poor QA? great grip and good price – To give the tyres credit, these are very grippy in all conditions. However I can't ignore the fact that from day 1 I was constantly getting vibrations and I kept getting wheel alignments and tyre balances done to "try" to fix it. Only to find out that on 2 of my tyre's the carcass is faulty, and i had a decent "egg" in the tyres, Causing bad… Read more
wear and the vibration. The attached photo is the same tyre, showing very bad wear in one part of the tyre, but not the other side of the tyre. I can definitely NOT recommend these tyres due to this.
Economical tyre with good wet weather grip – Have had two sets of these tyres on my Holden Colorado single cab. They have performed far better than I expected when I first got them. Hence the reason why I bought a second set. I drive dirt road every day and for 5 years now have not had a sharp rock puncture. And have better than average grip on wet tarmac. Especially in a utility that has no… Read more
weight in the back. Unlike the Bridgestone Dueler AT`s that the ute came with. Wear is a little quick, with getting a maximum of 40k out of a set. But for what they cost. Thats good to me.
Federal Tyres are dodgy and unsafe!!! – My 4 Federal tyres have separated after very little use. These are very dodgy tyres, do not purchase Federal tyres if you want a safe drive ! So do not buy. Show details
Very disapointed – Less than 50,000 kilometers and all 4 tyres had separated. Also only 4 years old and having to replace them so soon very exspensive and disappointed. This is the first time in my history of owning cars that a tyre has separated. My advise is to spend a few more dollars and purchase better tyres such as Bridgestone, B F Goodridge or Coopers. National and state distributor help poor – Have an issue with one AT tyre on caravan which I had to change for safety reasons. Possibly tread lifting, rang national distributor in Qld hand balled me to state (vic) distributor guess hand passed me to local retailer for assessment/technical advice. I wasn't looking for fault or warranty issue but technical advice as what caused this problem… Read more
which was explained to the first two contacts. Why have a contacts icon on their website when all you get is hand balls. Not good business strategies.
August 22nd 2018 Update: Not for caravans
I have had the same experiences with tyre tread separation and the hand balling from the national federal reps as per the previous review on 29/8/17. Unfortunately l have had 3 tyres separate and would not entertain federal or recommend ever. I'm one to check tyres pressures and wear regularly and drive to road conditions and had federal question my driving manner? I had the first tyre partially covered under warranty still cost me $100 didn't bother with the others due to past dealings.
Sad life span – The tires road well and seemed to handle well in the rain. But less than 13 months of 95% surface road and highway driving and they do not have enough tread to pass inspection. Less than 40,000 miles and they are thin and bald. I wish they would have lasted longer. Show details
Great for lightweight SUV's – Had a Ford Escape, and they had Pirelli Road Tyres on them,,, Overall, they were not great, swapped to Federal Couragia,A/T and they were around 2.5 times more gripping on road and of cause, as expected to a road tyre, very good off road. I now have the same tyres on a 2013 Outlander, and again, given the cars lights weight, these tyres are… Read more
brilliant! Sticky in wet and Ice and I some times drive with snow on the road. :) Totally recommended. Grippy on road! In wet, ice and snow.
Federal Couragia A/T Bloody Good Tyre – These were the only tyres available for my Jeep Grand at the time of passing rego checks so i reluctantly ttok them, They were very cheap and hence I was speculative. [name removed] the mechanic at pro works Matraville said they were a good tyre and Id be impresed. These tyres turned out to be the buy of the century. Excellent thick and deep tread… Read more
combo made the better in wet the my BF Goodie AT's. Weared very very well - not noticable after 10Ks. Very good off road - never had a puncture. i would like to see more foubies with these tyres. They are really good. i am going to try and get them fitted to ny new Kluger - they [censored word removed] on Goodyears and Bridgestones. Made in Malaysia but they have state of the art tyre tech. I cannot praise these tyres enough they were a real surprise. Never thought anything would come close to BF Good ATs but price of BF's is high. A real suprise tyre I sold the car with them
Bad – Time will tell on the durability. I have winter tires for the snow. LT 215/ 75 R 15 on factory rims- 2005 Ford Ranger plain-jane 2.3 li. 5 speed. Travel speed limit on pavement and somewhat over on gravel. Seem to avoid aquaplaning. Hold the road well on curves. Handled very well on gravel roads. I'll give an interim rating and up date it when I… Read more
have 20,000 km on them. Annoyingly out of balance by 1200 km.- about 1 oz. each. Out of balance again 2000 km later. At $ 64 a round, they could become too expensive. I believe in rotating every oil change and balancing every other.
