Fuji Xerox DocuPrint M205 Series

Horrible Machine – Honestly the most complicated device I have ever had to set up. I have set up many drivers, devices, etc. I have even built my own PC from scratch but this takes setting up to a whole new level. The manual is nowhere near helpful. The set up for scanning to Network/Email is so complicated I cannot imagine people like my parents, aunts or uncles… Read more
would have a clue. It's no wonder why they had to discontinue this line. Better putting your money elsewhere. HP does a much better job.
Terrible jams, terrible software – I printed 3 pages, 2 out of 3 jammed - that was after installing the software 5 times until it decided to work; only with a usb cable, mind. This is a really terrible, terrible printer. When the toner is low, you cannot operate the printer because it continually pops up saying "toner is near life". On the other hand, the pages do print quickly and are pretty sharp.
Most horrible & paper jammed printer I have encountered – I got this printer new with 2 toner cartridge into the deal. And I use this printer occasionally to scan and print. The printer decided paper jam is a fun moment for me when it was barely 1/3 into the 1st toner cartridge. Frequent manual hand feed is the norm. Then, barely into the 2nd toner cartridge, the printer just decided that paper jammed is… Read more
a must have. I am discarding this still new looking printer this week end together with the unused toner. I will never buy a Fuji Xerox printer ever.
Horrible printer – I've got this printer for about a year now and i've never had a printer which jams so much. Even if i "air" the paper before using it, it will still keeps jamming. Now i'm starting to get black lines on the right side of the paper, but i cannot find anything about replacing a drum or so. I actually went to the shop to buy another printer, but the… Read more
sales person convinced me to buy this one. It will be absolutely the last time I will listen to a sales person.
Will not scan when it decides ink cartridge needs replacing – Apart from this device not using the ink until it runs out, it also does not let you scan a document until you replace the ink cartridge with a new one; rendering the scanning function nugatory. The scanning function at other times has been very temperamental; sometimes requiring a complete shutdown and restart of the computer in order to get it to function.
Superb support – Fuji xerox has superb support !! This m205b was most reliable all in all. Yes it was not perfect and paper jams kept me busy. Sadly many pieces of paper never had printing on them but so what as it only cost $84.00 and i enjoyed going back to officeworks in lismore. They achieved a 10/10 for service and replaced the machine twice with a smile.… Read more
The third time they didn't have any so i rang fuji xerox on the queens birthday late afternoon and they answered. The stated that they would send me a new one and on wednesday morning it arrived. The sent me a m215b manufactured in may 2014. I had difficulty with installation the next day and rang their support service which was in malaysia.
They had difficulties with installation also and they perservered for three, yes three, hours. Marvellous patience was continually exhibited with eventual success. Then they said "is there anything else we can do for you sir? Wow ! Four printers for $88.00, instant service & support and some customers look for faults. Thank you so very much-officeworks, service & support and fuji xerox 11/10.
Your the best and then there is the rest. Arnie Price, compact,no worry about colours, service, support, extra warranty Nothing really except eats too much paper
The most complicated printer ever – I expected more from Fuji Xerox, but this printer was a complete let down. First, it was exceedingly difficult to set up. The manual did not explain properly how to connect the printer to the network (in layman's terms), and how to activate the available features. I had to ring up the tech department to help me, and enlist the help of my friend… Read more
who is an electrical engineer. Then once we got it working, we realised a number of features did not work, and this was confirmed by the Fuji technician. This included: printing from USBs (apparently only old versions of PDF and Word files can be printed), staying connected to the Wi-Fi at all times, and scanning to e-mail. Finally, after 6 months' of sporadic use, the printer decided it would no longer connect to the Wi-Fi or work on any laptops other than mine (even with a USB cable). It also started squeaking and copying A4-sized documents to A5 size! It was ridiculous. Good brand Wi-Fi connectivity was poor, most of the features did not work
worst support and service – We bought fuji xerox MFd for one of our branch offices. We had issue with printer while it was under warranty. We logged a call and after 5 days technician attended site although i mentioned it is business and we need it to be fixed ASAP. Fuji xerox use contractor as technician (technician are not their direct employees). Technician informed one… Read more
of the parts is faulty and needs to be replaced but he does not know when xerox will send part. I called fuji xerox after 1 days and they said they did not hear from technician anything..... strange !!!!! when i asked them to tell me when i will get printer fixed support said they do not know as it depends on parts availability. They did not get back to me and when i called after 1 day and talked with another support person he advised there is no note about anything. Really strange.... I think this is an example of worst customer service. I won't buy any more Fuji xerox as i am still waiting for pritner to be fixed.....
If you want to buy Fuji Xerox printer or MFD think twice before you buy...If printer will need service then you will stuck in loop between support and technician. This is my personal experience and i am 100% sure all fuji xerox customers may have same issue with support.... price Worst customer service and support, You are screwed if you need support
Worst service, horrible quality – This 3-in-1 has all the functions that you would need in a normal everyday kind of situation, but it does have a few problems. I've had it replaced 3 times in the last year and am waiting for my 4th replacement. One of the biggest problems is that it jams like crazy. You could have a lot of paper lined up perfectly, clean surface, and it will… Read more
just jam. Although the removing the jam option is available via the rear end, it's hopeless. I've bought 2 types of toner for the printer and somehow, after numerous pages of printing, it appears the printer has become "too tired" to function properly and the quality downgrades. The last few pages of my notes would be either unreadable or so shoddy and "3d" like, that I could scratch the ink off by just touching it.
Also I'd like the add that the number pad for the printer is just positioned at the worst place. When I'm photocopying textbooks, somehow the numbers almost always get pressed on and my printer ends up printing more than needed.
The first time replacing my printer was ok. The people at fuji xerox responded rather quickly. But the next few times were horrible. They said they would call back and never did. By the time I called, they said the printer was already on it's way - fair enough. However, when it did arrive, it was not in tip top condition. The inside of the box was filled with fresh coffee. Someone had spilled a cup of coffee all over the printer.
Since then (over a week ago), no one has called me back about a re-delivery. If it wasn't for the constant paper jam and bad service, then it would be a dream printer. But unfortunately, it's quite hopeless. Affordable and long lasting toner - but what's the point if it's just gonna smudge all over? Has all the functions Paper jams, bad quality if a lot is printed
Affordable Multiprinter but – I bought this printer Oct 2011, almost 1 year ago for just $88 at OW. At glance, this is the best for money multifunction laser printer. It is an economic printer, I haven't changed the toner yet. I set the printer density to lighter and it prints really good. It also has direct USB to device, so you can print various file (pdf, images,… Read more
documents) directly from your USB flash drive without your computer. This printer also can scan your documents directly to you USB.
It can be used as a standalone multifunction printer without any PC. You also can copy your document, set up you printing/scanning preference, thanks to the LCD display on the unit.
This printer is almost to be the best printer if it has support driver for the Linux.
Linux users beware!!! this printer doesn't have any support for the driver. until now, you won't be able to use this printer for any Linux distribution. Direct USB print & scan, LCD display, economic Has no driver for Linux
Its ok – I own the M205 fw black version. Had it for a fair while (still under warranty I believe). In general its a part of my home office, and I depend on it much. Once it did jam pretty badly as it pulled in many sheets of paper at once. I could not pull it out and papers tore and was stuck on the roller and I could see it but could not reach it. Rang… Read more
their support, they asked about the serial and so forth and within two days they couriered a brand new replacement unit. In return I had to put the old one in the box and rang their number, next day a courier came and took it away. And the new unit has been printing away since, no issues.
I have to say I am now more confidant about buying a Fuji product just because of the product support. And part of me still thinks that the old printer was fine too if only I was able to free the paper jam. The product itself is good. Except one thing that got to me:
The toner has a microchip that counts pages printed. I print invoices mostly which generally has about three lines of text. After the amount of count that it is supposed to print or however it thinks it has run out it stops printing and you must replace the toner. And just before that page the toner was printing crisp sharp pages. To me that is a dirty handed tactic to sell more toners. It was not like this in the old printers, where we could print all the way till the prints were faded. Not cool. But I believe every manufacturer are doing it these days. Yet we have those green toner recycling boxes to save the environment filling up with half used toners stopped by a microchip.
My bottom line is that the product is good and reliable, service is one of the best I experienced in any comparison, the toner selling tactic is foul. Will I buy this same product again - Yes. Reliable, does everything it says it does well, Awesome support. Toner locks up if it thinks its empty, not when it really is empty. Terrible feature.
