Good sound, great value for money – These speakers are actually quite large, and are almost as tall as my 24" monitor. The sound is surprisingly good for the $65 that I paid for them. These are the best PC speakers that I have owned to date. Sound is full and largely uncoloured, bass is a little lacking but is expected from a speaker of this size. I'm now spending more time in front of my computer whilst listening to music rather than listening to music in the living room with my brand new $4500+ Jamo & Yamaha surround sound home theater system. Good sound, excellent value for money Drivers have a foam surround rather than rubber

It´s so apparent you are of the boom box generation, you have absolutely no idea how a good clear speaker should sound.

Excellent Speaker ! – A fine sounding (genuine 3-way) speaker that is musical and well balanced. The front-panel Bass and Treble controls enable the user to compensate for speaker positioning and frequency balance. I use the bass control (-) to great effect in delivering "clean" low frequencies with the added benefit of increasing lower-mid-range clarity and definition. The Treble control remains in the neutral position but can effectively be adjusted to roll-back excessive hi-frequency program sources.

The Bass/Treble controls (on a PC speaker)is a must, as the various internet sources of music (including your own down-loaded or CD copies) can range wildly in fidelity --depending on compression formats and recording quality. Speaker positioning arrangements are often not ideal on a desktop PC environment also necessitating the use of tone controls to obtain an optimum balance.

The speakers are physically large at 15"(H)X6"(W)X6"(D)-- consuming considerable desktop real estate. Surprisingly, they do not play VERY loud, but ample for my (and most user's) needs I'm sure. Particularly for the more critical listener's among us. I'd prefer if the speaker had speaker grilles or at the very least a tweeter mesh cover to protect the sensitive tweeter "dome". Having the drive-units exposed may offer the best sound but it does nothing to protect the individual speakers/drive-units from prying fingers and/r the occasional handling of the speakers for repositioning or when cleaning around or beneath the speaker.

A wonderful speaker in the $100/pr. (US dollar) price range. Very good sound and build quality. No speaker grille or Left/Right speaker marking --speaker with controls is the (R) one!

i read loads of reviews about the lack of bass on these speakers from all sorts of professionals, can i point out at this juncture that the bass is far from lacking, its not just about tweaking bass and treble on the front of the unit or through whatever player you are using. its also relies heavily on speaker positioning and the material behind the speakers as this reflects heavily on the rear facing bass port. in front of glass or plaster board it dumbs down the bass significantly yet in front of a solid brick wall or in the corner of 2 walls of the above materials its a totally different experience and i would ask anyone with these speakers to try repositioning them and let the professionals know how it sounds to your own ears.

The reflex ports on the backside are totally excessive in this construction, fill them up with cotton and these speakers reflect somewhat a true punchy bass.
