One of the best phones we've ever had – We've had 2 x A50's for a number of years now since new, and although they are not quite up to todays tasks, they are our back up phones and still do most things. They are that good that we don't want to discard them and use them for emergency purposes. Stand alone Life time maps (proper GPS not AGPS like most phones) were a task at one point but… Read more
were eventually updated the to operational and functionally usable again. If only there was a "today" version of them, I'd buy it, best phone I ever had even compared to our brand new phones especially in terms of durability. Till then, (if ever) they are still used from time to time, but buy a new battery if you find yourself doing the same sort of thing. Worthy investment over the original.
GPS with a phone in it – I've had this for a year. I dont use the internet on it a lot but when I do it works. The battery indicator is not accurate and when it shows 84% the phone shuts down. I charge it for about an hour every second day. The GPS is accurate and comes with lifetime updates. Use this phone if you are not a heavy phone user. The touch screen is OK. The GPS. battery
Great little phone – I have been though about 11 phones most i chucked at a wall or killed in some microwave anger session cos the damn things touch buttons dont pick up when i get a phone call or it freezes all the time etc etc.... This is the first phone i have had that cost me about $200 "cheap compared to other phones" it has a proper garmin gps in it "i also… Read more
got a lifetime of free maps" It has worked flawlessly and its the first phone i have had that i dont want to kill.
Battery life is only about 2 days but talking to friends there samsungs and iphones and not much better if that.
Even if you decide to get another phone down the track you can still use this as a gps and if you got lifetime free maps like me then its payed for itself in never having to buy a new gps. Not bad for $200 Easy to use and has a real garmin gps in it. Battery could be better.
Mmm – The Garmin Asus A50, Is Dedicated too GPS, and is very accurate. It gives reliable routes, The reception is not very good, but its ok, The Android used is not very new, Its outdated and requires a new update. The specs on this smartphone are used for very light use. Maybe used 2-4 hours a day of use. Its not recommended if your a heavy… Read more
phone browser and game addict. Dirt-cheap, Liftime GPS, Warranty service, Light, Small, The interaction with this phone seems to be lacking, Battery Life, Reception
Hardly can be used at all – Poor reception, weak battery, very slow. I bought it for its GPS capabilities and it still can be used as GPS. However it is slow and tends to lose the map mode while on route. As a phone it is barely adequate with bad reception and sluggish response to touch for answering the call. Sometimes people tried to reach me for 20 minutes and I wasn't… Read more
able to take the call! It is almost useless as smart phone with slow CPU and tendency to freeze.
The worst part is that after restart it usually sets itself in FDR mode (no outside calls, no internet reception). It can be cured only by multiple (50+ times attempts to restart) So-so GPS
no good – Lucky if the battery last half a day, no service when my other phone has full service both on telstra next G looks nice, its smaller than other smart phones battery life, bad recption
