Fisher & Paykel DD605MFD

Even the instruction manual is hard to read – The DS605 is hard to operate, the user manual is not a lot of help either. Not easy to load and takes too long to go through the wash cycle. The user manual is hard to read with grey writing (small font size) on a white background. Very quiet and seems to do a reasonable job but not a unit that I would buy again!

Handy for small family or couples – Convenient having two drawers so that there is always one to load dirty dished into. Not great for larger items and some dinner plates can be too tall do check before buying one. Cleans reasonably well and is moderately quiet. As it aged ours caused minor flooding due to excessive bubble build up. Not sure if too much much powder used or too strong rinse aid. I've reduced the rinse aid dosage in settings and we use a little less powder and all is well. What is a bit disturbing is that none of the flood sensor triggered even though the drip pan was full and water pooled on the floor.
Overall not bad for almost ten years of service.

Terrible – Do not purchase this garbage!!!! We bought our dishdrawer 605 in October 08 here in Ireland, has already broken down three times. Does not clean dishes properly. Irish F&P service centre very poor to deal with. This is an expensive piece of garbage, I wish I had bought european! Very unreliable, does not clean dishes properly, total waste of money!
OK but unreliable – Like many Fisher and Paykel products, the concept is great but the execution is lacking. Great idea to have two drawers, but it does break down and the buttons sometimes don't work. You just need to be lucky and get a reliable one. But who wants to be lucky? The product should work.
Good – We're quite happy with our purchase, the only downside for me is not being able to fit larger items like you can usually squeeze in a conventional dishwasher. Also with only 1 'washing arm' you have to be very careful about how you load the machine so everything is cleaned properly. It doesn't seem to be dispensing rinse aid at the moment - might need to read the manual again though. Not sure if I'd buy another one, but we're satisfied at the moment. Looks great, the surface is easy to keep clean and doesn't mark much, very quiet, 'supposed' to use less water / power etc. Convienient to load & unload. Easy to install - I did it myself, no leaks (yet!). Matches other F&P appliances. It is a bit expensive compared to other dishwashers, you can't fit larger items like chopping boards or platters in it. Doesn't wash as well as conventional dishwashers.
