Will never build in WA again

My partner signed her contract 3 years ago with go homes. We asked about delays and they said there would be none. It has been 3 years. 3 years and still not at lockup yet.
I have currently built 4 houses in Port Macquarie NSW in the past 3 years which are all rented out, and hers still isnt even at lockup.
It has been so long that her original choices for benchtops and other chosen items have been discontinued.
Imagine paying a mortgage on building/construction rates for something that has taken 3 years to build and can't be rented out.
This mob is a joke. Getting in contact is hard enough as it is with no explanation or ownership of why the builds taken so long.
Save yourself heartbreak and stress- don't build with Go Homes. Show details

House condition after only 3.5 years

It's been 3.5 years since my house was completed with Go Homes and I've had:
- burst pipes and water leaking from the roof into the meter box
- water leaking into the pantry
- grout issue in the bathroom

Regretting building with Go Homes now as its apparent the quality of the build is not good and does not last long. Show details

Depressed

We have signed contract in December 2020 and that time they assured us 14 months build time before we signed the contract and now only completed brickwork so far. Nearly going to be three years on and we are paying rent, mortgage and bills for two properties one that renting and so frustrated. Only answer from BGC is waiting for trade. How long ???? Show details

When are my tradies turning up ???

For some reason GoHomes cannot tell me this ??? I was told in late October my tiler was on the way. Now I am told that he is running late and no idea when he will be there. My render which was supposed to be done over 2 months ago - same story and he will be there "in due course". How can you run a building company with no idea when your trades are going to turn up ????
I have been waiting over 2 years now and running out of time, patience and money. My build number is 1052127 and this has become my only resort for a response.

Thank you Show details

Much delayed construction

The sales order for the construction was signed in Jan 2021. Late pre-construction start - Site work started in Aug 2022. Then, 10 months wait for BGC to assign bricklayer. Bricklaying completed in Jul 2022. Then 1-2 months to wait for timber, then latest 1-2 months wait for roof carpenter. Bad planning and project management. Interest rate is raising everyday. Penalty fee kicks in from lender when construction period exceeds 1 year. Admin team told me may take another 1 year to complete build. This is totally unacceptable Show details

Greed over Productivity

At the start of the construction stage was emailed BGC owners of Go Homes there was going to be a Cap on homes built forecasting boom pressures, Now we have been waiting 3 to 6 months for every stage of the home build . Haven’t raised cost to keep tradies so called biggest builder in WA , blame it on supply’s and tradies issues . Don’t build with them better of with smaller reliable customer caring companies, they are good at the start then as soon as you sign it’s down hill from there . Show details

Stay away they will destroy your life

We signed with one of BGC Companies over 2 years ago they said it's 8-10 months from slab down to handover. We had all problems with this Builder including constant delays, price rise etc. we are now 27 months since sign up and 18 months since slab down and House is finally locked since June and still delays and poor service they doing no works for weeks and sometime 1-2 days of work in a month. They are pushing all their clients very hard to go broke. We will advise everyone to stay far away from BGC companies there are lots of other good Builders to go with. Show details

I wish people would not leave a 5 star review before they are into construction!!!!!!!

This gives a totally unrealistic idea to people who are signing up with Go Homes.
It is a veritable nightmare, start to finish.
I have been at it since 2019 with BGC, March 2020 with Go Homes, and am still nowhere near completion! Show details

If you want to feel miserable and depressed please choose this company!

OK the facts, no aggressive language, job number 52623, we signed with Go Homes Sep 2021, almost one year on, still haven’t seen a single brick, no update, no explanation…what do we suppose to do, do we renew our rental for one more year, two more years??? It’s absolutely ridiculous, they get you in the door with milk and honey only to leave you in the lurch once the check clears.
One of the selling points they gave us was that BGC owns Midland Brick so the delay would be minimal. Now we see other houses who started after us get bricks delivered and brickies on site while we look at a slab of concrete. It’s an absolute sham. I’ve had a more reliable experience with servo sushi than BGC. Show details

Hi Go homes,
What is the meaning of your 6+ months time frame to get the brickwork done?
Can you please explain because I don't seem to get an answer when I ask the "right person".
Thanks in advance for your reply.

Hi , what is the time frame for a building contract to be drawn up?

Doreen
Doreen

It was more than a year ago when I signed my contract. But based on my rough memory, it was about 2-3 weeks to get the building contract.

Thanks, the builder told us 6wks, now their saying another 4 was, it’s just doesn’t seem right.

At what point does your ‘24 week construction timeline’ start? When the file moves to construction? When the slab is down?

And why won’t you provide the key miles stone dates from the build schedule to your clients to assist them in their planning?

Thanks. However, there should be a definitive response to this regardless of the job file number and therefore shouldn't need looking into...
