicken stock. No one ever taught me how to use a pressure cooker and I was always a little frightened. Decided to buy the fagor set because it was stainless steel, had a wider base, I liked the fact that I could use the pressure lid on both a smaller and larger pot. Having an extra… Read more

glass lid means I can use the pots with or without pressure and I can keep food warm. I've had an issue with water leaking a little with my larger pot, but I think my gasket wasn't sitting properly.

Anyhow, I've since purchased some cook books and the ease of making various soups, cooking risottos, curries and steamed puddings is amazing! I learned a lot in a short period of time and the speed is ridiculous! (In a good way) I LOVE IT !!

Some are good but I got a Friday one – Reaches pressure perfectly with plain water; put food into the equation 'no can do' Food instantly sticks to the base before this piece of garbage reaches pressure producing burnt offerings....absolute rubbish...do not buy unless you like charcoal

Best pressure cooker – I have had an aluminium prestige pressure cooker for 40 years, it was a bit wobbly where the base had distorted, so decided it was time for a new one. I decided not to get prestige again as it was almost double tthe price. Iwent for the fagor duo, a friend had a fagor and I read as much information as I could on different makes. It is the best… Read more

Fagor Duo pressure cooker – Each time i use my cooker it drips water when it reaches presssure. after numerous emails to the kitchen warehouse direct. they tell me that the problem is with me. i have tried every thing from cleaning the gasket, pressure valve etc. but the problems still exists. i am not very happy with it i bought it because of the people reviews and the fact that it came with two sizes and one lid fits all the cooker leaks every time it reaches pressure

The best value – I have had a Fagor 6L pressure cooker for about 6 years now and it's as good today as the day it arrived. Easy to use and clean you just can't go wrong. The food you can cook in this pressure cooker is only limited by you're imagination. Super fast healthy food in no time at all. There is very little you can't cook

6 Litre Fagor Duo – Was so happy with the results from the 6litre that I bought the combi set (4 litre & 8 litre) shortly thereafter. The 8 litre and the 4 litre use the same lid. For some reasons the 4litre does not pressurise about 50% of the time. Put the same lid on the 8 litre and it works fine. Has to be the 4 litre base doing it. Other than that they are the bees knees. Simplicity.  Show 4 replies

Great! – When I was living at home, we had the Fagor DUO pressure cooker and I loved it so much. Works perfectly! It has none of the hoo haa's like other pressure cookers, just a simply and sturdy design with basic lock or release. Nothing fancy or expensive! I recently moved out and started to set up home with essential and brought the Scanpan Set of 2 Pressure cookers and how I regret that decision so badly! Simple, Sturdy and Inexpensive

My favourite kitchen tool – I don't understand why anyone would want a slow cooker if you can get the same results fast. I have the 9.5L Fagor cooker, and it's fantastic for making a good stock in 40 minutes, and large family-sized dishes out of less expensive cuts of meat in a fraction of the time of a slow cooker. The Fagor has the features of the more expensive pressure… Read more

cookers that I considered buying, but was much better value. Unlike the pressure cookers of old, it doesn't have the noisy rocker mechanism to alert you that the pot has reached pressure; just a pressure indicator button that pops up. It also has built-in safety features that will not allow you to open the lid while the contents are under pressure, meaning you won't ever have to scrape your meal off the ceiling. Cheaper cuts of meat are tenderised beautifully, and just seem to taste better. I remember by mum's old pressure cooker and it was scary - this is nothing like that. It's quiet, efficent and fast - the Fagor is one of the fastest-cooking pressure cookers available (something to do with the pressure achieved. I'm considering buying a smaller cooker to complement this one, because I don't always have to cook for an army, and 9.5L is huge. After using a pressure cooker, I would never be without one again. The Fagor ticks all the boxes for me. Better value than more expensive models with same features, good quality, quiet with built-in safety features. No non-stick coating, which I don't like on cooking utensils for health reasons. Food will sometimes stick to the bottom during cooking, but as the pan is non-stick is not unexpected.

Best thing I have bought for my kitchen! – My Fagor Duo 8L is fantastic. 18/10 stainless steel which is top quality. It cooks amazingly well and is well worth every dollar I spent on it. I can't help but rave about it, and my happy house guests all agree! It has an extremely sturdy design and the safety features are superb. I couldn't be happier! High quality, sturdy, safe. Expensive

Under pressure – The Fagor Duo 9.5 litre pressure cooker is a very good option if you're looking for a large sized cooker to make stocks, soups and stews in. This was our first pressure cooker and I decided on the Fagor after reading other reviews. The company is quite well known for these cookers and there's no complaints about the quality. Construction is 18/10… Read more ·  1

stainless steel with a nice thick encapsulated aluminium base.

The lid incorporates the controls and locking mechanism, both which are intuitive and well designed. There's a heap of safety features which leaves you feeling confident that nothing will go wrong with using it. With the 9.5l version you get an extra internal basket for doing various types of dishes, plus the cooker comes with an absolutely awesome cookbook which is printed on glossy spill resistant paper.

Apparently it's also one of the fastest cookers out there because it can go up to 15psi. Highly recommended as it's easy to use, is great value, and will cut your cooking times in half for those dishes that normally take hours to simmer. Price, Design

Fagor Duo Pressure Cooker 6L – I have purchased 3 of these pressure cookers (for me and my two children) as I am so pleased with the results. Delicious meals cooked in less than half the time. It did take me a little time to learn how to best make use of the pressure cooker. But once mastered, you will soon be turning out incredibly tasty meals in no time. speedy succulent meals Lid closure can be a bit tricky
